Dhoom 3 has just completed its 2nd record-breaking weekend at the domestic box office. The film has collected Rs 38.85 crore in its second weekend to take its cumulative total to Rs 227.84 crore net.
Dhoom 3 has now crossed the lifetime business of Chennai Express in less than 10 days. The Aamir Khan starrer is likely to be the highest grosser of all time by the end of its second week.
In comparison, Chennai Express collected Rs 25.21 crore and 3 Idiots collected 34 crore in their second weekends at the box office. However, Krrish 3 continues to hold the record for the highest second weekend collections – the film collected Rs 39.74 crore.

When you have films just in the 2-3 months gap,they have less chance of succeeding,as your value decreases as an actor,which i think was the case with Don 2,not grossing as expected despite being a good movie bcoz it released 1.5 months after a disappointing Raone.

Also CE had obstacles in the form of: OUATIMD:Which was a crap,and never worked
Madras Cafe:a movie for multiplex audience,which meant ce still worked at singlescreens well
But K3 had ramleela,with an ace director,with superhit musiv,with top actress of 2013,which stopped its progress at the boxoffice.

d3 officials are 296.18cr Domestic gross and 128.9 overseas total= 425.17cr, d3 become 3rd highest grosser in overseas, become highest grosser worldwide in 9 days beating 395cr ww record of ce, so just in the span of 4 month Ace Khan backed the top title again and the best thing of d3 it is highest grosser in domestic market and will be highest grosser in overseas too, as this movie will also release in some countries next year in jan-feb. and still collecting.

Dhoom 1 collected 29cr, when highest grosser was Gadar 76cr.
D2 collected 80 cr when highest grosser was Gadar and than it surpassed and become highest grosser.
D3 collected 221cr in 10 days and it will cross 250 cr, and biggest grosser worldwide and you are saying it is failure, superb theory guys.
CE is a bigger success considering all factors still. For those that say RIP CE, does that mean being at no.2 is RIP, then I guess the entire industry besides Dhoom:3 of course is buried :P

srk fans saying if ce would released in regional langauge like k3 & d3, its collection would be 240-250cr domestic, first of all ce collection on domestic level are 208c, and there is no need for ce to release in other langauage, as there are so much scope for regional language like Tamil,telugu in the film, i think they haven’t seen the movie properly than what is the need of makers to dub Tamil dilogues again into Tamil LOl.
