As is pretty evident from the above numbers, Shahrukh Khan has dominated the overseas markets like no other actor in the history of the Indian film industry. Even his most ridiculed film, Ra One, has collected close to 11 million overseas.
But Aamir Khan’s last release Dhoom 3 and his most loved film 3 Idiots, have topped the charts. In fact, Dhoom 3 is way above the rest.
So the battle for the highest overseas grosser of 2014 is most likely going to be between Aamir’s P.K and SRK’s Happy New Year. The one factor that will hugely favour P.K is the fact that Rajkumar Hirani, the director of 3 Idiots, is directing P.K too.

No one knows the content of either film, who would have thought a Rohit Shetty film with a hit wala would have beaten all movies from a blockbuster wala (sometimes flop wala or semi hit wala).
Dont be surprised if Anurag Kasyap and Sajid Khan clash at box office and anurag film is critically thrashed and sajid film is critically acclaimed. By the way John will become popular in overseas because of clash and familiarity of his name with hollywood audience.

Highest grossing Hindi film in the US is Monsoon Wedding by Mira Nair starring Naseeruddin Shan and Lillete Dubey this made $13.87m in 2001. Mira Nair’s Salaam Bombay (1988) earned over $2m in that country. Lol at the global king vs perfectionist rubbish.
Depends on content of films. But even if PK grosses higher overseas still it would be just 3 Aamir movies that did any notable business abroad. Whereas SRK has dozens of films throughout 22 years of his career that have broken records overseas. Aamir was nowhere in overseas market before 3 Idiots. 3 films can’t salvage his pathetic record throughout his career.

Indicine, Sorry to say! I don’t think you are well-informed! KICK is not an out and out action film. It is more of a comedy than action film is. It is Comedy-Romance-Action film. The action in the film will sleek like the action in ETT.
By the way, ETT was an action film, wasn’t it? If not, was it Babaji Ka Thullu? The difference was its action was different from that in Bodyguard or Dabangg 2.
KICK will be in top three in overseas. No need to talk about domestic one. It will rule supreme at the BO.

Christmas period is always good for overseas As seen in the case of dabangg 2 … Sallu movies are always flop in overseas but d2 was hit so we can understand how dhoom 3 having 300 more screens than ce, high ticket price collected 9 million more than ce not a big deal HNY will be the highest grosser of all time both domestically n overseas… Pk will flop as it is about aliens n show Hinduism in a poor light

3 idiots & dhoom3 got benefits of Xmas and year holiday all over the world especially USA UK Australia newzeland.
So my bet is on pk since it is releasing on December end coupled with long holidays in Overseas and raju hirani as a director who banking on huge successful and most loved movie on recent year infact his all 3 movies were well received by audiences. Other hand HNY will be totally depend on srks stardom. If it even come close to pk then srk is the biggest superstar no question about it.
Happy New Year will, at the most, do better than Ra1.

First of all CE never had the Eid date, it got the date from OUATIMD, and since you are dependent on ifs, what if OUATIMD had not budged to srk’s appeal, it woudl have seriously dented its collection in the first three days that were holidays.
What happened is happened, let us now talk about the upcoming releases.
Salman gave 5 back to back blockbusters, and only Amitabh had done that before. Let srk give blockbuster atleast next 2 times, and then we can compare him to the bigger stars like Salman and Amitabh.
Dhoom 3 had the biggest ever bollywood franchise which helped it a lot. Remember dhoom 2 broke all domestic records and was a huge blockbuster overseas (especially the USA) as well.
PK will have to rely on its word of mouth and it will be hard to replicate 3 idiots word of mouth and remember 3 idiots was beaten by MNIK in its first phase.
HNY, going by SRK’s track-record overseas and the fact that it has more international appeal than CE, should be bigger than PK.
Indicine u forgot to mention dat since lagaan Aamir khan hasn’t given single flop in overseas.. Even Talaash opening was record breaking in overseas. In USA Aamir Is baap nd u can’t deny dis fact. Talaash lifetime in India 95 cr and in overseas 55 cr . Talaash was superhit in overseas. #fact.
All Time Blockbuster in 2014 is none other than P.K.. Aamir is inventor and in 2014 he will sure invent 300 Cr. Club.
