Comparisons between Rajkumar Hirani’s PK and Umesh Shukla’s OMG! Oh My God is inevitable. Both films are based on the theme of god and both discuss the issue of fake godmen and those who create fear in the society in the name of god.
Due to Aamir Khan’s presence, the reach of PK is tremendous. The footfalls (number of ticket sold) of PK in 4 days was more than the entire run of OMG! Oh My God.

I would rate PK above OMG due to 2 reason.
1.The first half of pk was thought provoking and hilarious when many scenes are near perfect.
2.PK start with a concept of believe in one god not which showing by godmen etc.
Both pk and OMG had positives and negatives, while both has fantastic performance by actors,great direction and hitting dialogues,other thing both film are not excelling through out its run time. PK has excellent first half while OMG had excellent 2nd half but its climax was bit long and they want to avoid controversies about existence of god but as it was adaption of Gujarati play which was immrnsly successful and the performer there was also Paresh Rawal.
Over all both pk and omg deserves 3.5/5 but PK able to maintain its soul of the story.
@gauravv the repeat viewing is definitely prove the pk film better,problem is that we guys who use net for reviews has gone through many review that its similar to omg so when we went to watch that film this comparison was already in our mind.
But my office where my 8-10 colleagues who seen the film, I was the only one who didn’t found it great and superb as they feel.Reason they all had seen omg but this comparison wasn’t striking their head while watching the film,from last 3 days there is only talks about pk during our lunch time, my 2 friends who hardly seeing movies in theatre will go to watch pk on tmrw.PK was immensely loved by people and they even don’t bother about IRS similarity with omg.
Undoubtly most loved film of the year.
I haven’t seen OMG! So my vote goes to PK.
I am die hard Akshay fan.. But I have no shame in accepting that PK is far more better film than omg.
Direction of PK better , Acting better , music better , BGM better , cinematography better.. and whole concept better..

@Indian, unfortunately that won’t help. because even if you don’t watch any aamir and raju’s movies in future, that wont stop other billions of people to stop wathing. they will watch all their movies and aamir will keep ruling BO and keep beating srk even if you skip his movies.

None , but Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than PK and Oh My God (OMG!) . Mr Aman and Mr Akash you two guys are praising Aamir’s acting , then let me remind you Kamal Haasan is better than Aamir Khan in terms of acting talent and is also an extremely talented artist than Aamir Khan as Kamal Haasan acts , sings , directs , writes , and choreographs in his movies but does Aamir sing ? does Aamir writes ? does Aamir choreographs ? noooooooooo way he don’t . If Aamir Khan is a successful student , then his teacher is Kamal Haasan and Akshay Kumar is then a flop student in that field which is known as acting . Vishwaroopam was an underrated movie of 2013 , due to it’s controversies .
If I have to rank from Kamal Haasan , Amitabh Bachchan , Shahrukh Khan , Aamir Khan , Salman Khan , Rajinikanth , Ranbir Kapoor , Hrithik Roshan , Dhanush , Vikram Kennedy , Akshay Kumar in terms of acting talent my ranking would be :
1) Kamal Haasan – best acting performance : Nayagan (1987) .
2) Amitabh Bachchan – best acting performance : Deewar (1975) .
3) Aamir Khan – best acting performance : Lagaan (2001) .
4) Vikram Kennedy – best acting performance : Pithamagan (2003) .
5) Shahrukh Khan – best acting performance : Chak De India (2007) .
6) Dhanush – best acting performance : Aadukalam (2011) .
7) Ranbir Kapoor – best acting performance : Barfi (2012) .
8) Hrithik Roshan – best acting performance : Jodha Akbar (2008) .
9) Rajinikanth – best acting performance : ?????
10) Salman Khan – best acting performance : Tere Naam (2003) .
11) Akshay Kumar – best acting performance : Special 26 (2013) .
I know that I have rated Hrithik and Ranbir , above Salman , Rajini , and Akshay in terms of acting talent but it is the fact as Hrithik has done more versatile roles and proved his acting calliber in films like : Koi Mil Gaya (2003) , Lakshya (2004) , Jodha Akbar (2008) , Guzaarish (2010) etc………. whereas Ranbir Kapoor has done more powerful roles that proved his acting talent in films like : Rocket Singh (2009) , Rockstar (2011) , Barfi (2012) , and Raajneet (2010) , but despite of being mass heroes Salman , Rajinikanth , and Akshay Kumar have gained a gigantic fan following for their one liner dialogues , fighting styles , style , but what these 3 heroes have in common is lack of acting talent despite of being superstars in their industries . It’s very sad that heroes like Ranbir and Hrithik who have only less fan following than these 3 superstars have clearly outshined these 3 superstars with their acting calliber , versatility in roles , and great movie scripts . I might get threats from Salman and Rajini die hard fans as they believe that these two are their idols but it is the fact for god sake people . Salman and Rajini are not that bad actors , as they can get a strong script , a talented director , and good roles but their fans want them to play larger than life characters which lacks their acting talent but excels in getting fans to the theatres to get the largest possible ever BO revenue .

OMG is definitely superior than PK. A real gripping screenplay throughout makes OMG the winner while PK loses momentum in the 2nd half and never really gets it back.
Why to compare omg and pk . Both are excellent films with diff storyline . Only some portion is similar but plot is different . Raju Hirani is very good director.

Parwesh Rawal has really no match.. He delivered the message single handedly. He was the actor, actress and everything in the movie and even if I play it today I can see it without forwarding it at any place.. no boredom at any point.. and ofcourse can see the full movie with family;-)
@zain kazmi,believe me I respect kamal hasanji a lot but also believe me leaving him southindustry is just a biggest crap and so as it’s other actor including like rajni/vikram.what you ranked KING SRK at no.5 then I can rank kamal hasan at rank 10 after Ranbir kapoor’s rock star.KING SRK’S CDI is EPIC movie with out a bit overrated scene unlike your south Indian irritated one man army show craps and other overrated like lagaan,even SWADES is far better than lagaan.VZ/SWADES/MNIK/KHNH/CDI/DEVDAS are some few movies which proves HE IS THE NUMERO UNO ACTOR OF INDIA and no actor even come closer compared to even with HIS FOOT.BTW yes viswaroopam is a very good movie and far way better than d3/pk.

Go watch some movies like Nayakan, Chachi 420, Saagar, Anbe Sivam, Appu Raja, Pushpak, Indian and lot other movies.. these movies are sufficient to describe the greatness of Kamal Sir.. our King can’t even achieve even a quarter of what Kamal Sir has achieved..our King can’t come closer to his toe nails also..
Even our King who worked with Kamal Sir with Hey Ram also is grateful to work with Kamal sir whom he considers to be his mentor..please go check any of our King’s interview for proof..
so please Don’t insult our King by considering him greater than an acting institution and legend like Kamal Sir..

@sss Your comment is dumb. SRK overacts in many films even MNIK and Devdas. He is good in romantic roles but he lacks range of acting. Kamal Hassan shows more expressions in 1 single film than Srk shows in his whole career. Kamalji has excelled in acting, singing, directing, writing; Aamir has excelled in acting and directing; while SRK is struggling to excel even in acting. SRK is overrated and will be forgotten soon.
