At a time when Bollywood was desperately in need of a blockbuster, Salman Khan has delivered and how! Wanted is the first Blockbuster of 2009 and the craze for the movie in India has to be witnessed to be believed. The word of mouth is by far the positive, as the movie has been universally accepted and while the collections at multiplexes have witnessed the usual weekly drop (around 40%), its at the single screen where all the ‘Wanted’ action is taking place.
Business at single screen across the country is rock steady, at several centers better than its first weekend collections.
The fact that the movie seems certain for long steady run, should make it Salman Khan’s biggest HIT this decade.
With a blockbuster in Wanted, a super-hit television show Dus Ka Dum and a good line-up of upcoming releases (Veer, Main Aur Mrs Khanna).. Salman Khan’s career is suddenly looking better than ever!

secondly, i thought whether a film is a blockbuster or not depends on its total all india net earnings ? and not just the distributer share ? if the latter is the case then a small budget film made on say a budget of rs 10 lakhs, could become a bigger hit by doing a mere business of 5 crores, than a big budget film which has done business of 55 crores. is this correct ?

Well I decided to watch Wanted on a dvd copy before paying any effort to go on my wheel chair to see it in cinema, and that’s because I’m not so sure that this movie would please me.. so I saw it last night ( not on an original dvd but a copy which was not so bad) and believe me.. I couldn’t stop laughing while watching it, from it’s starting till the end.. and what made me laugh was the action scenes.. hahahahahahha.. cartoon.. yeah.. cartoon movie but interesting.. I’ve enjoyed it.. it’s not a boring movie at all.. what I liked in this movie is the following:
Salman’s acting as well as his looks, serious role and didn’t try to be funny.. that suits him better, as well as the shooting for some songs.. I liked the 1st song and I loved those sceneries in one of the song.. where Salman with Aisha Takia singing and u can see all white houses.. very nice, as well as the shooting for another song, similar to Iranian songs, girls wearing green colour.. so I’d love to watch Wanted in cinema to see the shooting of these 2 songs, and to be honest in my review.. I can’t post any review unless I didn’t watch it on original dvd or at cinema.. when I do.. then I’ll come back with my review.

Heybib: don’t feel bad!! why u feel bad when we said it’s like a cartoon movie?! In fact.. it is.. cc2cc was like a cartoon but horrible movie..a movie which you’ll turn off after 10 minutes and u can’t tolerate watching that crap, but this one is different.. the action scenes are sooooo funny, there4 I continued watching and I enjoyed it.. this movie made me laugh and laugh and laugh!!
Let me just mention one of the scenes which is like annimation movies, specially Tom & Jerry.. the scene where that villain cop punch the servant’s eye and.. immediately, in the same time his eyes turns into a black!! black like a shoe polish.. hahahahaha.. and then he does for the other one.. doesn’t this happen only in annimation movies!!

the film has NOT broken the records of dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge. it is miles away from doing so. in fact it wont even be as big as singh is kinng, let alone DDLJ. so please stop making false statements.
SPIDERMAN:Y r u jealous hah…Look at boxoffice report…It will reach 40 crs distributor share in 3rd weekend which make it in the catogaries like Kabhi kushi kabhi gham,Dhoom 2 and other…..It have already share of 28 crs in 2nd weekend….

Let me tell you something. SRK acted in big banners driven by great promos and got hit films.
Look at salman, with small banners, he delivered hits for masses as well as for class audiences.

Bad news for Salman’s fans.. the movie flopped overseas.. it did only 7crores in all overseas countries!! US, Uk, Midddle East, all over the world only 7 crores!! I read it just now on boxofficeindia, even Dil Bole Hadippa did a better business.

Wanted didn’t do well as I said already and it flopped overseas.. it did only 7 crores!! if u ppl would think that the a good movie or a bad movie are measured by the success of the box office so u r all wrong dear commentators.. because in every country it’s just “different”, while the movie Wanted is a super hit in India so it’s below average overseas.. most of u ppl ask this question: if the movie was bad.. then how it was rated as a blockbuster or a super hit.. if ppl didn’t like it.. so how it was successful? that’s the question which u guys always ask.. and I’d ask you this question: if the movie Wanted was so good and there was a craze and a hype at the box office in India.. then why it didn’t creat the same in our country and in other parts overseas?!!!! why ppl in America, UK & Middle East didn’t like it?!!!!
We can’t say that ok.. 50% of the ppl in this world loved it ( so it’s a good movie) and 50% of the ppl didn’t like it ( so it’s a bad movie) we can’t say that.. we could never say that a movie was good or bad according to the box office.. yeah.. we could believe in what the critics would say and the way they value any movie.. we could believe in our eyes and in our evaluation..
I enjoyed watching Wanted although I watched it on a copy which wasn’t that clear.. enjoyed it because it made me laugh and laugh so I had a good time, as I already mentioned, and Salman’s acting was good.. but I can’t consider it as a good movie because the actions scenes were just like some cartoon movies!! that’s a fact and that’s what lots of ppl noticed.
And RBNDJ wasn’t like a cartoon.. what?!! was there any action, fighting scenes in the movie or u just want to say bad stuff about a good movie!!!!!! and FYI.. RBNDJ worked for 3 months in our cinemas and Wanted worked only for 2 weeks.
WANTED is released in Pakistan cinemas and multiplexes and drawing huge crowds . Many reviews came on the web most of them are encouraging . In a nut shell the film is a hit here.
Salman has performed exceptionally well in this film. The music is not up to mark except one trek but the song sequences are are top notch.
A violent film, rests on Salman Khan. Sound and cinematography are first rate. Salman Khan palsy a viscous relentless hard-boiled gangster the reality of his actual presence would stun the underworld vices and dons as portrayed in the film….simply breathtaking
A plot is predictable by the viewers but at the same time would keep them spell bound throughout the film. It is clear that film makers have executed the film plot with accutate timing and perfection. Ayesha Takia is very elegant and plays a straight forward role along side Salman.
The film should be rated as A or R as it contains substantial violence, profanity and gore.
Visual and sound effects are excellent and at par with Hollywood standards.
The Film would be a block buster and might topple the records set by GHAJNI —- The whole team of WANTED deserves a praise.
