I’m deeply saddened and concerned about the protests by some groups against our film PK. On behalf of the entire team of PK, I would like to clarify that we respect all religions and faiths.

Our film is inspired by the ideas of Sant Kabir and Mahatma Gandhi. It is a film, which brings to fore the thought that all humans who inhabit this planet are the same. There are no differences.

Our intention is not to hurt anyone, or to discriminate against any religion. I would once again like to assure them that I have the highest regard towards all religions, and that we respect all religions and faiths.

I have the highest respect for the concept of ‘Advait’- the oneness of all humans – that is central to Indian culture, thought, and religion. It saddens me to think that a film that upholds this great Hindu principal is accused of being disrespectful of Hinduism. I would like to thank the millions of deeply religious people who have loved the film and feel that it upholds the spirit of true religiosity and condemns only the abuse of it.

I believe in the great Hindu idea—’Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – the whole world is a family. Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and indeed all religions, teach us brotherhood and love. The intent of the film is to uphold this great thought.

  • these few so called dharam ke rakhshak like bajrangi dal , rss , vhp are biggest threat to India.. I feel bad for Raju..he is such a nice person. PK is great film and audience have loved it

  • @raju don’t care about wat afew fools thin about ur movie.the aam janta has givena two thumvs up to d movie so just njoy the moment and quickly make ur next blockbuster starring my ranbir as sanjay dutt

  • We support Rajkumar Hirani .and RSS, VHP, Dhongi babas get a life.
U dumb people don’t NOT represent the majority.
Its because of you idiots that the country is lagging.
    Refresh your thinking.
    #RajuHirani we support u.

  • @raju hirani, the whole india knows khese facts except few dharm ke rakshak like mohan bhagawat, ashok singhal, probin togaria….

  • Correct statements and people who have problem with PK should search their respective gods and complaint them personally

  • I haven’t seen a single person disliking the movie so far. It shows people are loving the films. Also in FB,my friends are going gaga over it.

PK mocks the superstitions, blind beliefs, unnecessary division and differentian between people etc. I don’t think it has insulted Hinduism. The questions are even logical. If we are the sons and daughters of GOD, why will our God want us to hurt ourselves to see him? But I do agree with one fact that they showed more about Hindus compared to other religions. They could have shown some more about muslims and christians too. But, i feel they did it because Hindu is the most popular religion in India. But they have shown about other religions too. There were scenes about under-priviledged muslim girls ,christian father trying to convert Hindus into christians and so on.
So PK is only against Hinduism? No. It’s against “SUPERSTITIONS” that happen with all religions.

My final take: “If you think PK is a good movie and deserves your time and money, then Go for it. And if you have problems with PK, don’t watch it. But you are noone to force others to stay away from it.”

  • Pk is an awesome film, these extremists like bajrang dal are able to dominate because good people decide to remain silent.

  • one month ago I said pk storm is coming but srkian was laughed but now I am laughing because Pk is the highest grosser of 2014 and it will be a #AllTimeBlockbuster

  • Only jobless people will protest against PK. Yeh log Bhagwaan, Allah or God ki rakhshaa karenge. Woh khud apni rakhshaa karna jaanta hai !!!!!!!!!

  • Censor Board refuses to remove scenes from PK, but remove scenes hurting Muslims and Christians

Once again biased anti-Hindu stance of Censor Board and its chairperson Leela Samson have been exposed when it refused to cut scenes from anti-Hindu and anti-national movie PK. But it should be noted that this same Censor Board forced others to cut scenes from their movies, which were ‘hurting’ religious sentiments of Christians and Muslims. Here are the proofs :

Censor Board not to remove any scenes from ‘PK’: Chairperson Leela Samson

Amid demands by Hindu outfits to ban alleged objectionable scenes from Aamir Khan ‘PK’, the Censor Board has refused to take any such action.

Leela Samson, chairperson of Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), said the board will not remove any scenes from the film as it has already been released.

“Every film may hurt religious sentiments of somebody or the other. We can’t remove scenes unnecessarily because there is something called creative endeavour where people present things in their own way. We have already given certificate to ‘PK’ and we can’t remove anything now because it’s already out for public viewing,” she told PTI.

Censor Board slams jokes on Johnny Lever’s name ‘Abdullah’ in ‘Entertainment’

Mumbai: The censor board has objected to the way Johnny Lever’s character’s name has been mispronounced in the forthcoming film ‘Entertainment’ and asked its makers to change it.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which viewed the film late last week, has asked that Lever’s character’s name be changed.

Said a source: “Lever’s character is named Abdullah, which is a very sacred name. Throughout the film other characters keep mispronouncing Abdullah’s name, calling him all sorts of things like ‘arashogollah’ and ‘amashallah’.

  • These protests won’t dent the collections for sure.. Raju Hirani is really a wonderful person and can’t imagine him to resort to cheap tactics.. Please continue giving us gem after gem sir.. Wish you good luck for Sanjay Duty biopic.. #WeSupportPK

  • I don’t know why they make so much fuzz about 1 movie. Are these guys so hurt that they have acquired the right to overpower Supreme Court and dictate their own views by bashing cinema halls.

I doubt whether Hirani shall ever make a strong movie after this. I think he’ll prefer the popular sentiment type movies like 3 idiots. The intolerance and arrogance against art is terrifying.

No wonder directors prefer half-baked masalas like Dhoom 3 or Happy New Year. We are too intolerant to accept a different viewpoint.

  • OMG had many scenes which was against for hindu but that time govt was of congress so that time every one enjoyed the movie but this time pk has less anti hindu scenes in comparison with omg but this time dogs are barking bcz of BJP govt these all bajrang dal Rss and Vhp all are chamchas of BJP they are proving that how communal they are…

  • these type of people bring india down these are shameless creature these rss ,bajrang dal are just idiots n nothing more.

  • mr. raju there is dwait way also in hindu dharm which says god is different from us and he is somwhere else from world. i also prefer adwaitwaad but if you want better comunication then dwaitwaad is more easier and if you beleive in adwait please leave ur banglow and car and live like saint kabeer and m.k. gandhi. do u have dare message for both raju and aamir who thinks that only they have quality mind. hr and srk also comes in this catagary.

  • Dear raju hiraniji,

Our question is not that you replied.our question is why you make fun of LORD SHIVA?????,give the answer you have also I expect the answer from their chamchas.

  • I watch good cinema that does not hurt anyones feelings. I do not live in India. PK hurt my feelings. I do not belong to any religious group but totally follow scripture like the Ramayana and Bhagavad Gita. Hirani has hurt these books. The law of Karma will prevail.

  • well pk is a great film and also has similarities with OMG that was released in 2012, the point is it only challenges hindu religious belief and we all know about the Shiv scene in the film, if the same thing was done to either islam or christian belief then mark my words the film would have been banned, did you forget the prophet controversy in which cartoons were published in newspapers and there was an uproar in entire world. My question why is hindu religious beliefs and practices always challenged and not the other religions. Freedom of expression is true, however, it should be within limits and not hurt the sentiments

  • the controversy is created by aamir khan and hirani themselves, it is just a publicity stunt so that more eyeballs are attracted and the film rakes in more crores, shame on this dirty publicity

  • @sem, you cannot change the system with a one go.

the minorites that you are talking about are too protective and their vote bank counts.

the censor board being in control of govt they will use it as per their whims and fancies, regardless of which party is in power.

the censor board needs to be made autonomous so that there is no restriction on it by people and groups who have their own personal agendas.

art should be free of relgions and other restrictions.

  • @pranav, 80% india is of hindus, so until the majority change, don’t expect the minoroties.

until unless the elders change in a family, don;t expect the kids to change.

let the change come from the top.
