Now coming to the point at the release time of 3 idiots did it face any competition from atleast a hit movie.Ok leave it just imagine srk in the lead role in ETT & forget about Atbb hit but can u assure it an average verdict being such reviews & tough competition.

It faced competiton from a film like SOS.
Its genre was romance.
It released on a festival like Diwali. Christmas and Eid releases naturally earn more.
Bal Thakray’s death had a slight impact.
Coming to 3 idiots, it is ahead of ETT in every aspect. Its budget is less than half of ETT’s, and despite of that, it earned more. You must acknowledge that 3 idiots released 3 years before in much less screens, there was much less hype and buzz around the film, the ticket prices were lower and to name another few… & you Salman fans were so confident about ETT surpassing the collections of 3 idiots by a huge margin. But truly content is King.
