The Jungle Book is all set to become the highest grosser of 2016, as the film will beat the collections of Akshay Kumar’s Airlift this weekend. The Hollywood film is not only the best trending film of the year, but the only film that has found ‘universal appreciation‘.
The first week collections of Airlift was higher than The Jungle Book, but in the second week, the Akshay starrer will be left far behind. While Airlift collected 28.79 crore in Week 2, The Jungle Book has already collected 38.66 crore in 5 days and will finish with second week business of around 47 crore. It has achieved these numbers even with the release of a massive film like Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘FAN’ which released in 3500 screens and got plenty of shows at multiplexes.
The trend suggests that ‘The Jungle Book’ will finish with lifetime business of 150-160 crore net. It’ll be the film to beat this year and it’ll also be interesting to see if any ‘non-festive‘ release will beat the collections of ‘The Jungle Book’.

The Jungle Book was a great experience . The CGI was awesome . Actors , Neel Sethi , Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson did fantastic job .

Bollywood needs to start investing more on script writers. Seriously! Every big banner must have an institution where people will do causes, workshops and research so hindi movies will be authentic and entertaining. Maybe some people in bwood don’t know how big and popular their movie industry is. Everybody is watching hindi movies these days from the corner of Afrika to the mountains of South Amerika. Managed to watch Fan .
I don’t want to review it but I will tell two things which hurt me the most ; number one when Gaurav meets Aryan in the prison, Gaurav cries and he wants Aryan to appreciate what he has done for him .
But Aryan doesn’t appreciate instead rebukes him and tells him I told the police to arrest u so that u should be punished for what u have done . This scene when Gaurav finds out that one whom he loved the most has informed the police ” I find this scene very very emotional and disheartening.
Number 2 the ending where Gaurav fights with Aryan. Gaurav cries and tells Aryan that I did so much for u I ruined my life only for u and u tell me that I should go to my way and forget this love . And when he says that u said everything but u didn’t say sorry ( I madly cried when I heard this line ) because all of those things happened and ended very disheartening because of these two things .
And at the climax when both Aryan and Gaurav cry and tells Gaurav not to commit suicide made my eyes teary. I really really really cried during this ending scene .
For those people who didn’t cry during this scene let me remind you sth . U will cry when u lose one of ur dears. I know this is only a film .
I have watched Darr, Baazigar, kabhi ha kabhi na ,Devdas, kkhh, dil se , mnik etc
I did not cry watching those as much as I cried during the climax of Fan … I found it extremely extremely emotional.
And for box office. I got angry when dilwale didn’t perform well at box office but I Don’t care about Fan collection.

Who says the year is embarrassing…. There is a line-up of fantastic n strong content movie like Sarbjit, Cabaret n 1920 London. The classic period drama Mohenjodero is also on the way. Neerja, Airlift, The Jungle Book and Kapoor and Sons have already proven their worth.
Note that i’m not talking from box office collection point of view. Hence excluded Sultan, Dangal, Raees n Housefull 3 from the list. Fan is already a disater…

Airlift was a very good movie and deserves all praises. Akshaye was awesome in it as well.
And yes it will be extra ordinary if Jungle Book crosses 150 cr. Un-imaginable.
It just released with 1600 screens on a normal weekend. Faced clash in second week with a big movie, Fan. And if it still crosses 150 cr then it should be one of the biggest success stories of recent times.

Regarding Fan, just relax. With just one flop you are forgetting so many hits of his. His first in 11 years. This will make him just more stronger believe me. And Raees is coming which will make u feel better.
