It’s now time for us to implement the concept of our newly introduced ‘Star Power model’ and find out the leading actors of our country. This piece will evaluate the Top 5 Superstars of 2014. Before proceeding, let us clarify on a few vital points.
1. In the initial stages, this ranking will purely be specific to a calendar year. We’ll judge the star power for a single year in one article, like this article focuses on 2014 only. These rankings shall not be based upon the overall career of any actor and there may be a scenario when the star power of an established superstar ‘A’ falls behind that of a new superstar ‘B’ in a particular year.

A very good article but some major mistakes…
How can you consider the release date of Bang Bang to b Normal. It had one advantage of a national holiday against 2 disadvantages – 1) Clash with a critically acclaimed film. 2) It was Dussehra (Pre diwali), people will b busy in poojas n other rituals. it has always been a dull period for Bollywood films….
Not necessary that release date factor should be 25/0/-25… It can b intermediate too n Bang Bang deserves atleast 5%….
Another mistake is how can you consider Director to b a positive factor in Bang Bang, except for salaam namaste none of his films been hits…
You gave -4 for bang bang n Pk for director….. Does that mean Raju Hirani n Siddharth Anand create the same excitement in the audience?
HNY is understandable sinxe it was srk n farah combo but No way Siddhart anand contributed anything for opening figures…..
If a bad director means 4 n excellent director like raju means -4 then siddharth Anand as an avg director should get “0”….
So bottom line is X-Factot for Hrithik Roshan will b 25.5% which means his star power is 20.48cr……. At the 2nd spot..
How come the ticket factor for HNY, PK, BB is same even if the diff is 6rs.. But for jai ho, kick, Entertainment, Holiday its 4 whereas price ranges from 103.2 to 117.
For Pk it should be -4, BB n HNY -2, Kick 1 as it is near the average price, Holiday, Jai ho n entertainment should have 2, 3, 4 as ticket factor based on how much is the difference between avg n actual price.. Best option would be to calculate footfals using avg ticket price for the film n then multiply it by avg ticket price for that year (118 for 2014)… This one would b fair than tje current one…

I guess there is a slight mistake in the article, farah khan as director is considered as a plus point in the article and thats why 4% has been deducted while we consider farah khan a negative point and because of her bad direction hny suffered a lot. so if she was considered a negative point, 4% would have been added to the star value and the total star value of SRK would have been 26 cr which means 4 cr higher than Salman!

Indicine you can’t reduce 4% for post ipl release as it is no such a festival that people will rush to theatres..you definitely need to rethink indicine on that..i mean people still think before going for a movie it definitely is not a festival sort i mean in the long run maybe the matches are not there so it will be okay..but actually the movie releasing in ipl have a little disadvantage..but there is hf2 a superhit..and post ipl is just a normal release as it can get..so do rethink about that..it is just a normal release indicine do rethink and it is not like ipl over so government declared a holiday..its just that the level had gone below normal and is back to normal..so just a normal release indicine..

In terms of opening SRK is no.1..he took the box office to a new level when happy new year collected around 45 crore on a single day itself.even in this decade he has managed to break opening weekend records 3 times..without SRK,deepika padukone manages a 5 crore opening and abhishek bachchan is even worse..and we all know how big a director farah khan is and u guys are rating her on the same scale as raju hirani..the gap between three khans is not huge but srk is no.1 at the moment
