Happy New Year has collected Rs 358 crore worldwide, making it the second highest grosser of 2014 – right in between the Rs 377 crore worldwide collections of Salman Khan’s Kick and Rs 320 crore gross of Hrithik Roshan’s Bang Bang.
As far as the worldwide total of the film is concerned, the Shahrukh Khan starrer will remain at the second position, as the film is nearing the end of its run.
In India, Happy New Year has collected Rs 201 crore, while the contribution from the overseas markets has crossed the 91 crore mark.
Happy New Year will fall just short of the 100 crore mark overseas, something that only four films have done so far – Dhoom 3, 3 Idiots, My Name Is Khan and Chennai Express. It could join the 100 crore overseas club when it releases in more countries.

Very good collection if we look at ww level, 357 cr is good figure.But overall film performed decently, as 108cr in weekend,completed with 205cr not collected even double of its weekend both in overseas and domestic level.
I loved the intelligence of srk fans,as they believe koi moi figures,they are fake how I will tell you.
As per them 3i 202cr net and 269cr gross.
Ett 198cr net 262 cr gross.
So from 2009 to 2012 figure is justified if we look taxes here.
Now CE 226.7 cr gross 301 cr in 2013 and d3 283 cr gross 372 cr reasonably OK.
Now the loophole begins.
Kick 233 cr gross 309 cr, hny 200.5 cr net but gross 290 cr. That mean an the net difference b/w kick and hny is 32 cr but gross difference is just 19 cr so as per their estimates kick gross should be 330 cr+ as 32 cr net means 40 cr gross so hny 290+40=330cr but 20cr gross was given by govt to kick team lol.
Now some brilliant fanatic would say there was huge tax rate difference since kick and hny, but as per my knowledge only Rajasthan circuit tax rates increased from where hny lifetime total is hardly 15cr so there are max 2(even this exxgrated fig) cr in gross calculation but they are saying with 20cr.
For example 3i 269cr gross, hny 290cr gross even its collection is still 1 cr short than 3i in net.
So Indicine are correct with their gross but as a boi follower I will say hny 180cr Hindi (80cr less than d3 261), overseas gross 90 cr (75 cr less than d3), we 340cr (170-180 cr less than d3)
@Sky, spot on with your analysis. Rajasthan circuit collections are about 10.5 crore net and we have included the gross collections into the worldwide total.
@everyone else, this recent trend of believing every higher figure quoted from random websites will eventually kill the interest around box office numbers. What irritates us the most is when a random person talks like he/she is a trade analyst. We have been doing this from the last 8 years, longer than most of these new websites. Give us the benefit of doubt.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Diwali release Happy New Year which recently entered the Rs 200 crore club two days back has been performing steadily over its third week, with collections dipping in the weekdays. Although the SRK-Deepika Padukone starrer will not beat Salman Khan-Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Kick at the domestic box office, HNY has overtaken Kick’s worldwide collections already.
Although Kick performed well at the overseas arena, SRK given his strong fan base around the globe struck gold raking in around $15 million from its international markets. Kick had collected around Rs 233 crore nett and Rs 309.89 crore gross in the domestic box office followed with $11.10 million which is around Rs 68 crore in the overseas arena. In total Kick had its lifetime worldwide gross at Rs 377 crore.
On the contrary, SRK’s HNY could not perform better than Kick at the domestic market and has made around Rs 200.50 crore nett till today. The film’s domestic gross is around Rs 289 crore. But the film has outperformed the Salman starrer at the global arena bringing in over $15 million which is around Rs 90 crore. Hence HNY’s total worldwide gross stands at Rs 379 crore and is still counting.
The film will definitely not be able to catch up with Salman’s Kick at the Indian box office but overall, SRK’s HNY has turned out to be a winner. All that we need to see now is whether the Farah Khan film overtakes Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots which has a worldwide gross of Rs 395 crore.
Interestingly, the film has now surpassed the worldwide collections of Krrish 3 and Kick. In spite of being quite lower when it comes to the domestic collections of both Kick and Krrish 3, thanks to the excellent business from overseas, Happy New Year has beaten both the films at the worldwide box office.
