Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil has turned things around on Day 2 at the box office, showing massive growth in business all across the country. The advantage of a national holiday is usually around the 35-40% mark, but Kaabil has almost doubled its business from Wednesday. Some places which started slow on Wednesday, have more than doubled.
As per early estimates, the Thursday collections of Kaabil will be in the 17-18 crore range (Hindi version). The collections from Telugu and Tamil versions have shown significant growth in business too and it could touch the 50 – 55 lakh mark.
What’s working in Kaabil’s favour are the reports that are coming in from all over. The family audience came out in big numbers on Thursday and exhibitors say, the older section of the audience is liking the film as much as the youth. For a film to enjoy a long and successful run, it’s the family audience – especially at multiplexes – that end up giving the film those long legs to perform in Week 2 and 3.
The hold on Friday will give us a clearer picture on where Kaabil is heading. If the film collects as much as it did on Wednesday, it’ll be a very good hold. If the collections come in the 12+ range (which is possible because the occupancy was low on Wednesday) then it would suggest that Kaabil is upto something special at the box office. Anything lower than 7.5 – 8 crore wouldn’t be good enough, with the starting point being low.
The trend over the next 3 days will decide the fate of the film.

- Wednesday – 10.43 crore
- Thursday (holiday) – 17-18 crore (approx)
- Total – 28 crore (approx)
Kaabil is almost 10 times as good as Raees when it comes to quality.
Kaabil is going the Bajirao Mastani way. Lower initials but better lifetime collections.. Kudos to indian audience for choosing the better film in a wiser way

HNY earned 45cr on just 3800 screens on day1. Hnc Raees+Kaabil would have surely done 50+cr business on Republic day on 4800 screens.

Fantastic growth! Now expecting it to get more shows from Friday onwards. Today’s collections could have been even better if it had more screens. Audience are loving it as much as critics.

HNY collected 45cr nett 2.5 years ago with 15% lower ticket price & 25% lesser screens compared to Raees &, Kaabil. Both Raees & Kaabil get houseful shows in most of the cinemas on Thursday as per your tweets & articles (surely on par with HNY opening day response if not better). Therefore, Raees+Kaabil must have collected over 60cr nett on Sunday. Isn’t it???

Kaabil is one of the best performance of Hrithik Roshan. He totally nailed it. I guess this time both Raees and Kaabil will do well and may managed to get Hit status.

I guess you totally forgot about it or wanted to glorify SRK fans who sadly could not even write reviews for their idol.
To all “srkians” fuming across with rage with kaabil having seemingly crossed only 7 something crore, I have to ask you to verify your facts first. BOI is a website which consistently posts it’s “estimates” not the actual figures way early into the day. They then almost never correct upon their “estimates” and leave it there and then.
Kaabil made most of its earnings from the evening and night shows and mid way between the two, boi had posted it’s article about kaabil’s collection! How is that possible!?
And think about it logically, if k3 had manipulations north of 50 crore then filmkraft would’ve paid comparitively more taxes! Why would any sane man do such a ludicrous thing!??
Please use some brains and remove trust on websites who claim to be authentic with no actual proof to verify their sources. They have been underreporting all movies since time immemorial. Dangal is also 20-30 crore lesser in their lifetime totals as they didn’t take into account the regional collections!?
So relax and enjoy the success of both movies at their respective levels instead of hating upon the other one.
Day 2 for both the films is good and with their combined collections, they are challenging highest records for each day
PS: It’s also kinda stupid of people to quote collections of one website onto another. Indicine is a reputable site and if they are posting some figures, they of course would’ve verified it from all their sources. It’s like going to a 5 star hotel and saying to the chefs that thele ka khaana is tastier. If you feel that then don’t come to this hotel and stick to thela. Simple.
@indicine why is BOI underreporting they have given 16cr early estimates of Day2 I mean really?? Theatres were packed house full today even in delhi (HRs weak zone ) .. ??

Today occupancy is just awesome in Chandigarh its more than triple from the first day… Kaabil 2nd day collection looks like 18-19cr range.

Raees is a massy movie after long time. The real test will be from Monday and will decide where movie will end up. I guess better opening of Raees compare to Kaabil will give boost for collections in coming day but Kaabil is amazing movie and better wom may drive collections for it. I sensed both the movies may do well and end up as success for both camps. My prediction for both as follows:
Raees – 130-140 crs
Kaabil – 85-100 crs
Srk fans go watch BOI twitter ac and then cry over & over!!now coming to the Kaabil 2nd Day collection…It’s awsm…but if there was even distribution as per screens & also seating capacity screens…then This would be 22 cr for sure? hope This awsmm Movie & HR’s mind-boggling Act will get it’s due in Box Office also….Friday Collection is veryyyyy Important!!

Watched kaabil it’s simply fantastic it’s a film to be remembered for years . I won’t be surprised if hrithik wins national award for kaabil . the clash ain’t one sided and I’m sure kaabil will run longer than raees
