Dhoom 3 has just completed its 2nd record-breaking weekend at the domestic box office. The film has collected Rs 38.85 crore in its second weekend to take its cumulative total to Rs 227.84 crore net.
Dhoom 3 has now crossed the lifetime business of Chennai Express in less than 10 days. The Aamir Khan starrer is likely to be the highest grosser of all time by the end of its second week.
In comparison, Chennai Express collected Rs 25.21 crore and 3 Idiots collected 34 crore in their second weekends at the box office. However, Krrish 3 continues to hold the record for the highest second weekend collections – the film collected Rs 39.74 crore.

So computing the same with CE (3700 screens) and hike of ticket rates it would have netted atleast 400 cr in domestic and 250 crs in overseas so that leaves Aamir 250 crs above your beloved SRK.

Amir who gave 4-5 hits and lot more flop in first 15 years 89 to 2005 gave 6-7 hits in just 7 years without flop. The business of a film is not only based on the star power of the male lead. Other factors like release size, marketing, brand value, holidays and competition play a role. So don’t bullshit yourself and others by saying that aamir is the sole person responsible for the magnanimous collections of dhoom 3. Take the name “dhoom” from it and the collections would stand at a much much lower level.
