Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has done very well at the box office in its first weekend, beating the collections of Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil on all 5 days at the ticket window.
Like so many clashes in the past, SRK has comprehensively won this one too. His only big loss so far in his career was ‘Bajirao Mastani’ surpassing the lifetime business of ‘Dilwale’, but even there his film managed to outperform the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film in the first weekend, did very well overseas and went on to collect almost 150 crore at the domestic box office.
It remains to be seen where Raees goes from here. The drop on Monday morning – on an average - is around 40-45% from Friday. But the percentage of drop varies across different parts of the country, with some centres showing bigger than expected drops, while others holding on pretty well.
The next four days starting from today, will also be important for Raees because that will decide the screen-sharing with Kaabil this coming weekend at multiplexes.

I am really disappointed on raees film performance’s was good srk , nawaz & none another than its Kulkarni performance was excellent superb . My three friends are also disappointed . Srk was best in Fan . Raees 2.5 . Kaabil 3.5 .

Very good weekend if we consider delay, clash factor and the fact that this isn’t the best period to release a movie. Shahrukh Khan won another clash and proved that he’s back ! He never lost his power, he just did a very bad film (Dilwale) and a film that was difficult to sell to indian audiance (Fan). RAEES RULES !!!
