PK is still going strong at the box office, even though a film like Tevar released in theatres last weekend. The Aamir Khan – Anushka Sharma starrer has completed 25 successful days at the box office and should finish its glorious run with total collections of Rs 340-342 crore net.
Having set records for the highest first week (Hindi version), second week and third week, the fourth week collections will be the second best ever after 3 Idiots.
The distributors share of PK will be around the 163 crore mark, which is by the far the highest for any film in the history of Indian Cinema. In fact, the distributors share of PK is higher than the lifetime collections of all but 9 films (i.e only 3 Idiots, Ek Tha Tiger, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Krrish 3, Chennai Express, Dhoom 3, Kick, Bang Bang and Happy New Year have collected more than Rs 163 crore!)

As it deserves! A great movie with superb cast. The characters are so believable especially Aamir Khan and Anushka….Would like to hear that Hirani will make for number 2.
Pk has not done any wonders at the box offuce.
Ticket prices were 20% hiked from the previous xmas release dhoom 3.
So if you reduce these figures by 20%,it will come even less than dhoom 3 collections.
Overseas collections and trending have proved it that pk is not a great film as some here are thinking,no story,concept copied from omg.
Keep in mind that PK hasn’t even opened in some foreign markets yet, like Turkey and China. That markets alone could help push PK world wide total higher if it’s well received.

Indian film makers are wasting screen space, they should be more strategic with releases, what is the point of opening big when you cant sustain your screen size and revenue.

@babaji dhoom 3 first phase collection was 28 million $ while pk also end around 27 million $.Its very satisfying as Dhoom 3 had international canvas with exotic location which also appealed along with franchise value but pk still managed to collect more than 10 million $ previous bigger hit hny,bang bang and kick all have excellent big budget production values compare to pk.
And once pk opened in China,Japan and other market than d3 31.75 million mark also crossed.

The fact of the matter is, Rohit Shetty with his blitzkrieg marketing and star cast has the potential to break opening weekend records but the content in his films is as good as a cartoon network show. All his films crash after Monday.
It is only and only Hirani who seamlessly manages to grill entertainment and star cast with content. Shetty doesnt even bother scripting his films. He can never match Hirani by any means. Chennai Express clicked mainly because Srk went into full fledge masala for the first time. It wont click each time round/
Yes, he can still break opening records but not Lifetime collections!
