Dilwale has collected around Rs 22 crore and Bajirao Mastani has collected around 12 crore on its opening day at the box office, as per estimates based on collections from a few centres and circuits from India. Note: Final collections will be posted in the morning.
The film has performed extraordinarily well in West Bengal, where the first day business is set to be around 5 times more than Bajirao Mastani. Shah Rukh Khan is the king of the Bengal circuit, the advance booking here is excellent for the entire weekend.
The other ‘class’ circuit where SRK’s ‘massy’ films are doing well is Mysore and even other South states like Kerala and Tamilnadu. The collections in some of these South Indian centres are comparable to big films which release on national holidays without any competition.
Dilwale has surpassed Bajirao Mastani in the Gujarat / Saurashtra belt and the gap between the two films is surprising because Sanjay Leela Bhansali films, especially Ram Leela, perform very well in these circuits. The occupancy for the morning shows in Gujarat for Bajirao Mastani came as a huge disappointment, in fact even Dilwale was underperforming, but both films picked up towards the end of the day.
In Maharashtra, both films were neck and neck. Bajirao Mastani was ahead at quite a few centres, while Dilwale was leading at others. It was the only state where the competition was too close to call. In Rajasthan too, Bajirao Mastani was closer than expected.
In Bihar, Assam, C.I, C.P Berar.. it was Dilwale that was leading. At single-screens in general, it was a one horse race with Dilwale dominating and Bajirao Mastani remaining poor throughout the day.
Overall, it was fantastic day for film business for the industry. Remember, it was a non-holiday, so both films are expected to show good growth in business over the weekend.
The big plus for Dilwale is going to be its genre, entertainment value and mass appeal. Bajirao Mastani on the other hand, is not going to surrender like Saawariya did in 2007. The reports are mixed to positive for both films, which is good news for the trade in general.

As according to indicines hit or flop predictions for both movies 1st day.. Dilwale – Bellow than worst case. BM- Very good. Still indicine trying to save srk and dilwale … Lol… Andhbhakti.
With 60% screens, dilwale made 22 crores. So going by this logic, if it had a solo release, and thereby getting the remaining 40% screens, it would earn 14 crores more (22*40%60)
God, SLB, you ruined both films man! As BM has to show major growth in the coming days to even recover costs, forget making profits! This Did not benefit either film. What were you thinking?

With 3 open week 3000 – 3500 screens the best period for movie business & the ticket prices are maximum & lastly the biggest superstar of bollywood his movie & if you consider these things then I think 300 cr is possible but 3 open week is ok 3000_3500 screen is OK best period for movie business is OK ticket prices are at it’s best is OK but the thing which is not matching a ordinary or average star movie is released so you can’t expect 300 cr even the die hard fan of this star will also can’t imagine this number, this shows the potential of this star because this number can be thought & can be reached by 2 mega stars in the industry not needed to mention because the world is well known about these 2 mega stars of bollywood, this was about the mega stars but here the movie released is of a ordinary or average star keeping & calculating all these it looks like that 150cr is the final number # verdict average or flop

the way dilwale gas performed , it is quite sure that if it came solo it would touch the 30cr nett mark, of course 37cr as per red chillies by grabbing headlines for beating d3. 21-22cr is very good figure but disappointment for srk fans who were expecting that Dilwale will crash BM as BM was always set to have half collection than dilwale on day1. Indicine estimate matches with BOI once again, let see does the official match or not.
So dilwale collects less than my estimate and bm more than my estimation. Though combine one day close to 33-34cr as per trade, similar to d3 first day.

Fan and Raees is going to be a test for Srk as both the movie neither has a multistar cast nor a leading bollywood actress. Both the movie rely on Srk shoulders.
I would refrain from reacting to fools and cartoons who only hate and bash. Let’s talk only data and keep in mind the clash.22 with clash and limited screen space. No one knows the exact screen count all speculation . Dilwale as stated many times will get big numbers if they had SS and good quality SS. Even in SS if shared and u get morning shows u will lose out.
The 22 non holiday with clash means
1) screens split
2) Audience split
3) low SS presence
In short it’s like a 30 plus hands down which I don’t think Pk did last year. In terms of opening star power like it or not SRK dominates. Overseas just forget it when u have Star Wars breaking records all over and one movie comes and beats it that shows the star power.
What will hit Dilwale is less SS in the weekend and not present in the quality ones.The SS though contribute less than 30 percent in terms of collection but they help in tremendous WOM and the general public who goes to SS gets attracted by this positive WOM. Monday will be the real test but today and tomorrow will need big growth in maharastra , Gujarat. If we don’t see that then lifetime will get affected.
Requesting Srk fans to knock the haters will proper data replies rather than answering to their sick observations.
Btw to take a pot shot at the haters. Isn’t DP there in BM ?? the 12cr shows that’s the max she can do in the so called best movie in Indian cinema according to the world class critics here who survive on the bread Eros throws at them.On Monday the regional belt will reject the movie and then haters will come out with many more reasons.
Being an Srk fan I think this was an opportunity to break all records for Dilwale but BM and the limited effect of boycott calls have dented Dilwale’s chances. See the movie before one comments and when u are in the theatre where whistles and claps are off and on in top notch multiplexes you will realise what’s WOM means rather than ranting negative or mixed WOM.

Movie is outstanding in its first half
and was very engaging.
When SRK got angry in hospital suddenly, that scene is brilliant.
Second half is slightly slow.
But the restaurant scene was hilarious.
Movie ends good.
So. Overall.. Movie has outstanding first half and slow second half.
It was a entertaining show.
