Happy New Year has collected Rs 78 crore in its first 2 days at the box office, which is by far the biggest total for any film ever released. Shahrukh Khan now has two films in the Top 5, as his last release Chennai Express also averaged more than 30 crore in 2 days.
Dhoom 3’s record looked out of reach when it went on a record-breaking spree last year, but Happy New Year has comprehensively beaten the film in its first 2 days.
On Sunday, business of Happy New Year has picked up all over giving the film a good chance of not only crossing the 100 crore mark in 3 days, but also to challenge the lifetime business of Dhoom 3. For that, the SRK starrer has to sustain well Monday onwards.
Kick, Singham Returns and Bang Bang collected Rs 53.67 cr, Rs 53.14 cr and Rs 51.62 cr respectively.

Here in Bangalore..there were drops post afternoon..i had checked out at the Inox multiplex outside my house..tickets were available for shows after 5.30pm..also when I checked later in the evening..not much tickets were getting sold for HNY..people preferred to watch KATTHI instead..as they were getting tickets for 220rs as opposed to 400 for HNY!!! This clearly is an indication of the epic crash which will be visible in the coming days!!!

its my 3rd installement of 3rd class hny’s 3rd 33 minuts it has 3 worst song manwa laage seems bhojpuri song i iike only initially manwa laage and indiawaale actually indiawaale is worst tribute to manoj kumar aka bharat kumar and try to copy his jab zero diya mere bharat ne songs situation but he failed due to his fake love to india, chhamiya is worst song of hny in 99 minutes. in this installment srk actually shows how bad actor he is and what he did to get awards and records by making fools others. so its worst part of all 3 installments my rating is – (.10-.90) = -0.80/1. for first 99 minutes it is -1/3. worst than bang bang.
