FAN has collected Rs 19.2 crore on its opening day at the box office, which matches our ‘early estimate‘ of Rs 19 crore. The film has performed well at multiplexes in cities, but the collections at smaller centres was below-the-mark on Friday.
It was a partial holiday in parts of the country for Ram Navami, so the opening number without the holiday advantage would have been around the 16 crore mark. What that also means is, the film would do well to show growth on Saturday, but even if the collections are at around the same level as Friday, it would be acceptable. Growth on Saturday would mean the film has found acceptance with the multiplex audience.
Like other multiplex films, the next two days become extremely crucial now. Even though FAN has released on 3500 screens, the occupancy level at mass centres was poor on the opening day and the film is unlikely to perform outside those 30-35 cities – it’s at these very centres ‘The Jungle Book’ is also performing very well and could provide tough competition for FAN in the next few days.
FAN has recorded the highest opening day and highest single day collections for 2016. The previous best opening day was Rs 12.35 crore and highest single day was Rs 17.8 crore (Tuesday of Airlift). The fact that FAN has managed a total of close to 20 crore without any commercial factors in its favour, is a fantastic achievement. But because Friday was a holiday in the Hindi belt of India (including Maharastra) and the film featured a major superstar like Shah Rukh Khan, it was expected to collect around 10-15% more than what it has achieved on Day 1

Solid collections…not many people gave it a chance of collecting a 19 crore day one..even I expected a figure between 15-18 crore during the initial FBO page..A 20 crore opening day would have been a psychological advantage but nevertheless if the film manages a similar figure on Saturday then a big lifetime total is on cards..
And what about the overseas boc office? Has it taken a big start over there?

Gaurav is an Aryan Khanna fan from Delhi. He looks similar to Aryan Khanna. He goes to Bombay to meet his idol. Meanwhile Aryan Khanna is threatened by a producer of his film. News breaks out in the media. On seeing this, Gaurav gets angry and beats the producer after kidnapping him. He then makes a video of the producer apologizing to Aryan. He then sends this video to Aryan as well. Aryan watches the video and files an FIR against Gaurav. Gaurav gets arrested. After getting out after 15 days, he is angry and dissapointed in Aryan. He goes back to Delhi and burns everything he has of Aryan. 2nd lf begins and Aryan goes to London to shoot for his film. Gaurav also travels to London. On reaching, Gaurav goes to Madame Tussauds and breaks Aryan’s statue. He threatens tourists with a gun, breaks traffic rules and shoots a couple of people at a wedding in which Aryan was supposed to dance. Since they look similar, Aryan gets arrested in place of Gaurav on eyewitnesse’s testimony. After getting out, Aryan begins a search for Gaurav. Cat and mouse chase begins. Aryan gets ahold of Gaurav. A couple of fights between them take place. In the climax, Gaurav falls off a cliff fighting with Aryan & Gaurav Dies Fan (SRK Movie) Story:- the End……!
@The Phenom.. Jai Ho had very low ticket prices, non holiday and released two years back. Big difference. Jai Ho was single screen.. this was multiplex where ticket prices are 10 times more.

If we compare fan and airlifts first day collections i dont think fans collections r that much gud..remember airlifts screens were just 2200 as compared to 3600 of fan..also airluft had competition in kya super kool hai hum and was released on non holiday..if holiday factor is removed fans collection is 16 and if we add 1400 more screens to airlift to make it equal to fans screens then airlift would have collected 3 to 4 crs more .12.5plus 4 is 16.5..remember both movies were completely dependent on akki n srk respectively…

Hilarious to see SRK fans giving so many excuses. Jai Ho had pathetic heroine (negative), horrible songs and very bad B-grade trailer (huge negative). Ticket prices were super low, released 2 years back on non holiday. It was also critically destroyed.
FAN had superb out of the world trailer (acc to his fans), highest ticket prices, half holiday, 3.5 to 4 star reviews..
Come on guys.. Salman in rubbish will still collect more than SRK in a superb film :D :D
