Buddha Hoga Tera Baap has been declared a FLOP by the trade. Here are some of the reasons..
- The theatrical business has failed to live up to expectations as the Amitabh Bachchan starrer opened to a disappointing response on Friday. The film was quite obviously affected by the release of biggies like Delhi Belly and Transformers 3.
- On weekdays the business was steady on the lower side, but not enough to recover its investment through theatrical business. The satellite rights have been sold for Rs 13.5 crores which will help the film break-even.
- Second week was always going to be crucial but the release of Murder 2 has meant that Buddha has been replaced at single screens by the Emraan Hashmi starrer.
- At multiplexes too Buddha Hoga Tera Baap has lost out on more than 60% of its shows, due to the release of Murder 2 and the craze amongst the youth for Delhi Belly has resulted in the exhibitors increasing the number of shows in its second week.
Overall, the craze for Delhi Belly along with the release of Murder 2 this week has affected Buddha badly. 2nd week collections are expected to be very low and the theatrical business of Amitabh Bachchan’s much hyped return-to-yesteryear roles will remain a mega disappointment!

IT ALSO KEEPS CHANGING WITH THe passage of time also .. certailny big b is not the flavour any more … there is so much experimentation going on that even yamla pagla deewana looks better than bbudaah .. there you had another bbudaah dharamendra who was also making an ass of himself.. but sunny and bobbys act saved him .. on the iifa awards he was called upon the stage to get lifetime achievemnt award and as usual gave a 20 mt speech much to the chagrin of sunny and bobby who stood witheir faces hung.. i thinlk after a point even devanand lost his marbles.. big b is no different.. he should just take a chillpilll and try to bring his son forward and watch from the balconies .. i think to him his sons success should be more important than his own .. his sons success has been long due .. but i think it is too late for that.. the new lot have overtaken him completely imraan ranbir ranveer and the new kids bhagnani etc are talented and have no pretensions.. one person i forgot to mention whom i like immensely is shahid kapur.. abhishek still has to do a jab we met kinda role to rreach shahid.. i think even shahid is ahead of abhishek in terms of popularity .. what do you say.. with time and age every actor will lose his /her fans to others .. that bigb has 9 lac followers is not the true reflection of his popularity .. but shahid is capable of attracting the same amount of crowd wherever he goes like big b
Well megha, I like Shahid too, i LOVED him in Kmainey and it was for me the best performance of the year. Yes he is a bit popular, he is talented but what he lacks is BO success taht will make him a big star. Just like Aamir in the 90’s, in fact Shahid reminds of Aamir a lot in almost evrything, they both have that chocolate lover boy image and that innocent baby face, i.e not now for Aamir of course when he was young, also Shahid as i said lacks BO success like Aamir in the 90’s that’s why he wa behind Salman and SRK at that time. Same goes for Shahid, wish Mausam brings him back, btw i liked the trailer.
As for Abhishek, i don’t think he’s as bad as he meant out to be, he’s an average actor with limited acting abilities, but the fact that he’s Amitabh Bachchan son made people expect a lot from him.
But his greatest problem in my opinion is that neither he’s good looking like Aamir, not charismatic like SRK or Amitabh and does not have good phisics like Hrithik or John. That’s why he is not successful today, and he is not even a star in my opinion, of course Shahid, Ranbir and even Imran are more popular now.
I think he should quit acting because it does not seem his passion, he does not have that passion for acting, i think they froced him to act…so now after all those series of disasters he should quit acting.
Also Imran is not a good actor, but he is good looking, and has presence onscreen, he has that charisma that attracts audience though his dialogue delivery is pretty poor. I wish he improves in the future.
Anyone who hates BHTB,unsab logo ki Beep ki Beep, Well its just 2nd week and BHTB recovered good money and doing good, i hope you rembember lot of Great movies did bad start but they picked as people start watching those movies , Sholay/Deewar are live example of this , so just wait for one more week then you will see where this movie ends as in reality BHTP is a very good family comedy movie. U can discuss this any where rather then just waiting for selected groups to discuss movies like DB which is great shame for this indian nation due to lots of Beeps in it.
