Both MohenjoDaro and Rustom have been passed by the Censor Board of Film Certification with no cuts. MohenjoDaro will be Ashutosh Gowarikar’s first film with a runtime of less than 3 hours (180 minutes). His classics like Lagaan, Swades and Jodhaa Akbar were all more than 3 hours 15 minutes long.
Mohenjo Daro is shorter in length when compared to a film like Bajirao Mastani, but slightly longer than PK.
On the other hand, Rustom’s runtime is 2 hours 22 minutes (142 minutes) long. The length is similar to FAN and about 12 minutes longer than Akshay Kumar’s Airlift which released earlier this year.

MohenjoDaro made on a budget of 120cr has already recovered 60cr from satellite & music rights. That means it needs around 80-90cr theatrical share to gain hit status
let’s say it’s overseas nett will b 60cr then it will need just 110-120cr to get the hit status & 170+ to become a super hit..!!
Actually it’s economics is exactly d same as bajirao which scored 100cr nett overseas and 187cr nett domestic..!!
So basically irrespective of d opening MD can emerge a superhit with +ve to strong wom bcz main 3 holidays r Sunday,Monday (I Day) and Thursday ( Rakshabandhan)
When Dilwale released hrithik supported bm and said he ( Ranveer ) used be my fan now I am his.
The whole industry was against Dilwale be it bjp, Lallu, Aamir, hrithik and their fans.

Although, Rustom isn’t as big as bm but again I am extremely happy with this clash. Rustom will do 80 to 110+ crore biz even in the worst case but if the content clicks, then it will break the record of rowdy rathore. As for mohenjo daro it has to be extremely high on content in order to survive at box office.

Mohenjo-Daro is quite perfect with run time. A historical cannot be made more shorter. Though Rustom being a thriller could have been 20 min shorter. Around 2 hrs would have been perfect. Also considering some other movie trailers are being attached to it, rustom may be equal to length to MD including the trailer.
Just get a feeling it will be a repeat of Lagaan and Gadar. MD will definitely be a bigger grosser but Rustom will also leave a good mark.

I am little surprised with Hrithik answer when media asked him about Bollywood supporting Rustom. He said Rustom is the one that needs support. That makes him sound over confident like SRK during Dilwale. Even Bollywood supported Bang Bang during clash with Haider. It is all promotional strategy after all. Just chill, Hrithikians. Just because other actors are talking about the other film doesn’t mean they are insecure and want Mohenjodaro to fail.

Mohejodaro has very apt runtime for its genre. They are already having the best screens and best showtimings compared to rustom and runtime will help get maximum shows possible for a biggie. That means despite all the buzz that Rustom is carrying, it will be Mohenjodaro that would take home most of the footfalls and money on day 1.
Locarno festival guys had watched the films and then requested to the producers to let it show on the closing day ….those guys didnt know Hrithik , they only know ashu sir for his movie Lagaan …that surely means they have liked the movie …tht’s good news for Hrithikians …

Rustom buzz was always higher than MD right from its trailer . First time I am seeing jadoo boy promoting his movies on different shows otherwise he only promotes them on internet and by giving Dare Etc etc.
IT SHOWS Jadoo boy’s inner fear.. he needs some mountain dews now?
Good thing about Maanvar Ka Darrs shortish runtime is that many dozen scenes were cut short perhaps at that precise moment Jadoo Boy Ritik started his uncontrollable epic shivering….!
Atleast audiences wont have to tolerate scenes in which his huge nostrils look like a wormhole to another galaxy where perhaps the long lost jadoo n friends live….!
Both films will earn equally well if they are worthy it. Nowadays audience is smart enough to know which film deserves to be watched. Clash wont affect both the movies by more than 20-25 crores. If the movie is not good it will anyway flop n earn less. Example is last year’s Brothers.
