The unstoppable juggernaut called PK continues to roll, as the film sustained well enough to collect Rs 9 crore (estimates) on its 12th day at the box office. The biggest superstar in the country, Aamir Khan, now has yet another 250 crore grosser to his yet.
The story is similar overseas too. PK has crossed the 100 crore mark and could eventually topple Dhoom 3 as the highest grosser of all time.

The question that almost everyone in the industry seems to be asking is – what works for Aamir Khan, he doesn’t have the craziest fan-base like a Salman, SRK or Rajnikanth, he isn’t very controversial and prefers to maintain a low profile. But when his films release, he is arguably the biggest crowd-puller in the industry today, both inside and outside the country.
There was a dialogue in Rajkumar Hirani’s last film ‘3 Idiots’, the english translation of which means “Don’t chase success, chase excellence, success will follow”. Aamir seems to be doing just that, the audience trusts him to deliver a good film every single time. Reviews and everything else becomes secondary. The belief is, if a film stars Aamir Khan, it has to be good. The word-of-mouth, more often than not, takes care of the rest.

And my First favorite Star Srk Before Salman and Aamir , After Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008 Srk give only 2 movie which I like very much and that is Done 2 and Chennai Express… Now days Srk prepare quantity over quality and that the reason his movie not do excellence job at the box office.Srk fan’s prefer quality not quantity. I hope his next two movie Fan and Raees will work a big time at box office and peoples heart too.
that’s called collection.. the drop everyday is so minor now.. today and tomorrow will again jump due to new year, after that 300cr will be achieved by the end of 3rd weekend.. so another milestone by Aamir khan.. now only salman and Aamir himself can challenge these records, for others it is next to impossible.

Aamir khan is huge superstar coz not only kids and youth but even old people watches his movies in theaters.I have seen many oldies more than 50 years old watching PK;Talaash;3 idiots and not seen them during our kings movies chennai express; happy new year also not seen these old people watching kick or dabang series.
Giving back to back more than 250 crores movies is not a joke.It was bad year with only 1 BB kick in 11 months then aamir came with PK and made the year good for film industry

@ indicine, please do not forget the fact that aamir only does at the max one film per year and that also releases on christmas holidays and has three open weeks, that is why dhoom3 and pk are blockbusters, and about word of mouth, dhoom 3 had mixed word of mouth, talaash was also aamir film then why was it not so successful. His films are always backed by good script, directors and production houses. On the otherhand salman khan, SRK, Rajnikanth are crowd pullers, even if the film is panned by critics their films become blockbuster, so true superstar is the one who can bring audience in cinemas without the script, director or production house and salman and rajnikanth are far ahead of aamir in that respect

Though I’m a die hard srk fan, I must accept tat aamir is in league of his own now.. His choice of scripts , acting is tremendous. Srk n salman must do strong content based films from now. Masala flicks r losing their steam. No offence to srk n salman fans, I personally feel d quality of their movies has reduced. Quality means – movies like veer zaara, maine pyaar kiya, ddlj, hahk, k3g,khnh n many more epics .. Dey must stop playing larger than life type roles .. Btw Congrats for aamir for extraordinary success of pk..

Well the difference between Aamir fans and others is that Aamir fans have a strong interest in his films that’s the reason they make it a point to watch his movies in theatres unlike other stars’ fans who just have admiration for them and are more than happy to watch their favourite stars’ movies online rather than spending/wasting their hard earned money by watching it in the theatres because they know there is a high chance of them getting disappointed with the final product.
Another interesting point is that I have seen many non-Aamir fans eagerly awaiting his movies….that’s the goodwill he enjoys even among non-fans.
On indicine too we have had many sarook fans watching PK….the way they gave reviews and spoilers right from the first day….many of them are closet Aamir fans but don’t accept it….their faith in sarook has been shattered but still they want to cling on to him hoping for some miracle from a 50 year old fading star
Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan are the true superstars of Bollywood who deserve success like this….Looks like PK will finish some where between 330 -350 crores…
