Question: Even though the buzz for Arjun Kapoor’s Tevar is good, it’s the first big release of January which has never been a good period to release films. Plus if PK becomes a huge hit, people may not turn up in huge numbers to watch a film starring a young hero. So what is the realistic box office prospect of Tevar? Question: How much did the industry lose in the month of November? How are they sustaining with such huge losses? – Vikas (New Delhi) Answer: The losses theatrically are around Rs 100 crore for the month of November. ‘The Shaukeens’ was made on a budget of 39 crore (estimate) including all costs, and the theatrical recovery was around 14 cr. YRF’s ‘Kill Dil’ too was made on a budget of around 40-45 crore including advertising costs. Share from India and overseas business was 20-21 cr.
