The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is the biggest movie website on the planet, receiving millions of visitors every day. One of the best features on the website is the ‘IMDb Rating’, which is based on user votes and reviews.
Movies that are rated above 8 are considered to be classics and anything above 6.5 is a good rating.
In the first part of the series, we will be analysing the IMDb ratings of Bollywood films featuring the top actors in Bollywood. This article will be followed by analysis of actresses, directors and production houses. The ultimate goal is to find the actors, directors and banners that have been churning out good films consistently.

Aamir Khan is down to earth actor. Never said he is #1. He is really very hard working actor we have in Bollywood. He never run for a script to make money. He is in a class of Directors like Gurudatt, Raj Kapoor, K. Asif actors like Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bacchhan, Guru Datt, Raj Kapoor. He was never in a race of money but the Quality. He stands out himself as a best actor.

And what I like the most about IMDB is that,starcast hardly matters to most of the users
For Ex: Acclaimed film like BABY with comparitively a smaller star cast than films like HNY,Bang Bang and KICK has been voted by more people,shows people are more respecting content than stars.
I am glad that Akshay is being appreciated for his acting performance lately. He will regain the top spot as 2007 in few years from now. It’s like an injured tiger making a comeback after miraculous recovery.

You are no one to decide who has more classics, Aamir or SRK, neither am I.
Also keep in mind that Aamir has done only 39 movies whereas SRK has done 61 movies.

Lagaan,Dil Chahta Hai,Rang De Basanti,Taare Zameen Par and 3 Idiots are in IMDb’s TOP 250 MOVIES LIST and he’s the only Indian actor to do so.And his movies receive the most number of votes in IMDb.For example:-3Idiots,164k votes;Taare Zameen Par,74k votes;PK,61k votes etc.

IMDb rating is the most diplomatic rating site according to me.otherwise you can say whenever I see this I become diplomatic.because sometime best movies remained over 8 which always I appreciated, sometimes some good movies also remained below 8imdb like MNIK,JTHJ,DON2 and sometimes most overrated/fake films acquired over 8 like pk,aaa(worst film like humshakals),rdb,and some few other movies.it’s depend upon people’s desire rather than the actual limit to define a movie.otherwise
Otherwise the best example I can give a worst/below average movie like pk got 8+ IMDb rating while a film like AVATAR remained below 8 Imdb.
So from the above example we observed a fact that,only Hollywood movies got perfect ratings while Bollywood movies only got haphazard ratings otherwise we can say bollywood users gives ratings based upon their choices /favourites rather than the actual deserved movie.
And Bollywood’s place in IMDb becomes more pathetic after 2010,when peoples blindly supported masala genre movies and took them above 8+ ratings.if any Indian movie that deserves 8+ ratings that I saw are —– HAIDER(should be top and should be above 8.5) and the movies that should be above 8-8.5 ratings are—-JTHJ,OMG,Lunch box,Udaan,znmd,barfi,rockstar,city lights,DON(and many movies I didn’t
watch till yet.besides those movies other films should remain below 8+ IMDb.so Bollywood has completely haphazard ratings of it’s film in IMDb.
Last thing comes about Indian audience’s choices,they till now have to understand better about CLASS+PERFORMANCE which make deserve to go above 8+ IMDB.So Indian’s choices are the one which is most adorable mystery that World Class audiences are seeing in IMDb,ROFL.
Last thing about recent movie bb too couldn’t remain above 8+ IMDb and will come below 8 in few days which has lacks in performance of one of it’s lead actor.so Indian movies at least now a days doesn’t need IMDb rating due to it’s unrealism in stories and too weak performances.

@Nipun do u know why u dont like imdb?its because films like baby,holiday,gabbar(which u dont like)are higher rated than films like knph,kmg,dhoom2,krish,agneepath,k3,bang bang(which u like).i think imdb is the best way to judge a film.but imdb fails to truely compare between a holly and bolly film.e.g.3i is higher rated than gone with the wind which is unbelivable.
