A. Budget includes the cost of producing a movie (also known as COP), marketing expenses (advertising) and release cost (print).
Q. What is net collections?
A. The total collections of a film at the box office is called ‘gross collections’. Entertainment tax is then deducted from the total which gives us the ‘Net collections’ which is then shared between theatre owners (exhibitors) and producers / distributors.
Q. How are verdicts determined?
A. We have classified the verdicts of films into Disaster, Flop, Below Average, Average, Above Average, Semi Hit, Hit, Super Hit, Blockbuster and All Time Blockbuster. Several factors are considered, but the main criteria is based on the recovery or profits of domestic distributor.

Shouldnt the verdict of a film be given only on its theatrical run. How can the satellite and overseas business be used to determine the verdict? By this logic, no film of Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan can ever flop. Two of them have crazy fans overseas and the third one is the biggest crowd puller in India.
So indicine i have a simple question. Why hny verdict super-hit and with budget 150cr?

@ Indicine Are you sure Baby is still Above Average ? This year has been disappointing for Box Office till now . All movies except Baby have been failures . Let’s hope Badlapur will be successful . I don’t think March will be any better . In the month of April DBB and MR. X can become successful . May will be about Main Gabbar and Bombay Velvet . In June HAK, ABCD 2 and DDD can dominate the Box Office . July looks interesting with BB on Eid . August will be huge because of Brothers and Phantom can also make a mark for itself . September is low profile because of Katti Batti and Shaandaar . Shaandaar can be successful because of Shahid, Alia, Dharma and Vikas Bahl . It will be difficult for KB because of Imran Khan . If Fan comes in September then SRK can dominate September . Rocky Handsome and SIB are expected to clash at the Box Office on 2nd October . RH is a Korean Adaptation of The Man From No where . SIB is not looking exciting to me because of Prabhu Deva but let’s hope Akki can provide a Solid Comedy movie . MS Dhoni will be anticipated by Dhoni fans and if India wins the World Cup the movie can become huge . PRDP can dominate the Box Office on Diwali . It is expected that Hera Pheri 3 will release in December but i don’t think so that can happen . Now Tamasha being postponed to 2016 Bajirao Mastaani and Dilwale (SRK – RS Combo) can release on Christmas . So overall the year is looking interesting .

Roy deserves average status! And Badlapur will be another average! Industry will be shocked this year, there will be reductions from last year for sure. Salman’s movies won’t work; SRK’s would work as usual, and ticket prices will be reduced a lot; audiences won’t go to theatres otherwise!
