Dilwale has collected around Rs 22 crore and Bajirao Mastani has collected around 12 crore on its opening day at the box office, as per estimates based on collections from a few centres and circuits from India. Note: Final collections will be posted in the morning.
The film has performed extraordinarily well in West Bengal, where the first day business is set to be around 5 times more than Bajirao Mastani. Shah Rukh Khan is the king of the Bengal circuit, the advance booking here is excellent for the entire weekend.
The other ‘class’ circuit where SRK’s ‘massy’ films are doing well is Mysore and even other South states like Kerala and Tamilnadu. The collections in some of these South Indian centres are comparable to big films which release on national holidays without any competition.
Dilwale has surpassed Bajirao Mastani in the Gujarat / Saurashtra belt and the gap between the two films is surprising because Sanjay Leela Bhansali films, especially Ram Leela, perform very well in these circuits. The occupancy for the morning shows in Gujarat for Bajirao Mastani came as a huge disappointment, in fact even Dilwale was underperforming, but both films picked up towards the end of the day.
In Maharashtra, both films were neck and neck. Bajirao Mastani was ahead at quite a few centres, while Dilwale was leading at others. It was the only state where the competition was too close to call. In Rajasthan too, Bajirao Mastani was closer than expected.
In Bihar, Assam, C.I, C.P Berar.. it was Dilwale that was leading. At single-screens in general, it was a one horse race with Dilwale dominating and Bajirao Mastani remaining poor throughout the day.
Overall, it was fantastic day for film business for the industry. Remember, it was a non-holiday, so both films are expected to show good growth in business over the weekend.
The big plus for Dilwale is going to be its genre, entertainment value and mass appeal. Bajirao Mastani on the other hand, is not going to surrender like Saawariya did in 2007. The reports are mixed to positive for both films, which is good news for the trade in general.

Offical collectons will be in the range of 24-25 cr as its not possible for indicine to track each and every territory accurately on their own. If it is 24 cr also, it will be homogeneous considering it released with clash (lesser screens) on a working day. Waiting for the official figures.
@Rew1 2:20 am : you loser, do you have any sense what you speaking ? You are comparing a solo release (released over 4000+ screens) with a movie which released with clash ? That too, PRPD was released on one of the most favourable day for business, so let’s don’t talk about that.
And clash won’t limit the screens only, but it limits the audiences also. Suppose a group of 5 friends went for movie. If there is only one movie is there in theatre, they will go for it no matter how much they hate or love that particular star. But in case of clash, they will have options and thus they can chose whatever comes into their mind.
So that’s the other side of story for a movie releasing with clash. Hence stop talking like a fool.

If you will search a single territory and conmpare the business, then I guess , even hate story 3 will have better business than PRDP/Dilwale etc (just an assumption). And you forgot to mention those territories where Dilwale would have registered at least 5 times more collections than Brothers.

awesome family movie full of joy. prem ratan is better but salman bhai is promoting dilwale and i htink i understand why.his Decision is the best .will watch with friends during the christmas holidays again. big boss with salman bhai and shahrukh khan is going to be great
bought my small nieces to see dilwale and it was such an entertaining film .varun and kriti look great together and the shahrukh khan and kajol are back really. there is a part where kajol talks to shahrukh khan which is so lol .
i want to say Dilwale on time watch for SRK and Kajol but Bajirao mastani can be watch twice nice movie after Bajrangi bhaijaan..!
@Hersi does srk has guts to release his film against Salman….srk also knows Salman is the biggest superstar of Bollywood. Check out the last 8years box office collection and then talk some shit.
i will watch dilwale because bb was supposed to be salman movie and i think the fact that he is promoting dilwale so much tells us all his decision .it will be dilwale for me because i stand with salman .may both films do well but i am with salman and dilwale and i don’t want people saying the other movie did good without salman acting in it so dilwale yes

I went into theatres with high expectations expecting a full paisa vasool entertainment and dilwale delievers what it promised entertainment, entertainment and entertainment.
What is fantastic-Perfomances,locations and cars.
Srk does a brilliant job as always,kajol is very nice,varun is good,kriti looks beautiful.
Varun sharma impresses with his brilliant comic timing,same for sanjay mishra,boman irani and Johnny lever are good.
The screenplay is fantastic and editing is good.
Music is the best for any film this year.
Gerua is picturised beautifully.
Verdict-Dilwale is full on entertaining paisa vasool film and suits for christmas vacation and it also has repeat value.

I wont be watching any movie. I live in US and cannot spend that much on a movie. Won’t be watching BM even if its good. But maybe if Dilwale is outstanding or full on comedy I will plan to watch during Christmas weekend based on how its liked as well.. So please people give honest views. If u haven’t watched it plz don’t answer just coz u r an SRK Kajol fan or Varun fan.

Boss Hero koi bhi Ho. Unless u have extra ordinary contain u won t survive. Twm2 has great content and huge appreciation hence inspite of 8 Cr opening reached 150 Cr. That’s called movie blockbuster. Here is what i felt
Pros- Ranveer is just outstanding so as lc and deepika, the sets and costumes are very gud..dialogues are clapworthy..
Cons-The direction has got more of artistic touch as its a slb film which reduces the entertainment quotient..the war scenes could have been better..
Overall 3.5 star for bm and .5 star extra for ranveer…

Early morning dropped collection. Yeh movie to gayee. No one can stop to cross the collection below 125 crs. Srk used wrong strategy by releasing this movie on Non holiday. Sab pk nahi hote hai
Now this is called real power….srk stardom is really much much strong…..if anyone instead of srk were released his movie,it wouldn’t have been able to score much like srk did with his star power…..

Bajirao also gone. Needs to collect 120 for breakeven point. With just 11 Cr not possible on day one and 35 in weekened not possible. Ego of Sanjay effect. if they would have released on 25 Dec. They could have easily collect 25 Cr in day and 80 to 90 Cr in a day. Loss for Eros is certain Now.
