Top 5 Actors in Bollywood – Box office battle

There has been a lot of discussion in the comments section as to who the Top 5 actors in Bollywood are at the moment. Most in the Singh Is King Box office collection topic were of the opinion that Akshay Kumar post Singh is King has gone past Shahrukh Khan as the King of Bollywood.

So we decided to do some research on the Top 5 actors in Bollywood and their last 5 movies. The actors included in the battle are Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

The results were quite unexpected. A few things before we give you the numbers.

Some points to remember are, actors with more releases in recent times (Post 2006) have an advantage over actors whose movies released in say 2003. That is because of the mutliplexes that have come up all over the country and also the increase in the number of prints.

So Akshay Kumar has a much bigger advantage over Aamir Khan as Aamir’s 5th movie Dil Chahta Hai released in 2001, when there were hardly any multiplexes. Also dont forget the inflation!

Here are the number.

5. Salman Khan – Salman Khan is at Number 5. We havent taken God Tussi Great Ho into count as it has just released last week and its final gross is awaited. He mainly suffers because of Marigold, as it did less than 1 crore of business in India! Salman has just one Blockbuster i.e Partner.

  • Jaan-E-Mann (2006) – 27 crores – Flop
  • Babul (2006) – 17 crores – Flop
  • Saalam-e-Ishq (2007) – 24 crores – Flop
  • Partner (2007) – 62 crores – Blockbuster
  • Marigold (2007) – 1 crore – Disaster

Total – 131 crores
Average – 26.2 crores per movie.

4. Aamir Khan – Aamir Khan although at a huge disadvantage is at Number 4. Imagine if Dil Chahta Hai had released today? It would have grossed atleast a minimum of 50 crores at the box office. Still since his come back the perfectionist has 2 Superhits and 1 Blockbuster to his credit.

  • Dil Chahta Hai (2001) – 16 crores – Hit
  • Mangal Pandey (2005) – 29 crores – Average
  • Rang De Basanti (2006) – 51 crores – Super Hit
  • Fanaa (2006) – 53 crores – Super Hit
  • Taare Zameen Par (2007) – 61 crores – Blockbuster

Total – 210 crores
Average – 42 crores per movie.

3. Shahrukh Khan – Has been affected big time due to the failure of Paheli. It didnt even get a face saving opening at the box-office and did just 13 crores. Rest of his movies have done well. KANK and Don bearly managed to go on to be hits. Chak De and Om Shanti Om were blockbusters.

  • Paheli (2005) – 13 crores – Flop
  • Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006) – 46 crores – Above Average to Hit
  • Don (2006) – 50 crores – Hit
  • Chak De India (2007) – 64 crores – Blockbuster
  • Om Shanti Om (2007) – 87 crores – Blockbuster

Total – 260 crores
Average – 52 crores per movie.

2. Akshay Kumar – Now this was a real toughie. But we decided to push Akshay Kumar down to second due to several reasons. He is the only star to not have a single solo ‘Blockbuster’ to his credit (Welcome was a multistarrer with Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Nan Patekar). Although we have included Singh Is King, it has not completed its complete run at the boxoffice. We had to predict the total nett gross of Singh Is Kinng to 72 crores (44 crores in week one is confirmed + 18 crores in week 2 is also confirmed + 6 crores in week 3 and about 4 crores in the rest of the weeks is a prediction). The other reason for placing him at second is he is the only actor who has the advantage of every movie releasing Post – 2006. No release in the Pre multiplex era of India Cinema.

  • Heyy Babyy (2007) – 52 crores – Super hit
  • Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) – 54 crores – Super hit
  • Welcome (2007) – 76 crores – Blockbuster (Multistarrer)
  • Tashan (2008) – 31 crores – Flop
  • Singh Is King (2008) – 72 crores – Hit to Super hit

Total – 285 crores
Average – 57 crores per movie.

1. Hrithik Roshan – By far the youngest actor in the list, Hrithik Roshan by pure box office numbers of India, tops although by a very close margin. 2 solo blockbusters (KMG, Krrish), 1 multi star Blockbuster (Dhoom 2) and 1 Super hit (Jodha Akbar). His only failure in the last 4 years has been Lakshya which did average business at the boxoffice. A great comeback after about 6 failures in a row after Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.

Hrithik also has two movies pre 2006 which is a disadvantage.

  • Koi Mil Gaya (2003) – 44 crores – Super Hit
  • Lakshya (2004) – 23 crores – Average
  • Krrish (2006) – 66 crores – Blockbuster
  • Dhoom 2 (2006) – 86 crores – Blockbuster
  • Jodhaa Akbar (2008) – 63 crores – Super Hit

Total – 282 crores
Average – 56.4 crores per movie.

The whole list might change when Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Chandni Chowk To China release in December. SRK could make it to the top if Rab Ne works big time. How Chandni Chowk fares will also be interesting. Hrithik’s kites releases in the summer of 2009 and there is news that it could be sold for 100 crores if not more. Aamir Khan’s Ghajini too releases this year end and is expected to create boxoffice history.

We will post an update here after all the 3 movies; Rab Ne, Chandni Chowk and Ghajini release.

Note – These figures are only of how the movies fared at the Indian Box-office. Shahrukh Khan is the undisputed king of the overseas box-office. Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan come a close second and third.

Lets discuss below, if you dont agree with the article please post a comment on why. Thank you for reading.

  • Ashok: I do.. but till no. 5, u ranked them correctly although I consider SRK & Hrithik, both as number 1, and u missed out one who deserves to be in the list (Sanjay Dutt), if I would make a list of the top 10 actors in bollywood, it would be as follows:

    1) Shahrukh & Hrithik
    2) Aamir Khan
    3) Akshay Kumar
    4) Saif Ali Khan
    5) Sanjay Dutt
    6) Abhiskeh Pachan
    7) Salman Khan
    8) Shahid Kapoor
    9) John Abraham
    10) Arjun Rampal ( he’s doing recently supporting roles, but I’m sure, He’ll play the leading roles in future, he is good and deserves to be in the list)

Anil Kapoor is not in any leading role any more, only in supporting roles, therefore I didn’t add him although he’s a very good actor.

BigB is exceptional, no rating for him, Naseeruddin Shah, Anoopam Kher, Om Puri, they r also supporting actors.

    Indicine Team:

What about the top 5 or 10 actresses in Bollywood? Let’s discuss this too, for me the top actresses are:

    1) Madhuri Dixit.. Maduri Dixit.. Madhuri Dixit ( even if she’s away and didn’t do lots of movies, but she’s the best)
    2) Aishwariya Rai
    3) Karina Kapoor
    4) Priyanka Chopra
    5) Kajol
    6) Rani Mukerji
    7) Preity Zinta
    8) Katrina Keif
    9) Sushmita Sen
    10) Tabu

Katrina is the most beautiful face ( after Aishwariya) but I couldn’t keep her in the top 5 as she still needs to work hard and gain experience, to improve her acting skills

What about my list Indicine Team? Do u agree with it?

  • hiiiiiiiiiiiiii evry1 i champ am nw on dis site
seein d war goin on betwwn whus d bollywood king………i m sick of itz
itz SRK……….no doubt abt dat fathiya u r righ in all ur commentz
raj n all srk haterz plzzzzzz get out of dis site……akshay still haz a long way 2 go……..
jus wait 4 srkz rnbdj n den v vill c…………..
    till den
    “HAIL KINNNNG SRK”

  • I hate so very much Shah rukh Khan.

    My favourite actors are:

    1. AKSHAY KING KUMAR
    2. Sanjay Dutt
    3. Sunil Shetty
    4. Govinda
    5. Salman Khan

  • Ashok!!!! U are a stupid guy. My list is 100% correct bcs Im not watching the star value. Abhishek Bachan doent know acting at all. Atleast Ajay, Sunny, Shahid,Nana patekar can act more than him. Without Amitabh he is nothing. And saif ali Khan!!!! That monkey….. He knows only waw waw…. He doesnt speak his dialoque correctly……..He cannot come in top 10 .So keep shut ur mouth……. Even sunny deol is better than these two…And now Srk is not at no.1 ………..The new king akshay is at no.1………

  • Indicine Team Hi: when is the release date for Shahrukh’s movie Rab ne Bande Jodi? Is it during diwali or Eid?

And u didn’t answer my question when u said that the media select the King of Bollywood and u said it’s based on the actor.. if he is so friendly with them!! Now this point ( if he’s friendly wth them) is not convincing or a reasonable!) there must be some other reasons e.g. the one who’s movies r the most successful ones in bollywood, and if it’s based on the movies, and at the box office, then the four of them r successful, Shahrukh, Akshay, Hrithik & Aamir.

And what about the queen of bollywood indicine team? Is it Aishwariya Rai?

  • Fathiya it depends on what we are talking about. If its about boxoffice power of both Overseas and India together then SRK, Akshay and Hrithik. If you ask me who i feel are the best actors. My fav is Hrithik and Aamir then SRK.

If you ask me about most popular actress today it has to Kareena and Katrina even though Katrina cant act and Kareena has just got one odd hit in years!!!!

  • Thanks Ashok. About actresses: The most popular is nothing to do with the most favourite: Angelina Julie is the most popluar actress in Hollywood now but I hate her, she’s a hypocrite and she’s not even a good actress. She became popular because she is married to Brad Pett and adopting some kids, that’s all.

Kareena & Katrina r the most popluar now but my favourite is Madhuri ( and I admire Liza Ray who is not a pure Indian actress and did some few movies and I saw only 3 of her movies: Bollywood Hollywood, Kasoor & Water). So if Akshay Kumar is Number (1) now, but my favourite is Shahrukh and will be always Shahrukh.

AND U ALL.. SHAHRUKH HATERS.. WHO WILL LISTEN TO U, FEW ON THIS WEBSITE HATE SHAHRUKH, BUT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE LOVE HIM, VISIT OTHER WESITES AND SEE SHAHRUKH’S FANS THERE.. U R NOT THE VOICE OF INDIA, U R NOT THE JUDGES OR THE T.V. OR RADIO ANNOUNCERS TO SAY ON BEHALF OF PEOPLE THAT NO ONE LIKE HIM ANYMORE!!!

  • All Akshays fans……a good news for u……Now akshay has signed a contract with UTV movies..He will take 71 crores for one film……..Now he was the highest paid actor and no one can beat him……Imagine 71 crores……………….Where is shahrukh…………Nowhere around him……….
    SO AKSHAY KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fathiya also see the akshays fans in other sites………All the media is saying that akshay is a new king. All like akshay……..I agree srk fans are also in huge number but his haters are also there but akshays haters are nowhere all like srk……. This is a reward to akshay of his hard work,Honesty, Dedication. His simplicity is his main power……………..So AKshay man u rock!!!!!!!

  • Punjabi Sher, 71 Cr includes his fee , territory business, tv rights and some % share of profits…
it was given in Times headlines here i believe Times wants somebody els to take centre stage other than SRK alone. but again 71 Cr is a very good number. I believe his paid in the range of 30-35 crs as fee.
Even Akki has denied this peice of news.
I heard SIK has done much more business than OSO here im not taking abt only box ofice business.
An actor cannot be paid 71 cr cheque for a movie in such a case the movie business shud be sure shot more than 150 crs.
But bottomline is Media wants Akki to be no.1

  • Yes Aryan U are right……..But it is the highest paid QAmount anybody has given in the bollywood history…..
Akshay is the real king of bollywood.

  • Congratulations for Akshay Kumar, we wish him all the best – if this news is true – but this doesn’t mean that some people have the right to ask Shahrukh to quit bollywood just because there’s someone else who’s getting a higher paid and did some successful movies recently!! It’s so rude what some of u said on this website about shahrukh, asking him to leave!! then if u r right, why don’t u ask all the big superstar e.g. Hrithik, Aamir, Saif and others to leave bollywood, to make a big space only for Akshay Kumar!!

What if Akshay (failed) in future and didn’t do some good movies?!! What if his future movies didn’t satisfy u as audiences?! R u going to change your mind about him and say negative things ( and I’m sure that this will happen.. today u love, worship someone, but tomorrow u forget about him, u would hate him) as lots of u hate Shahrukh now and I’m sure, that most of u loved him in the past. ( and why hate him now and consider him a failure although his last 2 movies were best movies (Chakde India & OSO!!) why r u against him?!! I got no answer for my question yet!

  • Ashok, thanks for the answer. 12th December is indeed the release date of SRK’s next. Billo Barber has been postponed to 2009.

About your Top 10 actresses, it really depends Fathiya. If you consider the most popular actress of this generation then Madhuri Dixit features nowhere. Aaja Nachle was a huge disaster. Madhuri was very popular in the late 80s and 90s. But her popularity has died down considerably post her marriage. Her choice of movie for a comeback was also very wrong.

Current generation post 2000. Its Aishwarya who is the most popular if you count both India and overseas. Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Kajol are all still very popular. But Bollywood still lacks a quality young actress. No talent in the league of a Madhuri, Kajol or even a Rani has come up post 2000.

Do you readers want us to make a new topic on Top 5 or Top 10 actress? What should it be based on? Current box-office status and remuneration or talent?

  • Indicine Team: I know that Madhuri left Bollywood due to her marriage, but, if we compare her qualifications as an actress with the current actresses of bollywood, with Aishwariya, Kareena, Katrina, Priyanka etc, so no one is as good as Madhuri for the following reasons:

No one can act in serious and sad scenes like Madhuri does
No one got the charm, charisma, presence as Madhuri does
No one smile, laugh, as Madhuri does
No one dance as Madhuri does
And.. no one has the inner and outer beauty as Madhuri does ( she’s just like shahrukh khan but the opposite sex)

She was the best in bollywood after Waheedha Rehman, Veeganti Mala & Mumtaz. Madhuri did some good & bad movies ( and most of bollywood actresses did so) but she was exceptional, and what gave really a value to the movie Devdas was Madhuri.

I always admired her, and if she came back after 6 years and did a movie which she thought would be a successful and didn’t do well, it wasn’t her fault, and the movie was quite good, not bad with a good script and direction, and some good songs, and whoever watched Aja Nachle in Bahrain ( I mean Bahraini audience) they loved the movie, it’s just in India and which the fact is that Indian people’s taste is so different than other nationalities!! It’s so sad.. really sad when some good movies flop e.g. LS2050 which I’m still sorry for Harry & Harman Baweja who cameup with a very good script and a good movie and didn’t satisfy the majority in India! (I heard an announcer in the t.v. saying: the movie didn’t have much to offer!!!!!) Now if a movie like LS2050 didn’t have much to offer in the script, then the stupid JTYJN had soooo much to offer for the audience?!!! I just don’t understand how the indian audience evaluate any movie?! They consider sometimes some crappy crappy stupid silly movies as excellent, and they love it!) And why should I be surprised.. sometimes I do ask myself this question if so far thousands of indian still love Rajanikanth’s movies!!!!)

  • Fathiya I would be really keen to read your review on Love Story 2050. It would be a very interesting read. As quite frankly the movie had nothing to offer! It was rejected unanimously by audience world over.

Have you posted your Love Story Review somewhere?

  • Indincine Team: Maybe u r a new member on the team of Indicine!! read my comments under LS2050 movie review or the box office and you will find many comments there in a way that I just bothered some readers on your website! and the reason was – as I mentioned earlier – couldn’t under stand why people rejected this nice movie and loved that crap JTYJN!! I won’t mention under this page any thing about the movie as u got lots of comments there ( and please read my comments about JTYJN too) then get back to me. You said it was rejected word over, and who watch overseas indian movies other than indian people.. Yes.. we, other nationalities do watch your movies but we are only 10% and 90% overseas are indians, am I right?

  • More to add Indicine Team: Indian people loved many crap movies e.g. Golmaal, Kiya Cook Hai Hum, Hera Pherry, Welcome, Hangama etc. In addition, some stupid movies for Govinda which I couldn’t stand them.. and now, Golmaal2 wl be released for Eid I assume. I’m sure and (very sure) that this crap would be considered as “great”! and definitely will be a hit at the box office! believe me.. I lost my patience while watching the one minute trailer and changed the channel, so how could the audience love this crap and laugh for some meaningless movies?!! I was feeling very sorry for a qualified actor like Ajay Devgan to do this crap ( feeling sorry also for Kareen Kappor who is after the box office success.. she’d do anything just to win the audience!!)

So the question is: If such a movie won at the box office ( this relates to my previous comments) does it mean that the movie was good or there is a problem with the audience’s taste and mentality?!

  • I have gone through complete list of comments and after reading all the comments I came to the conclusion that “Indicine Team” and “Fathiya” both are quite Biased and prefer others over Akshay Kumar. I have no complain for Fathiya since she is just an user here and she can give comments on the basis of what she feels but to IndiCine Team it should not be in this way since they are the moderator here and they are the only people who came out with this list. They are suppose to defend their list only on the basis of facts, that’s it, nothing more. Please don’t take it personal, I am just trying to make this site more successful by providing my feedback to Indicine Team.

I feel like Indicine team is supporting Fathiya fully since they have the same favourites. So Indicine team from next time please be careful and it would be nice if you take my advice in a positive note and accept it as a feedback and nothing more.

    Thank you.

  • Hey …….I m waiting for the next movie of my akki. Chandni chauk to china…… It will be the greatest hit of this two decades……………….

  • Hey Mintu, Thanks for your feedback. Appreciate it.

No we aren’t biased towards any member, reader, movie or actor. But then we would simply delete any comment that doest make sense or a comment that doesnt add anything to the discussion. Someone here was posting “I hate Shahrukh Khan” more than 5 times in each comment. And more than 10 such comments were posted. It just doesnt really make any sense nor does it add any value to the discussion. Criticism, bashing is fine as long as its healthy and sensible.

  • These numbers do well in this years…..but think about dil chahata hai.. it would be the biggest blockbuster ….so far released.it would be a hit in regional langages also.

    I Had this numbers

    1.akshay
    2.aamir
    3.sharukh
    4.hrithik
    5.salman

  • Kudos to Fathiya!
I am in complete agreement with you and your thoughts about the mentality and taste of the mass Indian public, which of late lays very little emphasis on talent and quality. Ajaa Nachale was a beautiful film and yet it was a disaster at the box office. In this forum, let us leave popularity and box office success completely out of the equation. Let us focus on talent and quality and compile our ratings’ lists accordingly. As a nudge, here is my list:

    1.Madhuri Dixit
    2. Aishwarya Rai
    3. Tabu
    4. Kajol
    5. Vidya Balan

It is sad that these days we seriously lack female talent. Perhaps, because producers sign on actresses based on beauty and figure rather than acting ability, unlike the olden days. We are really missing out in this area. Just remember the passionate Vijayantimala, the simple Nutan, the elegant Sharmila Tagore, the beautiful Sadhna, the intense Meena Kumari, the striking Waheeda Rehman and the alluring Mumtaz. Today’s heroines pale in comparison. That is why on my list I can only name the five who have any ability at all. Sorry and no offense intended to fans of Kareena, Katrina, Malaika, etc.
    After all, picture this:
a] Kareena Kapoor as Mother India in place of Nargis!
b] Katrina as Waheeda Rehman’s Rosie in Guide!
c] Rani in place of Madhubala in Mughal e Azam!
d] Priyanka as the loving mother Sharmila in Aradhna!

All laughable scenarios, I rest my case…

  • Hello Dr. Patel,

Yes.. we do share the same opinion, and sorry that I forgot to mention Sharmila Tagour, nowadays actresses would never be able to act like Sharmila in Aradhna. I saw Aradhna during the release time 9 times in cinema and I got it in my videos’ and I watch it from time to time. Who can perform in sad scenes like Sharmila, best scenes in the movie when her dad dies and she’s pregnant, when she have her baby in the hospital and hold him very close to her face and weep deeply with that sad song which made me cry and cry. And Waheeda Rehman in Guide ( one of my favourite old movies) and Veegantimala in Sangam, and Sangam is the best indian movie which I’ve seen so far ( 20 times since the release date), and Mumtaz in Aap Ki Kasam, no one except just one (Madhuri Dixit) she’s the only capable actress in bollywood, the only talent bollywood got, the only graceful actress… Oh.. I just love her, adore her, producers ( must not) let her go.. they must shower her with lots of movies, best scripts, I love to see her with Shahrukh again.

Do u know why Dr. Paten they don’t concentrate on the talent now? because the new generation are very “shallow” just want ahahaha.. hehehe.. some meaningless movies, and my conclusion is based on what I hear, what I see, there r lots of good and very good movies flop at the box office and mostly which have sad scripts, pure romantic and serious movies.. so does this taste ( very bad taste) make any good movie a bad one?! I’m on your websites just to prove this point.. that it’s so wrong to consider any good movie as a bad one just because it didn’t do well at the box office.

Just imagine that the movie Guide or Araadhna was released for the new generation, do u think that they would’ve been hit or super hit movies as they were in the past? 100% would’ve been flop movies and the audience would have said: Yaar.. what a crap.. we came to enjoy and have a good time not to cry and see poeple’s grief and sorrows on the screen!

  • Dear Fathiya,
Today’s generation is very low in intellect. Every word of yours in completely true. We can only hope and pray that the next generation will be more sensible. Just as grandchildren are always drawn to their grandparents, I can only hope that the next generation will demand better films. Today’s genration is just a washout and should just be written off! Kya zamana agaya hai ~ ghor kalyug, ghor kalyug…

  • Dr. Patel:

More to add: Tabu is a very good actress, she’s serious and funny in the same time, loved her movies Verasat, Astitva & Chini Cum
Kajol: although she’s a good actress but she wasn’t my favourite ( I loved her roles in KKHH & Fanaa)
    Rani: Just a good actress
Aishwariya: A good actress but her beauty is the main reason for her success

Madhuri’s best roles were in : Betaa, Anjaam Koyla & Devdas

  • Fathiya Jiii u r a mind blowing knowledge of Bollywood film industry , if a lady like you have seen a movie of Mumtaz, than of waheeda Rehman, Nargiz

I like to add one more lady among this that is Nutan she is also a natural actresss

    My fav old movies

    ANARI – NARGIZ great actRESS

TERE GHAR KE SAMNE – DEV ANAND & NUTAN

thats true u said among current generation of Female actress no one compare madhuri dixit she is an amazing actress all other all new commers has to take inspiration from her.

MANY GREAT MOVIE MADHURI DIXIT DID AMONG THEM MY BEST –
    1) HUM APKE HAI KAUN
    2) GAJ GAMINI
    3) MIRTYUDAND
    4) SANGEET

MANY MORE GREAT MOVIES MADHURI DID EVEN I LIKE HER IN DIL TU PAGAL HAI & DEVDAS SHE DONE A BETTER JOB THAN KARISHMA KAPOOR AND AISHWARYA RAI

U SEE HER DANCE IN THE FILM TRIDEV WHERE MADHURI, SANGEETA BIJLANI & SONAM DANCING GAJAR NE KIYA HAI ISHAARA U FIND MADHURI DANCE BETTER THAN OTHER TWO

AT THE TIME OF DIL TU PAGAL HAI SHE IS NOT THAT MUCH FASTER THAN KARISHMA KAPOOR IN DANCING DUE TO HER AGE BUT SHE LOOK GEORGOUS THAN HER.

SAME IN THE CASE OF MALE SECTION

I LIKE TO SAY DILIP KUMAR – DEVANAND – RAJKAPOOR THIS THREE LEGEND ARE GREAT AT THAT PERIOD MANY FILMS WHICH ARE MARVELLOUS

DILIP KUMAR STARDOM IS BREAK BY RAJESH KHANNA BUT I LIKE TO SAY HE IS SUPER STAR NOT A GREAT ACTOR

FOR RAJESH KHANNA I LIKE TO ADD, THAT IN THE PAST OR IN THE PRESENT OR I WILL LIKE TO SAY IN FUTURE NO ONE CAN COMPARE HIS STAR POWER, HE IS REALLY A SUPER DUPER STAR THAN N E ONE…………….

BUT HIS STARDOM IS BROKEN BY THE GREAT EVER GREEN AMITABH BACHAN……………………. HE IS AN IDENTITY OF BOLLYWOOD AROUND THE WORLD MANY MANY N MANY OF HIS FILM ARE MY FAVOURITE BUT EVEN THOUGH AT ONE POINT OF TIME HE ALSO CANNOT BREAK RAJESH KHANNA STARDOM WHAT HE HAS IN HIS TIME……………

IN TODAYS GENERATION WHAT DILIP HAS WHAT RAJESH HAS N WHAT AMITABH HAS A STARDOM ONLY ONE STAR CAN BE SAID THAT MUCH POWER,,,,,,,,, THAT IS THE ONLY ONE SHAHRUKH KHAN…………

HE COPY DILIP KUMAR, RAJESH KHANNA, AMITABH BACHAN HE HIMSELF SAID………………….

    BUT HE IS SIMPLY GREAT…………………………

SHAHRUKH (MALE)- MADHURI(FEMALE) IS THE BEST ACTOR BOLLYWOOD HAVE TODAY

  • God bless u Sajid for your comment, let me ask u some questions and hope if u would answer, or if u hv no answer, Dr. Patel would do please:

What happened to Rajesh Khanna?! I haven’t seen any actor who was a super duper star and was (shattered) when his stardom started to wink or fade!! this was obvious from some interviews which I saw for him, from the way he looked in some shows, pictures, that he was shattered in his career and in his personal life. Why?? A new star come, so it doesn’t mean that a star has to go, to leave!! why does this happen only in bollywood?!!

Sajid: I didn’t consider Dil To Paagal Hai as a great movie although it was a huge success because I didn’t like Shahrukh’s role in the movie.

Hum Aap Kai Hai Kon was quite good, not too good because it had many songs (14 songs) in the movie!
Nutan was a good actress but I can’t recall any movie which I really admired for her.

I loved Merityudand, loved Madhuri’s acting with Shabana (Oh.. Shabana, we forgot to mention her name.. she’s a great actress, actually she was my favourite actress before Madhuri. I just admired her guts, her perfomance in Arth & Bahavna and loved Masoom. I find myself in her ( and people used to tell me that we both r similar. when I was younger in my age, everyone used to tell me that I got her face, that I look like her, not only the face even the personality!)

  • wel i guess this is going bac a bit too much…
times hav changed plp hav changed industry has changed
n expecting the same again cannot b fed we shud move on…
today money speaks…so producers will hire plp who draw more money than talent…
as far as talent, intellectuality is concerned i thnk plp shud start watching stage shows(No offence)
v get hw many films a yrs 100-125 or more…n out of these i thnk we end up getting some 10-15 movies which r critically acclaimed…i guess this wud b the same number even in old days…
may b RC Patel n Fathiya can giv us a good number…
Earlier i dont hink bollywood used to release these many movies, directors used hav a lot f time to prepare for themselves…
I feel talent has taken over by entertainment…plp want smile on thr face due to excess stress…they want to forget the entire world and sit 4 3hrs n get entertained to the fullest…
that is y comic/masala movies draw more plp…i want it that way bcoz serious movies r good once in a while not always…
one last thng thr is grt perception of plp that if a person enacts serious role than he is the greatest actor
jus try to make a serious person laugh out of his senses…NOT A EASY JOB SIR/MADAM

  • Aryan: what u hv mentioned is correct, that out of 100 only 10-15 movies r good, that was even in the past, very few Indian movies were good but there’s also a fact which u didn’t mention and which is that in the past, good and great movies used to win at the box office whether it was a serious, drama or romantic and people could distinguish good from bad, but nowadays, something went wrong with people’s mentality.. they consider a crap as a best movie and sometimes a good as a crap ( and a very very good example is the movie JTYJN.. what a crap ppl loved!!, a boring movie with no story)

Yes Aryan.. many ppl on this web and on others said that we go to cinema just to enjoy, have fun, therefore, we need to watch entertaining movies, and this doesn’t mean that we r some “serious” people talking about movies, I do love comedy movies too, I love some commercial type movies too, but all depends on the script, direction of any movie as well as the performance. I loved some pure comedy movies e.g. (Masti & No Entry) I found them good, funny movies, but the rest r not which I mentioned earlier in my comments, including Malaika Sherawat’s some new movies Ugly or Pagli.. this malika who’s good only for porn movies considered as (a beautiful!!) I don’t like her at all, she’s not beautiful and got ugly voice, ugly character too!!

Don’t u think Aryan that nowadays ppl don’t even know how 2 evaluate actors too?! good from bad not only with movies but even with actors.. now tell me: Who is this scum who’s name is Riya Sin? Why is she always in the news in all the websites? She never did any leading role in any good movie, she’s a trashy actress which is in the same category with Malika, Malaaika, Amrita Arora and many others! Is it because of the beauty of her face and skin?! I think so.. a beautiful doll but with ugly spirit and no talents!!
