The holiday for Republic Day on Thursday was the biggest ever day for the Hindi Film Industry, as the combined collections of Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees is Rs 44.97 crore – which is exactly the same as the reported collections of SRK’s Happy New Year on the Diwali holiday in 2014.
Both Raees and Kaabil showed big growth at the box office, with the business of both films peaking on Republic Day. Raees collected Rs 26.30 crore, showing growth of 29% over Wednesday. The jump was good because, unlike Kaabil, Raees was recording very high occupancy on the first day.
Kaabil had started slow on Wednesday and there was ample scope for growth across all theatres in the country. Due to positive reports, the escalation in business was better than expected with the film collecting Rs 18.67 crore (79% growth) on Day 2.
The key will be the level at which both films hold on Friday. Both have shown drops compared to the occupancy level on Wednesday. Raees has shown bigger drops, which was again expected because of the excellent opening. Kaabil has managed to hold, with some centres recording better occupancy compared to shows on Wednesday morning.

Is box-office India underreporting the collection of Kaabil or their producers are posting fake collections? The same thing happened when filmkraft released Krrish 3 back in 2013. Then there was difference of around 40 cr in final collection posted by boxofficeindia.com and the producers of the film. I mean boxofficeindia is posting same figures for Rares. But there is difference of around 5cr in just 2 days for Kaabil. I think Indicine should clarify why is this happening.

Raees is not dilwale so people who are thinking it will go that way dn they are fool. On other note both movie having good wom but may be kabil having betr but the poor opening done the damage now in percentage wise gap will decrease but in numbers it will increase till sun but I think raees lifetime will be more dn kabil.

Lol… comparing salman’s worst of this decade with SRK’s best of the decade… SRK ki aukat dikhane k liye yahi kafi…. keep comparing with Jai Ho and Bodyguard (2011) coz remaining films (BB, Sultan, PRDP, Kick & ETT etc) are out of reach.

Your so called superstar is not even getting solo release on Republic Day forget getting Eid release. Keep believing pluto stats and if you have little sense you should know that HNY released 2 years ago in 2014 and now it is 2017. Current screen count for Raees (2500) + Kaabil (2200-2300) = 4800 how did HNY released on 5000 screens in 2014 (including regional versions) ? There was a rumour also that HNY released on 5000 screen in China too (for which Indicine also published an article) and how much it collected? 3 crs. ROFL !!!!!!!! We Salman fans will never vouch for fake records. Let SRK reach 150 crs without Deepika first.
NOTE : I watched Raees twice and liked it. Not a single negative comment against SRK or Raees since last one week but if his fans keep ranting about Bhai they will get it. Give Respect expect the same else be ready for humiliation !!!!!!!!!!

Srk do lots of cheap & cheat moves from start thats why Raees ahead in collections but I hope that Kaabil will beat Raees soon.
