Don 2 opened to a good response on Friday, picked up at high-end multiplexes on Saturday and ended it’s first weekend with a spectacular Sunday.
On Sunday, most multiplexes were sold-out for the entire day, including the morning shows. Even single-screens, where collections fell on Saturday, showed a slight jump in business on Sunday.
Weekend collections including non-hindi versions are below
- Friday – 14.5 crores
- Saturday – 15 crores
- Sunday – 18 crores
- Weekend total – 47.5 crores
It’s the third biggest weekend after Bodyguard and Ra One in 2011. The weekend business is comparable to last year’s Dabangg, but when the final collections come in, Don 2 could fall just short of Dabangg by a few lakhs. Don 2 benefited from higher ticket prices, 3D and regional versions. While Dabangg as a film had tremendous appeal at smaller centers.

No matter salmaan gives 10 performances like bodyguard it can never matchup to 1 performance of SRK in DON.he is MAGIC!!!!!!!!
i m not saying this the whole world is saying …….even the critics who said DON2 is not a gr8 movie but no one could not stop praising SRK’s performance

bodyguard is total copy of south film don 2 is the real film not copy the story is different. don 2 is better than bodyguard in story.action.
@ rahan : we accept that salman has more fans in india.. but why can’t you accept that his movies and acting skills are not as good as SRK. You like salman because he has more number of fans so be it. We don’t mind. That’s your criteria of liking people. Many people like actors on the basis of their acting skills not based on other activities.. Dekh bhai don’t get me wrong. Popularity aati hai jati hai. Salman knows this better than you will ever know. Everyone knows he has seen many ups and downs. We SRK supporters are not against your salman and your beloved boxoffice and fan following numbers. SRK never had many biggest grossers every year. He is called King of boxoffice not because of his collections but because of his consistency. His films do good business in 2nd and 3rd weeks too. This year Ra one did not do well in later weeks and you guys jumped in like this was some sort of disaster.
My point is if you guys are really confident that salman is the biggest star of all time then you should not worry about small stars like SRK.. If salman is really as good as you think, he will rule bollywood for upcoming decade jst like SRK did in previous decade. My personal opinion is that salman is favorite of God and luckiest person who without doing any hardwork has reached here. Bur SRK had made his own luck through working hard all this year. So he doesn’t need any luck for his existence. Only time will tell who is right on who is wrong..
people said the same things during the release of phir bhi dil hai hindustani and kaho naa pyaar hai .srk is over hrithik is superstar blah blah blah remember what happened in a few months :P not only hrithik SRK is compared to every hero of bollywood that itself proves who the superstar is:)
It is quite regrettable when u Indians people speck bad about your fellow Indian just because you are not a fan of such actor. A lot of factors determine the fate of a film at the box office not only the quality. Critics are just people like me and you, who has is likes and dislikes. All dis guys are great actors, no one will rule for ever. most Salman Khans films did not do well some couple of years back, Dabanng changed every thing and that does not make him the best actor.

the movie cost of RA.one is crore 135 and the movie collected crore 240? how do you say its a flop? plus there are still going to release in many other parts of the world. more collection will happen.

Its gonna be a huge blockbuster all over the world and it’s gonna change the level of Indian cinema. And those who are saying that it’s a Hollywood copy, I would say it’s better to take a little concept from Hollywood rather than making the exact copy of Telugu movies.
According to Amod Mehra, it’s an alarming situation for Don 2 if single screens are not going full. Pegging the first day’s collections at Rs 13.5 crore, he says that considering the response from the public, he sees it crashing after Christmas.
” Don 2 has to do a business of Rs 110 crore to break even,” he says about the film that has cost Reliance about Rs 105-110 crore after buying it from Excel Entertainment for Rs 80 crore.
