In a group interview to promote his recently released film ‘The Shaukeens’, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar spoke about the super-stardom of his father-in-law Rajesh Khanna and the current superstars in the industry that he looks up to.
Talking about the craze for Rajesh Khanna during his peak years in the late 60s and early 70s, Akshay said “According to my wife (Twinkle Khanna), I cannot reach there. I agree. I cannot compare myself to him”
When asked about who he admires amongst the current lot of superstars, the actor said “Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan are the two superstars whom I admire in Bollywood”
Akshay’s latest release ‘The Shaukeens’ has opened well at the box office. The film collected Rs 5.12 cr on Friday and 6.35 cr on Saturday.

akki,we also admire you.when u want respect from other,u also give respect to them.but some time our self proclaimed superstar who is basically a overactor forget this.there are very few people who do not respect big b.but at the time of release of don,our rukh rukh khan’s behaviour was like he is bigger than big b.it was so pathetic.the real fact that very few in the industry like farha khan respect this overactor.he has more money than other,but he is far behind from big b,amir,hritik,salman,akki,sanju,ajay in terms of restpect and admiration.

@moviebuff SRK was fond of YRF because of his skills and the craze he had created in the industry. YRF wouldn’t continue working with SRK just out of their fondness for him. They were getting a lot in return. I’d say YRF brand went to a next level after SRK joined them and thats why they continued to direct him. Karan Johar kicked his career off with SRK . SRK made K Jo and K Jo always gives credit to SRK and Aditya Chopra for that. CriminalKhan also worked for a while with Rajshree but he couldn’t put his shit together and failed to continue to give them hits, thus abandoned until recent times.

I feel so sorry for akshay he has everything but still has to make barbs against srk.He did before in public during an awards show and still hasnt learnt anything.Of course it is his opinion of who he admires but it is rather sad for akshay to show his jealousy and envy. Dont forget chennai express steamrolled over his movie just about a year ago.srk doesnt need anything from akshay – instead of being happy for everyone’s success akshay – even with akshay doing 4 films a year what great blockbuster hit has he had recently apart from the remake of the tamil film which made abt 112 crores. srk does 1 film a year – chennai express has made over 225 crores in india alone and ww another huge figure and hny also made 198 crores to date and still showing – akshay does these movies which are nothing much – just average hit barely hitting 100 crores and he thinks he is something great. he may be a nice guy etc but he comes across as being a really sore loser – all his movies have been remake after remake apart from once upon a time released last year which was another dud – he is not a consistent actor at all
also one last point is who is akshay kumar really? he has been in this industry for so many years – dont forget this is the same man who said that he admired aamir not so long ago. akshay imo is a good actor when given the chance to be – he has a beautiful family success etc – and yet when he definitely knows that pple will misread his comments he still said it. akshay is not srk whose name is universally recognised – he is not in the same league as either salman or srk or even aamir and maybe hrithik – so perhaps if akshay could have been more diplomatic it would been nice for everyone
He admires them because of the skills and charisma they have..also, salman and hrithik are more handsome than him but one thing is for sure that both these actors can’t match Akshay in comedy genre and to an extent in action too
