Clash between Hollywood film ‘Gone Girl’ and ‘Happy New Year’ averted

The clash between Hollywood star Ben Affleck’s “Gone Girl”, which was scheduled to release alongside Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year, has been averted. The acclaimed film directed by David Fincher will now release on October 31.

“Ben Affleck’s much-awaited and much-acclaimed ‘Gone Girl’ to release in India Oct 31,” said a statement.

The Hollywood movie, which has received a tremendously positive response at the United States box office, is based on a best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn.

In the film, Affleck stars as a writer who is caught in a media circus when his wife goes missing and the police suspect he is responsible. Rosamund Pike plays his wife.

Actors like Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, and Carrie Coon are also part of the movie, which had its world premiere on the opening night of the 52nd New York Film Festival last month. In the US, the movie released Oct 3.

  • This is common. Its like if any big hollywood movie is releasing I am sure the king will wait for until it slows down before releasing abroad. The real power is when you have guts to release your movie in another country when they have a big release something like Avengers or Iron Man 3 !!!!!!!! Avataar is once in a century experience hence no comparisons to it. Moreover they have just post poned for a week not for months it is understood Diwali is big festival in India n most audiences will prefer a desi movie than a hollywood movie. Only Aamir Khan have guts to release his movies worldwide (includes UK & US) in December or Christmas when most major hollywood movies releases due to long holidays n still emerge with breaking numbers for a bollywood movie !!!!!!! Srk released Don2 in Christmas n everyone knows what happened to it in both India & overseas !!!!!!!!!! so its neither power nor they are scared of anyone but a sensible business strategy !!!!!!!!!

  • Salman releases his films on Eid,SRK on Diwali,Aamir on Christmas and the remaining 117 holidaysare reserved for Akshay Kumar. i am not hater of ak but its joke.
