Bhansali Productions on Tuesday released a statement clarifying that the misunderstands regarding the content of their upcoming film ‘Padmavati’ has been clarified with the Shree Rajput Sabha. The statement also said the makers have clearly stated that there are no love scenes or dream sequences between Rani Padmavati (played by Deepika Padukone) and Allauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh).
“Representatives of Bhansali Productions Private Limited, including Ms. Shobha Sant (CEO) and Mr. Chetan Deolekar (Associate Producer) met with the office bearers of all the social organisations under the Shree Rajput Sabha in Jaipur.
“The misunderstanding they had on the content of the film has been cleared and clarified. We have clearly stated that there is no romantic scene or song or dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji.”
“Shri Giriraj ji Lotwara, President of Shree Rajput Sabha has been extremely helpful in bringing the various Rajput organisations including the Karni Sena, Sangh Shakti, Pratap Foundation, Bhawani Niketan together to clarify this” the statement read.
The makers have said they have been carefully researching and making the film, which they feel Mewar will be proud of.
‘Padmavati’ tells the story of Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler, who fell in love with Rajput queen Padmavati.
Last week, activists of Shree Rajput Karni Sena protested against and physically assaulted the director of the film Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
In their defence, the Karni Sena had said, Bhansali’s security officials did not allow them to meet the director and fired three bullets in the air to disrupt the protest.
While the industry has come out strongly in support of Bhansali, there has been very little support on the ground apart from Twitter outrage and a couple of ‘#IStandwithSLB’ tweets.

If the word of mouth is like Bajirao Mastani then Padmavati will definitely cross 250 crores because Bajirao Mastani with a clash earned188 crore at the box office then Padmavati with solo release and to open weeks can do 250 crore easily.

When Khilji dynasty and Mughal dynasty ruled India for a period of more than a 1000 years then it is obvious that they might have liked, loved, married Indian women. What’s wrong if a filmmaker wants to recreate it as cinema for entertainment? Why these so called organizations do not raise cards when movies like Veer Zaara, Ishaqzaade where so called ‘Indian’ guy has a love interest from opposite end? Double standards!

Those who disliked my comment should understand that slb realised his mistake of playing with the facts. Chipko andolan was famous and womens of rajasthan covered trees to save them but unfortunately they lost theirselves life in that movement.
