Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil has turned things around on Day 2 at the box office, showing massive growth in business all across the country. The advantage of a national holiday is usually around the 35-40% mark, but Kaabil has almost doubled its business from Wednesday. Some places which started slow on Wednesday, have more than doubled.
As per early estimates, the Thursday collections of Kaabil will be in the 17-18 crore range (Hindi version). The collections from Telugu and Tamil versions have shown significant growth in business too and it could touch the 50 – 55 lakh mark.
What’s working in Kaabil’s favour are the reports that are coming in from all over. The family audience came out in big numbers on Thursday and exhibitors say, the older section of the audience is liking the film as much as the youth. For a film to enjoy a long and successful run, it’s the family audience – especially at multiplexes – that end up giving the film those long legs to perform in Week 2 and 3.
The hold on Friday will give us a clearer picture on where Kaabil is heading. If the film collects as much as it did on Wednesday, it’ll be a very good hold. If the collections come in the 12+ range (which is possible because the occupancy was low on Wednesday) then it would suggest that Kaabil is upto something special at the box office. Anything lower than 7.5 – 8 crore wouldn’t be good enough, with the starting point being low.
The trend over the next 3 days will decide the fate of the film.

- Wednesday – 10.43 crore
- Thursday (holiday) – 17-18 crore (approx)
- Total – 28 crore (approx)
It is the movie and performance of Hrithik which will be remembered for years which is more important than the BoxOffice collections ?
Not saying BO doesn’t matter but we forget the quality of a movie due to collections ,so enjoy both movies ,Collections is sar dardi of producers not us

Not from the perspective of being a Hrithik Fan, but this time when I was watching Kaabil, I cried so much that even now when I am thinking of the movie, my eyes are getting full of tears. Oh Yami Gautam the way you made me cry, I wish I could hug you and ask if you are really OK. When writing this comment my eyes are still getting wet. Hrithik gave his career best performance and what Yami did can not be matched by any other bollywood actresses of recent time. I wish could huge both Yami and Hrithik together and cry like a baby on their shoulder!! forgive me for being so emotional in this comment!

Rakesh Roshan is notorious for inflating numbers.
RCE also lost credibility once as they did it once for HNY 45 Cr Day 1.
I think its high time we stop believing BOI when it comes to collections. They’re always in a hurry to post collections first. Just because they have a generic name ‘box office india’ and a serious interface of their website, doesn’t mean they’re right. I’ve always read their analysis and articles and I believe that they really don’t report well. Their analysts dont really know how to portray the reasons behind collections. Indicine does a far better job than them. Also, every big movie has a big difference in their producer collections and the one posted on BOI. Their network is seriously not as good as they perceive it to be.

I see both the movies but in terms of quality n performance kaabil is way a head on lead much better n awesome movie. Raees is just an average movie just last 30 min of raees are Gud which saves little bit otherwise raees is another fan his look Is awesome but acting are just average IN last 30 mins he is Gud n in kaabil hrithik nailed it he beat him With way a margin IN Acting.. Last words kaabil is much better movie then raees..

I watched the film yesterday.I was in awe of the film.What a film yaar..
Hrithik acting is one of the greatest performances in bollywood(or in the world of cinema I would say). Great performances by Roy brothers,the beautiful Yami,the top-notch direction and the screenplay make Kaabil a great cinematic experience.This is a film not to miss by any circumtances.
