Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath was initially confirmed for release on January 13th 2012, but with Aamir Khan’s Dhuan now postponed, Karan Johar has latched on to the opportunity to release his film during the extended Republic day weekend.
Karan Johar confirmed the same on Twitter “AGNEEPATH is now releasing on the 26th of January 2012”
The only problem though, is the release of Ajay Devgan’s Tezz, which is struggling against time to meet the deadline. The shoot of the film is yet to be complete, but producer Ratan Jain is confident “We were the first to announce the release date. We were ready to face Aamir Khan, we are ready to face competition from Hrithik Roshan too.”
If Tezz directed by Priyadarshan is completed on time, it’ll be a mega clash early next year – Hrithik Roshan vs Ajay Devgan. And what’s more, both are action films! Who do you think will emerge the winner?

Satellite right sold by Amir could be higher than Hrithik’s Krrish 3 but distribution right of Krrish 3 has been sold almost twice as Amir’s upcoming as you said 80 cr. where Krrish 3 has been sold with a price of 125 cr. and I also showed the link where the facts have been shown. Above all, it’s a matter of Box Office result along with critics opinions. Lets see if Amir can break the expected record of Agneepath, let alone Krrish 3. How much they earn through satellite or distributors don’t matters. It would depend on audience’s choice and likeness to the upcoming movies. Remember, Krrish already has a brand image as superhero for which Hrithik doesn’t have to worry at all. One thing is definitely a fact is that Krrish 3 would be something that Indian audience have not yet seen and would not see until it releases. It’s a huge project my friend. They have waited to see how Roboot was fabulous and they are still waiting for Ra.One to confirm that whatever they are going to do is far bigger than the past so that even the recent competitors who are also planning something big can not cross them over. Rakesh Roshan always did the came up with the best and he is maintaining the same trend as well. So I think we should see how they are appreciated by both audience and critics . Hrithik doesn’t have to prove once again how he can give a mouth breaking answer to all Khans. He did in the past and still can do.
@Pinki: HR didn’t give only 2 hits in his entire career. Please do some research on HR. No one has been able to break the kind of records Hrithik made with his debut film KNPH. HR is the only actor who has been able to earn both best actor award and best debut award for his 1st film. Yes, some other actor like Rishsi Kapoor also earn something similar but his ones were not that huge as Hrithik. KNPH which is HR’s 1st film was the biggest blockbuster of 2000 as well and it’s the only movie ever made in bollywood which earned the most number of awards of 102 and was named in the Limca Book of records for this achievement. And as we all know, first impression is the last impression. FYI, HR gave the most number of blockbuster films in the first decade (2000 to 2009) and won the most number of best actor awards in the last decade too. Dhuaan is a suspence, and we all know suspences usually flop at BO. But it’s quite unexpected for a serious film to fetch such an amount for satellite rights before release! This means it’s a huge release dude!
I.e, it’s the first serious film somthing other than a completely commercial movie that has the pototional to gross more than 100cr which is itself an achievement so let’s salute the man for his guts! and wish him all the best!

@Aditya: I don’t know much about Duhaan. Hrirthik also did non commercial movies like Jodha AKber and Guzaarish. Here we are most probably arguing on the expected BO result and that I commented in such a way. If Duhaan is non commercial film then I would not place it into the row of Agneepath and Tezz. But you know that ultimate best actor award goes to Hrithik most of the time, right? so lets see who can win award for their upcoming in the next year. Another point I would like to tell you that, if the right of Krrish 3 was not sold earlier than Duhaan, then the top sales price would go to Krrish 3 only. Amir may noticed that Krrish 3 has been sold with a price of 38 cr. for satellite rights and that he raised the amount even bigger than Krrish 3 and sold it to that price. If Amir has sold his movie earlier than Krrish 3, then you know we would see the opposite picture of the present situation. It’s just about competition, nothing else.
As far as Dhoom 3 is concerned, well how can we comment on movies to be released in future. Your heart must not refuse to accept the fact, that Amir would never be able to do the kind of Stunts Hrithik did in Dhoom 2 and Krrish, Amir definitely needs help of recent technology and lots of special effete to wrap up his lacking!!

It’s called the Oscar of India of which 4 pf them belong to Hrithik Roshan, while Ajay Devagan is still of a empty handed actor of that award. This separates their differences. However, buzz created by Agneepath has been record breaking ever while people are still unknown about Tezz. Even those who are not fans of Hrithik are willing to watch Agneepath as they want to see how he has been able to justify the character originally played by Amitab Bachchan. So the above figure you mentioned is quite impractical and illogical. If the expectation of Agneepath can be met by Karan and Hrithik, then the movie will easily break all the records as the trade analysts are also expecting to it to be happened. If all goes positive to Agneepath, then I can bet you that the figure you mentioned of Agneepath can be achievable withing 6/7 days only. Above all speculation, we certainly can not say which movie would set a tight BOX OFFICE record. So lets leave it to future. Logic is in favor of Agneepath but it depends how it will be accepted.

Guzaarsih did as much as Peepli Live. Dhuan is a suspence thriller and such kind of movies have only a limited audeince and doesn’t have a repeat value, of course it’s a big film. But Agneepath is masala so it connect with all audeince that’s the difference.
About Dhoom 3, Aamir won’t exactly be the HR type of villain where he was barely villain but was actually about looks and dance. This time it will be less eye candy and about interesting personna rather than sex appeal. BTW HR didn’t act in D2, actually the film had nothng to do with acting and sucked. With D3 people are expecting a better film for the franchise, and a real villanious act from Aamir.
ANd FF awards LOLz! Aamir is miles better ctor than Hrithik. Aamir was always nominated since his debut but didn’t win though deserved many times. Even Amitabh Bachchan won only 2 awards in his first 2 decades of career. If you go by FF awards than Hrithik is better than AMitabh Bachchan, Anil Kpaoor, SRK, AK, Nasserdin Shah and AJay Devgan LOL!. These awards are a joke. Hrithik won for his non-performance in D2 after all you must know!
@Aditya: The collection of Jodha Akber was 110 cr. in its first 31 days. It was not a commercial movie as we all know. So pulling non commercial movie to a commercial level is of matter of having strong star power. Guzaarish, Peepli Live, both are fantastic film but Guzaarish was even better. Just because it could not collect huge sum at BO doesn’t mean anything. We know the reviews and appreciation about Guzaarish.
FYI, “Race” in 2009 was also a suspense thriller which became a super blockbuster films. There is no history of Hindi movies where a suspense thriller did not work. Whichever has been flop because of poor script and poor star cast. Race is a great example against your statement. Besides, suspense thriller are also called masala film. Don’t forget that Singham is also a masala film.
Your logic about Dhoom2 is completely baseless and ridiculous. You said Hrithik did not acted in Dhoom 2?? well he won best actor award in 2006 for only Dhoom 2. Like I said, you have to be physically well qualified for a film like Dhoom, otherwise, you have to depend on lots of special effects and CGI technology which Shahrukh Khan used in Ra.One to override his lacking and that will also be the same for Amir who will surely not be able to perform such stunts being done by Hrithik. Yes, the collection of Dhoom 3 could be 3/4 times due to massive release both in India and abroad and the expectation that has been build by John and most specially Hrithik. Amir will simply take the past advantage at BO.
If Amir was better actor than HR, then he would not end up being nominated in FF but also he would earn at least one award. No matter how loudly you shout about Amir, it won’t help since statistic doesn’t go in favor of Amir over HR. FFA is called the Oscar of India and that he could not earn more than HR, so why crying??
If the first decade is considered of all the actors in Bollywood, then of course, HR will be on top and that is what I am telling you here. @Fuad: you sound like a looser, get ur facts right Jodhaa Akbar grossed 59cr nett, TZP grossed 62cr nett! Both were risky films anyways. TZP was a way better film and was selected for Oscars also it was more loved by audience, it was a great movie. JA was just an average one time watch hitorical, yes it was better than MP and Asoka. But IMO nowhere near Lagaan. Even Lagaan opened well and grossed much more than JA.

About Dhoom 3 you missed the point completely, Dhoom is a series where being loud is what “works”, villains arent really villains, more like unbeatable gods. Heroes are heroes you don’t want to cheer for and the story just doesn’t make sense. Aamir wont play a flashy villian like John or Hrithik but may be like a subtle mastermind etc; Im sure it will be more in the mold of Don, calculating and cold rather than loud. I can’t see Aamir on a skateboard in the desert, just won’t suit him I admit. The film should play to his strengths.
So After a cop’s role in the Reema Katgi movie, a thief’s role is the right choice ;-)
BTW, Did anyone ever imagine Aamir pulling off an action role? He came up with the biggest BB of all time, the first movie to gross 100cr nett.
Before no one imagined the chocolate hero Aamir to do a cop role, but he did it exellently in Srafarosh.

Peepli Live with no stars, sold only on Aamir’s name did sme as a Hrithik-Ash satrrer, PL was selected for Oscars that tells it all.
