Will Salman Khan get a National Award for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’?

Salman Khan is currently the top contender to win his first Filmfare Best Actor award, but the competition gets tougher when it comes to the most prestigious award in the country – The National Award for Best Acting.

In a career spanning 2 and a half decades, Salman hasn’t won too many acting awards, but his performance in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has been received well both by the critics and the audience.

When Salman was asked for his reaction to his fans demanding a National Award for him, the superstar said his National Award is the love from his audience.

“It’s really sweet of them. I really appreciate what they are saying and I have been hearing a lot about this but I think there are a lot of other people who deserve a National Award more than I do.”

“But for me, people have loved the film, appreciated it and even watched it three, four of five times. I think’s that’s the National Award for me, which the public has already given me.” Salman said.

  • If common people decides national awards then salman will win it for BB for the best actor
    best movie-BB
    BEST actor-salman khan

  • Bajrangi bhaijaan will definitely win the best movie award

no award is bigger than people’s love
    awards are just statues

  • LOL! Then what about Akshay Kumar for Baby…I know that Salman is really impressive in BB but what about Akshay Kumar…He does the best of 2015 till now…Then Salman from BB,Also Varun was good in Badlapur and Ajay in Drishyam…Now Brothers to come I wish it’ll be one of the best movie ever made in India…So it’s a tough competition…BTW through out Varun from the list because he did ABCD 2 after his life’s best film Badlapur…

  • Isnt National Award for good acting?Being starring in good film doesnot mean that you also acted well.Bhai was mediocre at emotional scenes. So no chance of national award.

  • both PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan had raised ticket rates but PK managed to hold them higher for longer due to the Xmas and New Year period. In the first week, if we look at the five major chains then PK had 4.50 crore nett more business but its footfalls were 50,000 less thanBajrangi Bhaijaan as ticket rates for PK were held higher for longer. This is just the main chains and if we take other multiplexes, Bajrangi Bhaijaan should have done at least 6.50-7 crore nett more in week one if ticket rates were not bought down on Tuesday. It would have made no difference to the business as the film was accepted and people would have paid. The three week footfalls of Bajrangi Bhaijaan stand at a little less than 3.37 crore and PK finished at 3.50 crore. If we assume that Bajrangi Bhaijaan will have the same ATP (Average Ticket Price) in week four as in week three then it will be at 3.50 crore footfalls after four weeks. The ATP may come out a little higher as multiplexes are contributing more now but it will only be a matter time as it will surely cross in week five because its not as if Brothers is going to stop its run totally. The fact that Bajrangi Bhaijaan has done betterin the interiors has also added to its footfalls. This will also mean that Bajrangi Bhaijaan will have a higher adjusted nett gross in time as the yearly ticket rates emerge unless of course if the ATP comes down for 2016 or 2017 which would be very unlikely. There will be a 25 crore nett gap between PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan but it is down to three reasons.1. Multiplex ticket prices especially week one2. Baahubali down South hit it for 10-12 crore nett3. Major competition in form of Drishyam came in week three.

  • IF…….and I really and truly mean “IF” SALMAN GETS THE AWARD…….OMG…….SRK fans will butcher the national award jury…….hahahahaha…..

i guess Nawaz will be up for an award as his upcoming movie looks promising so far from the trailer, and by end of the year there would be pretty good contenders for the award.

  • Bajrangi Bhaijaan was a good film with an impressive story, it doesn’t mean Salman Khan acted any better that he normally does! It was yet another poor performance from him! Definitely not deserving of any ‘best actor’ award (at least the ones awarded by film critics)!

  • @ Movie Fan, Agreed!! I too think Akshay should win the National Award because he deserves it more than Sallu Bhaijan…. Akshay is not limiting himself as he can do movies like special 26 (limited audience), baby (only 1 song? ) … he is the ultimate risk taker.
Nothing personal against Salman but I think he is playing safe with all these larger than life characters, masala entertainers… Kabir Khan is not a masala(5 songs, Romance, Over the top actions, Comedy) movie maker. if you have watched New York and even the phantom trailer then you would know…he is more like a class fim makers as his background is documentary film making….but Kabir compromised because of Salman as Salman feels kind of safe with Masla entertainers….. now that Salman is a big superstar he shouldn’t shy away from doing any genre movies …. I have yet to see Salman in a thriller movie…..
So Akki paji should get the National Award for Baby and even Gabbar is back

  • Salman was decent in Bajrangi bhaijaan but nothing close to the best performance of the year or national award deserving!!
Just bcoz the film was good and collected so much,Salman’s performance is being overrated..

Akshay Kumar’s performance in BABY is the best so far for me,I can’t think of any other actor who could have pulled off that role while Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi could have been done by many.

  • This year for Filmfare and National Award deserves two actor
Salman Khan for Bajrangi Bhaijan and Akshay Kumar for Baby / Brothers and may be Singh Is Bling.

  • Give Salman Khan a national award for best actor is like giving Chunkey Pandey an oscar for Actor in a leading role. ??

  • BB is one of the finest movies of Indian Cinema. Salman Khan, Kabir Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Harshaali Malhotra & K. V. Vijayendra Prasad deserve everything for this beautiful flick.

  • Aamir khan used to say the same sentence way before. Now salman copied aamir’s line.. Everybody is following aamirs footsteps.

  • I really loved Bajrangi bhaijaan, it deserve national award whether best film or best actor. But critics always been unfair with aamir and salman.. This time also they will do the same.

  • why people make it a big issue ??? it just an average work all bad work and suddenly one average work doesn’t means that he deserve national award for me his acting in terenaam was much better than it .it was just an average work
it we consider it for national award than what about performance like sawdes, chak de, my name is khan, devdas, haider, rang de basanti etc….

it may be a blunder he will get it like saif Ali khan got for Hum tum which was least deserving performance

  • The following line from Salman deserves a National award :

“But for me, people have loved the film, appreciated it and even watched it three, four of five times. I think’s that’s the National Award for me, which the public has already given me”

Sl@p on haters who always barking about his acting skills. Salman, himself dont want any awards because he is getting biggest award of all – Love and support of People !!!!!!!!!!!!!
