About a year ago, Excel Entertainment had announced ‘Eid 2015’ as the release date of Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Raees’, a date that was already booked by Kabir Khan for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.
The director wasn’t pleased, but said that he would stick to his release date. Kabir had said ”Our film (Bajrangi Bhaijaan) was announced long back and if Shah Rukh Khan’s film is also releasing on Eid 2015, it makes no difference. Our project will definitely release on Eid 2015. Anybody else who wants to release their film on that day, is welcome.”
The clash was averted, as Shah Rukh Khan first completed ‘Fan’ before moving on to shoot ‘Raees’.
A year later, history has repeated itself. However, this time around, it was Excel Entertainment and SRK who first blocked ‘Eid 2016’ as the release date for ‘Raees’.
Two months after their announcement, Yash Raj Films has released a ‘date announcement video’ confirmed that Salman Khan will once again have a Eid release during 2016.
Which actor or banner will back out? Who will eventually get the lucrative Eid 2016 weekend? Remember, the only year that Salman didn’t have a film ready for Eid, it was Shahrukh who released his film and delivered the biggest grosser of all time (Chennai Express in 2013).
Which film would you want to watch during Eid next year – Ali Abbas Zafar’s Sultan, where Salman will be seen playing a wrestler or Rahul Dholakia’s Raees, a film where Shahrukh Khan plays a Gujrati don.

For Yrf to release a teaser so early males no sense. People has made their mind for Raees on Eid.

salman & aamir have followed the trend later and have made Eid & Christmas respectively their own .
Now it has become a sort of a regular custom for many fans that :
“Eid is incomplete without sheer kurma, haleem & salman khan movie” and
“Christmas is incomplete without a plum cake, Santa Claus & an aamir khan movie “.
First of all clash would never happen between salman & srk or else it would be like an hungry tiger vs a starving goat story.
Of course Sultan. Who cares about Raees. Srk in an offbeat film= 72 crore lifetime (MNIK).
Raees will be another 70 crore movie like MNIK. Sultan has potential to be the biggest blockbuster of 2016.

Exhibitors & distributors will definitely any day prefer a salman’s movie over srk’s , srk’s movie will hardly get any single screens and in the multiplexes it will be 60:40 in the favour of salman , so any which way it’s salman who will reign supreme!!!
If Raees clashes with Sultan, result will be
Sultan= 250 crore
Raees= 65 crore
But Srk has no guts to clash with Salman.

it would be really really amazing to see both the movies releasing the same day. but it would be a loss for Bollywood. so personally, I feel there should be no clash between these titans. After all there are only 4-5 movies in the entire year that makes Bollywood stand erect.

Non of them. If they really believe in their power than they have to release their movie on a regular day. Then we will see their real power.
Actually they are super star of holidays and big banners only.
Now this is where I throw my hats off to Akshay Kumar Sir and Ajay Devgn. Not into fighting for best release day festive or non festive no matter d outcome they r just so brave and always so confident without any element of insecurity with which actor is releasing on that date or not!
Agreed not in d league of d trio Khans but still super confident stars. Long live our Hindu Superstars!!(special mention to Hritik Roshan too). He does not much movies so festive or not he too is anoda Superstar without any insecurity syndrome.
And how can I forget d upcoming superstars Rhanbir and Varun. Ranbir for having 2 100crores non holiday movies while Varun d potential dynamite having successful 100% records without depending on any type of holiday!

There’s no second thoughts about it.Raees looks far more exciting than Sultan with its unusual casting and intriguing plot.Also it’s been directed by the national award winner Rahul Dholakia.On the other hand Sultan would be another Masala movie in disguise of a class movie.What else can we expect from the director of Gunday and Bhai both of them known for their mindless movies.But considering the fact that Srk has a great relationship with Yrf most probably the clash would be averted.I personally feel Srk in a act of charity would not release Raees on the same day since they haven’t officially booked the date.But well if Srk decides to release the movie on the same date history would repeat itself with our dear Bhai once again getting thrashed by Srk.
How could Bhai fans even expect Sallu to overshadow Srk when Ranbir alone thrashed him with his second movie BAH.
