The unstoppable juggernaut called PK continues to roll, as the film sustained well enough to collect Rs 9 crore (estimates) on its 12th day at the box office. The biggest superstar in the country, Aamir Khan, now has yet another 250 crore grosser to his yet.
The story is similar overseas too. PK has crossed the 100 crore mark and could eventually topple Dhoom 3 as the highest grosser of all time.

The question that almost everyone in the industry seems to be asking is – what works for Aamir Khan, he doesn’t have the craziest fan-base like a Salman, SRK or Rajnikanth, he isn’t very controversial and prefers to maintain a low profile. But when his films release, he is arguably the biggest crowd-puller in the industry today, both inside and outside the country.
There was a dialogue in Rajkumar Hirani’s last film ‘3 Idiots’, the english translation of which means “Don’t chase success, chase excellence, success will follow”. Aamir seems to be doing just that, the audience trusts him to deliver a good film every single time. Reviews and everything else becomes secondary. The belief is, if a film stars Aamir Khan, it has to be good. The word-of-mouth, more often than not, takes care of the rest.

The biggest reason why I feel PK is doing such amazing business is because I have come across many people (friends, relatives, public) who were sad that the movie got over too soon….it could have continued for another 30-45 minutes…they were specially enjoying Aamir’s superlative acting and the movie…. in that order

So you think TAALASH,GAJHNI,D3 were good movie and it worked only because of AAMIR….IN FACT PK too started slowly and bounced back strongly with WOM…So here WOM comes secondary…A film works as a package….a big star presence makes it more exciting and every star has a fan base and neutral people likes them….You can’t judge a person just in Internet or SOCIAL MEIDA….PK,CE,D3 etc all run as package….Not only on star power….Don’t always get carried away :3…Otherwise DHOBI GHAT and TAALASH would have been 200crs+ by now.

That 60 cr club actor struggles to cross 100 cr while Aamir is founder of 100 cr, 200 cr and 300 cr clubs. His fan following is more than shahrukh and Salman both. Stop the nonsense. Aamir has the biggest fan following around the world than any other actor. Dhoom 3 was ATBB despite average story and mixed reviews. That speaks a lot about his stardom and fan following.

@sky – Just one point….According to BOI if a film releases on Diwali then it might be difficult to earn even 20 crs on that day….so HNY released one day later even though there were holidays in MOST/SOME parts of INDIA not on ALL parts.
