The clash between Hollywood star Ben Affleck’s “Gone Girl”, which was scheduled to release alongside Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year, has been averted. The acclaimed film directed by David Fincher will now release on October 31.
“Ben Affleck’s much-awaited and much-acclaimed ‘Gone Girl’ to release in India Oct 31,” said a statement.
The Hollywood movie, which has received a tremendously positive response at the United States box office, is based on a best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn.
In the film, Affleck stars as a writer who is caught in a media circus when his wife goes missing and the police suspect he is responsible. Rosamund Pike plays his wife.
Actors like Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, and Carrie Coon are also part of the movie, which had its world premiere on the opening night of the 52nd New York Film Festival last month. In the US, the movie released Oct 3.

Ben is superb actor.Argo jst blew me up when i came to know ben is director,producer and actor of film.
I got very surprised when i saw ben in ‘Good Will Hunting’ coz the character was not so very powerfull and all credit was taken by Damon.
If gone girl would clash with hny then “HNY” couldnt even recover its cost.
So HNY has only one week to prove itself…the way they are promoting the film looks like they have no faith in their content..so by promoting they are expecting a huge first week….
First Weekend: 1st day 33-35 crores, 2nd day 30 crores, 3rd week 37-40 crores..= 100-110 crores. First week – 170-180 crores. Second week: good competition, 3 movies: Gone Girl, Roar, Super Nani. so screens will be less and collections would be 40-45 crores. 3rd week – heavy competition i.e Akshay Kumar’s Shaukeens, so collections will be 15 crores and rest of weeks 5 crores. Gone Girl is being praised too much by english media too- not seen it but good decision to postpone it in India by a week but I think it should release on Monday coz after weekend of HNY- that film will crash due to WOM getting out that its inspired from not one Danny Ocean movie but all 3 of them aswell as Cash + Players….!
