Dishoom is sustaining well at the box office, as the film has collected 2.5 crore on its 8th day (official figures not released). 2nd Friday business was always going to be crucial, because a big drop would’ve meant a total of around 60-62 crore (which was our LBO prediction).
But a strong hold has ensured that the film will cross the Rs 65 crore mark by the end of its run. If the film shows good growth on Saturday and Sunday, it could amass Rs 70 crore at the domestic box office - which will be a very good total.
Some points:
- Dishoom is the biggest success and grosser of Rohit Dhawan’s career as director. His first film ‘Desi Boyz’ opened well, but failed to sustain in the long run. It finished with lifetime business of 46.5 crore in 2011 and was a ‘below average’ grosser.
- Dishoom was the third biggest opening of Varun’s career after Dilwale (21 crore) and ABCD 2 (14.3 crore). In other words, it was his biggest solo non-franchise opener. After a poorly received trailer, the opening was above trade expectations.
- At the time of its release, Dishoom managed to get the 6th highest opening (Read More) and 7th highest opening weekend of 2016 (Read More)

- With collections of $3 million (still counting), Dishoom is the highest solo overseas grosser of Varun’s career. Ahead of ABCD 2 ($2.82 million) and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania ($2.3 million). Dilwale remains his highest grosser, but the comparison is unfair because it featured a top superstar like Shah Rukh Khan.
- Dishoom will also be the sixth 100 crore worldwide grosser for Varun Dhawan. All his films, except Main Tera Hero and Badlapur, have crossed the 100 crore worldwide mark.
- For Jacqueline Fernandez, Dishoom will be the 7th highest career grosser after Kick, Housefull series, Race 2 and Brothers.
- For John Abraham, Dishoom will be the 4th highest grosser after Housefull 2, Race 2 and Welcome Back. All were multi starrers, Dishoom is no different.

i dont think there is hardly any profits from theaterical run and verdic is based on that bhai not from other sources….
or rahi baat baby drishyam dilwale ki then u can check their budget which is less than their life time collection thats they are semi hit or hit but in case dishoom budget is 73cr but collection will be 70cr approx.

@Hrithik fan from Nepal: fan budget was 100cr without Srk fees. What do you think his market value is? Also there is difference in stardom of varun John and Srk. According to BOI HF3 budget was 94 but declared HIT at 106. Ki and Ka budget was 35 but hit at 48. Dishoom budget is 67 after rebate so if it does business of 72approx + overseas why it can’t be called semi hit at least?

Well this website is always biased towards varun and always sidelines Ranbir kapoor…even haters would agree wid me in this line’even in bad tyms rk is more popular than varun..yes vd is a good entertainer but he needs a big solo hjt like barfi ,yjhd or a fiom like rockstar which should b carried on his shoulders…thn u may call him a star…coming to box office fate of dishoom…its budget is 75cr and it lfy tym would end at around 70cr…so it will b an above avg grosser considering its size of release and content…….so pls dont b so biased….
