Salman Khan’s Kick has done outstandingly well on Day 1 at the domestic box office, with net box office collections of Rs 26.19 crore.
The film hasn’t done well in parts of the Mumbai circuit, but Rajasthan and East Punjab were record-breaking considering non-holiday and Ramadan period release. Both Mysore and West Bengal were way better than Salman’s last release Jai Ho, but much lower than Dhoom 3 and Chennai Express.
The early expectations on Friday were for the first business to exceed 30 crore, but the film slowed down in a few circuits evening onwards.
Still, the Day 1 collections of KICK is comparable to films like Chennai Express and Dhoom 3, simply because of the fact that it has managed to put up collections of 26 cr+ on a non-holiday during Ramadan.
Also, a big superstar film, that opens on a holiday, tends to collect about 50-55% more than a non-holiday release. For example, Ek Tha Tiger released on a holiday and collected Rs 32.92 cr, whereas Dabangg 2 released on a working day only to collect Rs 21 cr.
In comparison, Jai Ho also released on a working day and collected Rs 17.38 crore on its first day. Kick has collected 51% more than Jai Ho, which is terrific.

Kick has everything from action,romance,thrill,comedy,good songs etc.Some dialogues was superb while some were very funny like i still remember ‘Jab baccho ke muh mein doodh ki bottle hoti hai iski taango ke beech mein towel tha’ and ‘Uncle Lal ko yakeen ho gaya that ki unke ghar mein beta nahi baap paida hua hai’.lol
That’s just 1 Cr less from what I had predicted on prediction contest.
Kick has to trend well as Krrish 3 did which had similar type of situation, but did record business on its 4th day, so there’s a hope that Kick can collect around 35 Cr on Eid which is still 3 days away to break Dhoom 3’s record.
I saw it last night, it was a typical Salman Khan entertainer, his fans are loving it, it will be Salman’s entry in 200 Cr club for sure, now lets see how far it goes.

It should have breaked the record of Dhoom3 or even I understand it SHOULD HAVE done 30 to 33cr atleast, kick left me disapointed..
This movie is one week phenomenon only. It will do 150 Crores in first week and 30 crores in second week. Total 180 crores.

WOM is great. Kick is best reviewed masala film of recent time. Other masala movies like CE got 1 star ratings but Kick has got minimum 2.5 stars while even stricter critics like Raja Sen have given 3 stars.
Kick has 100% chance of beating CE and K3 and 95% chance of beating Dhoom 3.

Comparison is not good but, krrish3’s first day collections were good as it released on dhanters and before diwali,
usually movies don’t do good at pre- diwali weekend as so many people are busy in shopping and decorating houses across whole India, still then krrish3 done outstanding bizz in weekend,
kick again is below than expectations
