yes i am the same guy who gave 4 star to DDD and it got 50 cr. now lets see how long ur veer runs.

  • Amish: apparently u didn’t read my comment or u didn’t “concentrate” and read very fast.. what did I mention in my comment.. that everyone has the right to express their opinion but (no one) has the right to hurt a celibrity with bad language..yes.. ofcourse I’ll fight with anyone who would say bad stuff about Shahrukh because ppl hv no right to say that someone is gay, or he’s paying for the accolades, etc.. that is what’s considered (abusive) coz we didn’t see with our own eyes that this man did it.. so that’s my point.. so please read my comment posted again and try to understand it.

  • It’s a great movie from salman khan guys y r u fighting just go n watch the Salman Rocks in Each n every scene. Everything in this movie is good. A complete family film thats what we expect from Salman. After watching this movie everyone will say that its a paisa vasool movie. Salman Rocks…….. Blockbuster Veer….

  • As I have said before, this movie is a little over-hyped. The promos and music couldn’t generate enough hype and curiosity for everyone. Of course, hard-core and biased Sallu fans would go and watch any of his movies and they are probably looking forward to it because it was salman’s ‘most ambitious project and a project he wrote.’

That being said, as I have said before the fate of the movie is going to depend on the reaction from the critics and audiences. It is pretty clear that most critics are trashing it for being historically inaccurate, unintentionally funny, boring and silly. Although all of them applauded Salman’s performance.

Unless the single screens pick up really fast due to Salman’s huge fan following among single screen viewers, the film will sink without much of a trace.

My prediction: unless there is tremendously positive word of mouth among viewers, I would say the film is going to be a below average fare at the very best due to a decent opening thanks to salman’s star power.

So what excuses do all of u hardcore biased sallu fans have who claimed he will win all the awards for the film, and the film will be a blockbuster? You spoke too soon!!! lolz!!

  • @Indicine ..Yes All izz well.I am waiting 4 ur review i feel u ppl will be around 3 to 3.5 :) (I am expecting too much may be).One thing more it feels bad when ur favourite Actor’s movie goes bashed out like this by the reviewers. But the worst part is when ur fav actor haters without watching the movie thrash that.I loved the movie.Maybe majority won’t like it but what about these ppl who just praise one actor on every page n irritate u to the extreme what can i say???4 them i had to post such a review.I had to hilight the positives.I avoid rating movies coz who am I???But when i c ppl playing with others emotions I stood up 4 Salman. Now I really don’t care its a flop or hit I stood by Salman and his fans when they needed the most.

N Belive me audience was loving it.I alone can b wrong but were all the people in theater wrong??Taran always rates Salman’s movies at the last.I am sure MNIK review will be out atleast 3/4 days b4 the release.

  • But Fathiya mam if u fight with them wat will be d difference between u n dem? same thing will continue,i mean d abusive comments..;)

  • Amish: why don’t u get it? The purpose of posting this long comment is to (stop) ppl abusing each others, and stop them hurting the celibrites.. if they just stop it.. if they think correctly, if they try to respect everyone.. so.. Fathiya will be everyone’s friend.. we all will be friends.. and will not fight with anyone? Ohh Amish.. u don’t get it!!

  • @ Fathiya mam- i did understand it.. but only thing is none will follow it…;) If d so called RULES s not being followed ( which s published below) who will listen to ur long comment? thats all mam.
Being d eldest person here u r rt in advicing d kids but dont think it will be useful in any way here..;)

  • Review by one of the critics:
Salman Khan in a period film?!! I won’t deny I was a bit apprehensive about how Veer would turn up to be. Yes, from the look and feel it did look like a period film, but fifteen minutes into the film, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying the plot as we saw cannons roar, swords clash and men on galloping horses slaying one another on the battlefield.

Set in the times when the British were colonising India, Veer is a tale of bravery, treachery and love rolled into one. As the British enslave India with their shrewd ‘Divide and Rule’ policy, kings and nawabs fall to their guile and entrust their kingdom to them, one of them being Jackie Shroff, the Raja of Madhavgarh. He cheats the Pindaris, a fighter tribe from Rajputana, to please the British and loses his right hand to Prithvi Singh (Mithun Chakraborty).

Prithvi, one of the proud heads of the Pindaris, swears to return and kill every white man and the Raja to avenge the deception that cost his tribe, their land and their reputation. The vile Raja of Madhavpur too harbours a similar intention behind his cool demeanour. But as fate would have it, little did he realise that one day his daughter Jashodhara (Zarine Khan) would fall in love with the bravest of them all, Veer.

Now Veer not only takes on the British rulers, he also has to fight the cunning Raja of Madhavgarh. But then he has fallen head-over-heels in love Jasho and has killed her brother (Puru Raj Kumar) too. Will he succeed or won’t he is for you to figure out.

Salman seemed to be back in form. He has lost more weight this time and looked better than in Wanted. It felt good to see him dancing gracefully and emoting right at the same time, maybe because Salman himself has invested a lot in terms of story as well.

The discussion would be incomplete if we don’t talk about his action sequences and his dialogues. Like in Wanted, here too he has a few punch lines kept aside for his fans. Sample this: Ek bar leta hoon toh paanch ser gosht le ke hi chhodta hoon. If this was not all he goes on to prove it by actually killing a rebel Pindari with his bare hands by scooping out his flesh. And guess what he comes up with? ‘Tol lena, paanch ser se zyada hi hoga.” Woof!!

Salman even tries to do a Phool Aur Kaante stunt a la Ajay Devgan but of course on horses instead of two bikes. It wouldn’t be wrong to say it’s Salman’s film all the way but one person who actually stole the thunder with his fantastic support was Mithun Chakraborty. Expectations grew and sparks flew every time Mithun appeared on screen. Watching him was sheer delight. Also the chemistry the two of them portray as father and son is commendable.

Sadly, Sohail Khan as Punya was no different than in any of his other films. He simply tries to be funny. Loyal to the core, he plays Veer’s younger brother who follows him around like a shadow and he loves to flirt, that is when he is not fighting enemies. The scene where he romances a firang girl on the branch of a tree is hilarious.

As for the female counterparts, Neena Gupta as Mithun’s wife looked the part. The heroine, Zarine Khan, who allegedly is a Katrina lookalike, is far from resembling Kat with her chubby features. No doubt she has a pretty face with a sweet smile but wears the same expression throughout the film (boring!). She urgently needs to shed those extra pounds to bag another film.

Anil Sharma’s contribution as a director was probably till the time he brought the actors together. Though there was no dearth of grandeur, the cinematography is decent – especially the scenes shot in the palaces and forts – the special effects look tacky. Sharma has paid no attention to maintain the continuity in Salman’s hairstyle, which keeps changing every now and then. One may argue it was required for the different getups he seeks to befool his enemies, but then the locks can’t grow back so fast. Can they?

The saving grace of the film is its pace. And the action scenes that make you watch the film till the end.

VERDICT: The film may open very well at single screens because of Salman’s popularity.

I would go with 2/5 for the film and 1 for Sallu-Mithun chemistry. RATING: 3/5

  • indicine what happens happened now the most important thing business.

  • @Hina- i loved your review……. only u should not reveal dat veer is going to die at the end……. but whatever the critics r saying…. don’t go with it……. i saw it n lovd d muvi…salman was stupendous.. so was mithun…. surprised 2 see jackie shroff’s acting… he was good after a long tym… zarine looked very beautiful n pretty……….lisa was hardly there.. overall 4/5 from me… go and watch this veer… u won’t get disappointed!!!!

occupancy was arnd 40% in the morning show, which is i’ve experienced after a long tym wid a salman’s movie in kolkata… but if audiences are shouting n clapping watching a movie in a multiplex…. den u can imagine how the movie was!!

  • Though I don’t want to highlight the negative points……. but the length and some over the top scenes(predictable from director anil sharma) may not go with all…… but the movie is not at all bad… as taran adarsh has said!!!!

  • punter we know you are a srk fan and dull response in india even if veer can do a business of 3-4cr net on single screens it will be the best first day ever at single screens. and early est do show like 6-8cr net and 3-3.5 net from single screens
