We did not increase the ticket price, nor was Bang Bang a solo release: Hrithik

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has said that they did not increase the ticket price of his recently released film Bang Bang, like most big films that release during the festive season, and nor was the film a solo release (Haider released alongside), but it has still comfortably managed to beat ‘Krrish 3’ worldwide.

“We did not increase the ticket prices, our film was not a solo release and still it has surpassed the collections of ‘Krrish 3’ so I am very happy,” the actor told reporters.

When asked for his reaction on crossing Krrish 3, the actor said “I am very happy, but I don’t know what my father is thinking. It’s a one step ahead for me and it’s a growth. Start has been great, it crossed Rs 100 crore mark and that’s a big victory.”

The star is also happy that his kids, Hrehaan and Hridhaan, have loved the film.

“I wanted my children to like the film. They were so excited that I had to prepare them before making them watch the film. They saw the late night show and post the picture, they said that it’s the best film I have ever done. I am so happy and that reaction is the most important reaction for me,” said the star delightedly.

On his film getting mixed to negative reviews from critics, the actor said he he respects every opinion, including those from the critics, but is surprised that movies which opened to mixed reviews are those that go on to collect 100 crore or more.

“Every opinion matters to me personally. But whichever films have crossed Rs 100 crore in Indian cinema has got mixed reviews” he said.

  • Salman himself calls his Semi Hit film (jai ho) a failure,
    on other hand
Hrithik calls his below Average film (Bang Bang) a Blockbuster! Lol

  • Yes absolutely True Hrithik…

As for your Kids thinking its your best film.. I thinl that because its the first time that they have see you so happy onscreen… Whereas in others you had sad & happy moments… Afterall for a son, His fathers Happiness is Everything…

  • Ufff HAIDER is a tough competition.
My fans should use this as a excuse.
While me will be busy to manipulate BBs collection.

  • @ritwik, BB is not a failure… It will get a Hit status in time.. So Go to hell…

@Anand_the Unoriginal, Not many, Nly insecure haters are Questioning that Question…

For Haters try to understand difference between screens & screening… Bang Bang had 4300 screens but very low screenings compared to Other biggies bcoz Haider got some screenings on those screens…

Also the price in India is increased nly during Eid, Diwali & Christmas…

@Abhilash, Check your comment once again… You paid the same price for kick & Bang Bang but you cannot accept that price were not increased.. Lol..

@Movie Buff, Read carefully, Its clearly mentioned that its worldwide.. On worldwide BB has done better than Krrish 3.. & Bang Bang did more than krrish 3 on day One… Also he didnt mention mentioned that Krrish 3 had a record… He just said it surpassed krrish 3…

@Shaggy, With this much negativity (By fans of three Super stars combined) Salman can never reach 150cr…

  • Learn to accept failure Hrithik.
Salman’s film Jai Ho had almost no holidays, flop actress, flop director, flop trailer and flop music and still it did 110 crore. But Salman did not give any excuses and accepted that Jai Ho was a disappointment.
But here Bang had 5 holidays, Top actress, Top music and great trailer and still underperformed. And Hrithik is giving excuses.

  • Dear hritik pls accept failiure like srk for Ra.One and Salman for Jai ho failiures why so much manupulation from your side why cant you accept the truth.

  • Hrithik is right.
Can’t we be gentle sometimes and watch a movie just for fun!
    Seriously, can’t we?
Its our opinion and will. come on.

  • @nipun seriously??
how can u say k khans dont hav a movie in the top 5 list… height of hypocrisy.. u liked agneepath n znmd coz of hrithik.. I agree dey wer good movies but according to me dey arent in d top 5… n even I can say hrithik fans wil know watz d truth.
if u liked a movie dat doesnt mean everyone else wud hav liked it too.. u may publish ur comment as its ur list but no need to add everyone else wil agree or if der wernt dey r lying… to me CE was far better dan ur agneepath..I wud say d same abt kick.
list wil change from person to person.. u just cant impose ur list on everyone else… try to develop a spirit of respecting others opinion too

  • @Tiger – The Fake king… This is a reply to your reply at 05:11pm
    Pehle tax calculate karna seekh…
Tax of 30% is calculated on gross…

    137.47 x 30%= 41.24 Crores…

    94.13Cr [Plus] Nett 41.24 Tax = 137.47 Cr Gross…

    Tax is 30% of gross… Not 30% of nett…

    Typical Dumb haters..

  • well accept the harsh reality…bb is a failure…semi hit….
    and yes bb has….beaten k3 collections…nd finally,hr accepts
k3.collections were less than 200cr…so in that aspect bb has beaten k3 collections…but oh bb worldwide collection is 200cr..so bb worldwide collections beat k3 domestic collections…hahaha…the last laugh…bb has disappointed me… nd is below average affair..

  • Super star Hrithik proved his box office power with Bang Bang….All three khan fan base bashed BB repeatedly….critics bashed it heavily someone said it is waste of time & money someone said it B grade bolly movie with A list budget…etc…So surrounded by such negativity Bang Bang servived and collecting satisfactory…So clear Hit status guaranteed now….Haters don’t waste ur energy now to bash BB bcz it is success now though it underperformed….

  • hey hritik.there r 52 weeks in a year and more than 250 films releases per year in Hindi only.so u can get solo release only when ur competitors afraid of ur stardom or of ur particular movie like last year krissh 3 which was solo release.there were two movies scheduled to release on 2nd Oct. haider n Marycom. latter was prepone.now come to ticket price.if u r sure abt ur product u can keep ticket rates higher.no one will stop u n pay happily but if ur product is not up to the mark whatever low price u keep people will not see it.I remember before multiplex era people sell tickets of rs. 30 was sold for 300. I myself purchased dhoom 2 ticket in 250.so next time plz dnt b overconfident n promote ur movie well.

  • @hrithik:What about the era before Dabangg when salman was’nt even in top 10???

And in future too,Hrithik will dominate..just needs a bit of luck and a good release situation like kick,ett,dabangg,dabangg2

  • HR is a true global superstar…he should stop fighting with Khans and should consider doing hollywood movies…Bang Bang during its run has never witnessed a deep fall during last 6 days…like the films which falls 60-70% every day with bad reviews. This shows Bang Bang was received well.

Bang Bang could sustain from falls only due to good WOM..It was only critics who did the damage by giving negative publicity. Otherwise even with competition it would have crossed 150+ crs by now…

When Bang Bang released everyone were waiting for its reviews due to huge hype..as soon as some first five – six reviews came the damage was already done. Hindustan times – my foot- called Bang Bang as Mindless movie. Rediif and some other critics too gave it very less ratings..But those critics who have given their reviews the next day like TOI, DC, Filmfare etc.. gave a good rating of 3- 3.5…

Which shows that many of reviewers were already feeling the pain of watching Haider in the morning and post that when they came to watch Bang Bang they were already exhausted and were still in Haider mood…

  • @damnn: did i force you to accept my list? I have clearly mentioned that that way my take. That list was based on quality, critical and audience response, N’t on one personal’s preference.

  • @babaji, BB got 5 back to back holydays in its 1week, 4200screens; still u want a better situation for hrithik movies…..

  • I watched Bang Bang again today at cinema and it’s showing in many screens in our cinemas and in the biggest ones.. It was just full of audience in all the rows and just topped all the movies. .. everyone was enjoying the film.

  • @Thullu : before Dabangg, there was Wanted, Partner, No Entry, Tere Naam. In 1999, Salman had 4 movies in Top 6 but haters cant see it they think Salman came only after Dabangg, I agree he was not as consistent as Srk or Hrithik had only KNPH, KMG, Dhoom 2 & Krishhh even he gave flops like Fiza, AMALL, NTJNH, Epic flop MPKDH, Yaadein !!!!! Before Dabangg, Salman had most number of Super Hits, ATBB with first movie as lead (Hrithik is the only second hero after him to have BB with first movie as lead), two highest grossers of two decades (MPK & HAHK) !!!!!!!! Still you people call him Dabangg made him star. Yes, it helped him to establish second innings or one of the huge comeback in industry but first innings was not forgetable either !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ticket prices wont increased as objective was to entice the parents as they would then pay for their kids… Sadly this strategy failed as most parents thought it made better sense financially to make the whole family just watch K&D- betrer movie tbh so good choice you parents in JaDuland…!

  • who r cmparing jai ho with Bang Bang may they didnt knw BB cross jai ho in 6day l0l..
@hrithik, Amir-salman is out of the superstar league where hr nd srk rulling upto 2008, and salman enters in 2010 with munni’s help.
BB wl do double of jai ho ww gross..
In overseas its dominating kick day wise earning…
Be calm BB got nly 70% of shows cmpare to D3, kick, ce, k3, still its roaring,
hope khans will release their movie in non festive period in clash, will c their power.. Just lyk talaash, DG, jai ho, veer, Jthj..
Jai ho didnt beat agneepath which is same month release b4 two year l0l…
