Jolly LLB 2 Monday (Day 4) Box Office Collections

Jolly LLB 2 has sustained well at the box office and passed the crucial Monday test. The collections are a little below the 7 crore mark and closer to 6.5 crore. Mass-centres showed bigger drops on Monday, while multiplex business remained steady inspite of reduced ticket prices. A better performance at single-screens, especially in the north and central parts of India, would’ve given the film a slightly bigger total – in the range of 7.5 crore, which would’ve been an excellent hold, giving the film a chance to go well beyond the 100 crore mark.

Jolly LLB 2 Weekend Box Office Report: Excellent trend

Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 has performed very well in its first weekend at the box office. The film has shown excellent growth and the trend is even better than ‘Rustom’ and ‘Airlift’ last year. The ‘First Day to Weekend’ growth ratio of Akshay’s last few films is as follows:

Jolly LLB 2 Day 1 (Friday) Box office Collections

Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 has performed fairly well on its opening day, collecting Rs 12.5 – 13 crore at domestic box office. The film was below trade-expectations, but that isn’t the right way to judge the performance of a film. The expectations probably came because of the way ‘Rustom’ opened last year, but ‘Jolly LLB 2’ was a less-marketed film with lower production costs.

Kaabil and Raees: Inflated Box Office Collections and our estimates!

There comes a time when a strong stand has to be taken against the inflation of box office collections – which has crossed all possible limits with the release of Raees and Kaabil. The theatres are empty but the collections, both films combined, are at record levels for weekdays. Before we begin, credit should go to Red Chillies and Excel for keeping the collections at reasonable levels throughout the weekend. They probably had no choice but to inflate Monday onwards because the other film would’ve otherwise overtaken them and that would mean negative reports in the mainstream media – which follows official figures. But that’s no excuse for inflation to levels of insanity when the film isn’t even collecting half of what they have quoted.

IndicineFBO Update: Jolly LLB 2, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Rangoon

The year did not begin very well for ‘IndicineFBO’ with 2017’s first release ‘Ok Jaanu’ falling well short of our prediction. But with ‘Raees’ and ‘Kaabil’ we were on target, accurately predicting both the opening day collections of the two films and also the winner of the clash. We now have a stellar record when it comes to predicting clashes – Rustom vs Mohenjo Daro, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil vs Shivaay and Raees vs Kaabil – were all accurately predicted.

Raees Box Office Collections in 9 Days

Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has completed 9 days and has managed to accumulate Rs 122.36 crore at the domestic box office. The film has lost more screens this week, but it’s only because it had a much wider release in Week 1. The official numbers, as per Red Chillies Entertainment, is as follows:

Raees First Week Box Office Collections

Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has completed its first week at the box office with net box office collections of Rs 109.01 crore in 7 days – as per official figures released by Red Chillies Entertainment. Note: There will be no ‘IndicineLBO’ prediction for Raees, as we see inconsistency in our tracking estimates and official figures released by the makers throughout the first 7 days. The same applies to both films, the other being Kaabil. Day-wise Collections Below:

Raees, Kaabil Day 3 Box Office Collection Update

Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees was steady on its 3rd day, with business dropping by around 30-35% from its first day (Wednesday) at the box office. The film has crossed the 50 crore mark in 3 days and when the final collections come in, it should get close to 60 crore. The first extended weekend (5 days) of Raees should be in the 90 crore range and the film will become the first 100 crore grosser of the year by the end of its first week.

Raees to hold on to its lead, Kaabil likely to surprise over the weekend

Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil is likely to surprise over the weekend, as the film is carrying very good reports. We’ve been busy asking a lot of people – audience, exhibitors etc - trying to gauge the word-of-mouth, which is extremely difficult to ascertain in the first couple of days of release. But now, nearly 3 days after the release of the Sanjay Gupta directed film, things are becoming a lot more clearer and the word-of-mouth seems to be ranging from good to excellent, with vast majority of the audience liking the film.
