Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has refused to make any comparisons between the box office collections of his film ‘Raees’ and to the last release of his contemporaries – Salman Khan’s Sultan and Aamir Khan’s Dangal – both of which went on to collect more than 300 crore at the domestic box office.
“It is nice to know everything is going well. If we start comparing, then sky is the limit. Why should we compare only the last big hits like ‘Dangal’ and ‘Sultan’ which are much bigger hits than perhaps this film can ever be?” asked SRK, when the media questioned him about the constant comparisons between the box office collections his films to those of Aamir and Salman.
“Therefore, that comparison from outside is good but from inside we know the truth. ‘Raees’ has a limit and we are happy if the film reaches that” he added.
Shah Rukh also said the business of ‘Raees’ has exceeded his expectations and it would be wrong to compare his film with the other release last weekend Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’.
“Every film has its own place, own business. So it is weird to evaluate one film’s business with another (Kaabil) on the same criterion. Having said that, we knew we would have a limited business. At this point of time, we are little beyond that also. The film has done fair business than what we expected.”
Also starring Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Raees has collected Rs 93.24 crore in 5 days at the box office.

SRK is perfectly correct in stating that collections of movies of different genres must not be compared. Such comparison leads the producers/directors of all movies try to make a movie that cater to all audience and end up entertaining none.
Why should some one try to make an action movie cater to families?
Why should some one try to make a super hero movie cater to people who prefer saas-bahu serials?
Why should some one try to make an adult movie cater to families?
Why should some one try to make children movie cater to adults?
Why should some one try to make a rom-com cater to mass audience?
Why should some one try to make a mass film cater to the so called class audience?
Why should some one make an urban film to cater to mass audience?
why should some one make a drama film (saas-bahu types) to cater to action film audience?
How hard it is to understand that different kind of audience like different kind of movies.
Once in a while there will come a movie like MPK,HAHK, DDLJ, KKHH, Bajrangi Bhaijan which will cater to everyone. But it is silly to expect a movie like Raees to cater to all audience like Bajrangi did.

SRK is right……….not every film is meant to entertain all sections of the audience…..
Raees is definitely an entertainer compared to Dear Zindagi but its still predominantly a film for single screen audience……Not so much for the multiplex audience….
SRK’s next, Im guessing will be more for the multiplex audience……also may not be as massy looking as Raees, so would probably have a lower opening in terms of occupancy levels than raees as it would much more screen capacity as well………
We fans need to understand, that different films have different reach……..and not all films can be all time blockbusters………
But where SRK has gone wrong is that he chose to clash his film……..Raees could have probably done closer to 200 cr if released solo! No point chossing to clash if yours is a big budget film!

The above statement by SRK is logically true & a sign of being honest because in the past no movie releasing in the non-festival period that too in the month of dull period, january ever crossed 150cr domestic.
Here, Raees is clashing with another superstar’s movie. If you were expected 200cr+ from both movies then you are most deserved to admitted in mental hospital. To keep the clash factor, dull period in mind, Raees is safe to say a clean hit movie with 150cr approx.
The one with ALR coming in December 2018 will decide his stardom that can he challenge Aamir & Salman at box office.

Audience will slowly loose trust in him. Same old Masala and rom com everytime. Its outdated today. Audience test has duly changed over the last 2 years.
He wont be getting solo releases too. Rehnuman will clash with Secret superstar and SS is a BB.
I doubt if he’ll get a solo Xmas release. Even if not from B’wood he will get a tough fight with Avatar-2.
And that project is not a written blockbuster, is it?
Even Raees seemed good on paper, but turned out to be an average fare.
His films are not holding on Monday, as neutral audience dont trust or like him anymore.
After some times, even his films will struggle to get initials.
Look at Salmans choice. Look at Aamir. Look at Aaki and Ajay(Akki is likely to overtake him soon)
Hritik has the age factor and most importantly his father by his side.
