Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful women in the world, stormed the Hindi Movie Industry with twin successes in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Taal’. She nullified the theory that models cannot act. In the music department, she has performed perfectly in songs of all genres. Her presence itself adds value to the song and makes it a visual treat.
Here we present you with the Top 10 Best Songs of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan:
1. Kajra Re: Although Aishwarya only made a special appearance for one item song, ‘Kajra Re’ became the most talked about thing of not only ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ but the year 2005 itself. Ash rocked the stage with her killer looks and sensuous moves. When her real life hubby Abhishek Bachchan and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan joined her on the dance floor, there was bound to be an explosion. Gulzar, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Alisha Chinoy combined together to create the magic that was ‘Kajra Re’.
2. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam: Not many directors have presented Aishwarya better on-screen than the way Sanjay Leela Bhansali did in the title song of ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, rendered beautifully by Kavitha Krishnamoorthy. The song is apt for the situation in the movie and sensitively picturized on Rai and Devgan.
3. Dola Re Dola: This is not an easy one by any means. To compete with the biggest dancing diva Madhuri Dixit on the tunes of Saroj Khan is a huge task. Aishwarya matched Madhuri step by step in this number composed by Ismail Darbar for Devdas. Bhansali yet again managed to extract the best out of her as Paaro. It’s also one of the best dance songs of Aishwarya Rai’s career.

4. Taal Se Taal: Legends Subhash Ghai, A R Rahman and Anand Bakshi joined together to create the fabulous music of Taal. This title song has Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan singing at their best. Aishwarya excelled in portraying the character of an aspiring singer Mansi.

5. Humko Humise Chura Lo: From Bhansalis and Ghais, we move to Chopras now. Yes, Ms. Rai has worked with almost every renowned director of Bollywood. This pure romantic melody composed by Jatin-Lalit from ‘Mohabbatein’, takes you to the world of dreams. Soulfully sung by Lata and Udit, the song is a visual extravaganza of romance.
6. Crazy Kiya Re: If the top 5 roles presented Aishwarya in traditional attire, Dhoom 2 had Rai in never seen before western outfits. This catchy dance number is composed by Pritam and sung energetically by Sunidhi Chauhan. Aish set the stage on fire with her rocking steps.
7. Waada Raha: This smooth love ballad from Khakee is audio-visually one of the best songs. The song’s video direction, featuring Aish with Akshay, is perfectly in synch with the music. The delightful visuals stop and start in between to go with the tune of Ram Sampath. Shreya Ghosal, who started her career as Aish’s voice in ‘Devdas’, is sensational in this song.
8. Haare Haare: Anu Malik has given his best compositions for director Mansoor Khan. This soft and sad track is taken to unmatchable heights by the vocals of Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan. Aishwarya played the role of SRK’s sister, a Goa girl, in the movie.
9. Aao Na: Sadhana Sargam’s voice is equivalent to hearing a nightingale in this song from ‘Kyun.. Ho Gaya Na’. Song is aptly filmed on Aishwarya and Vivek Oberoi. Javed Akhtar’s lyrics have done full justice to this melody composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
10. Jashn E Bahara: Although this Rahman’s composition is a solo male song, it is based on Akbar’s feelings towards Jodhaa in the movie. The presence of Aishwarya ignites the song as she portrays the character of Mughal wife perfectly.
Other wonderful songs featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are Hai Mera Dil (Josh), Barso Re(Guru), Udi (Guzaarish), Ishq Kameena (Shakti), Tumse kahein (Balle Balle Amritsar To LA), Ranjha Ranjha (Raavan), Aa Ab Laut Chalein (title track) and Meri Saanso mei basa hai (Aa Ab Laut Chalein).
Do mention your favorite Aishwarya Rai songs in the comments section below.

Note: Madhuri’s birthday is coming up after 2 weeks and hence we will be publishing her best songs on 15th May as a small tribute from our side.
I would put Hai Mera Dil from Josh right at the top. Thats my favorite song of Aishwarya of all time. Sad that it didnt make it to the list :(
Nice songs abhu sharma. But could be reordered… how can Kajra re top the list? Its an item song. Has melody taken a back seat these days?? Is it all about sex and sensuality?
How can HDDCS be Aishwarya’s best dance song?? :/
@indicine:thank you very much for this article. . . .u left chand chupa badal mein, nimbuda,do labso, silsila yeh chahat ka. . . . .really, she is a very talented actress who is beautiful,an excellent dancer and skilled actress. . . .she looks gud in devdas in traditional look as well as in dhoom2 in western lookss. . .
Where are these songs? How can you not include these classics is beyond my understanding.
In Lamhon Ke from Jodha Akbar
Tere Bina from Guru
Dil Dooba from Khakee
Ay Hairathe from Guru
Nimbuda Nimbuda Nimbuda
I stopped reading the moment I saw Kajrare on top. Worst list!!
SUPERB SONGS……. Can you make a list of top 10 aishwarya rai dance songs only? she has many classics with great choreography.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is female SRK when it comes to collection of songs. Noone can boast of better songs and by this I mean the composition, picturization, expressions and choreography.
Hats off to Abhishek Sharma.. in love with this series of yours.
is this best or worst list?? only 2 or 3 songs are good
Hey Sidharth,
Thanks for the appreciation.
We are not trying to categorize the songs based on melody or item or sad number.
When we are writing best songs for an artist, the primary purpose is to select the songs which are special because of the presence of the artist only.
Like e.g. there are so many Salman’s songs which are extremely pleasant to ears because of exceptional singing and composition, but ‘Oo Oo Jaane Jaana’ topped our list as you cannot imagine any other artist in that song. Same goes with Kajra Re.
It is not about item numbers, sex or sensuality otherwise we would have gone with Ishq Kameena definitely.
Hope you got what I am trying to say here. Anyways, keep the comments coming. Cheers!
Thanks And Regards,
Abhishek Sharma
Don’t understand the reason for the severe criticism. You can’t include all of her songs in the Top 10 and each and every person has a different taste when it comes to music.
So if you don’t like Abhishek’s list, post your own. Simple as that. If you dont want to, enjoy the songs that he has posted! Most are awesome!
Ash and SRK jodi is the best. Love them both
Barso Re (Guru) is a good song too.
Aishwarya rai most famous songs are
Nimdooda Nimbooda – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Crazy Kiya Re – Dhoom2
Kajra Re – Bunty Aur Babli
Barso Re – Guru
Salaam – Umrao Jaan
Dola Re Dola – Devdas
Dil Dooba – Khakee
Silsila Yeh Chahat Ka – Devdas
Humko Humise Churalo – Mohabbatein
Taal Se Taal Mila – Taal
Ishq Kameena should be in Top 5.Aish and SRK rocked in the song.
i thnk d most top song would definitely be Ajooba from Jeans! not only the visuals were outstanding, aishwarya was shown as the 8th wonder f the world!
where is chand chupa badal me song.
Kajarare was the best item song ever made in bollywood, but in this list it doesn’t belong to in top 1 position.
behene de from ravan and tere bina from guru r missed
Kajrare is one of my all time favourite dances. I have the video in my laptop & still I watch it once a week or two. Rather than Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam I would prefer Nimboda, Chand chupa Badal Mein, Silsila Yey Chahat Ka, Dholi Taro Dhol Bjaje, Daiyaa (Dil Ka Rishta), Kilimanjaro & Pagal Anukan (Robot).
@Abhishek Sharma,
How could you have missed Barso re?? It’s the best song ever picturised only on Aishwarya!! I agree Kajra re should top the list. This & Beedi from Omkara are the best item songs ever.
Looking forward to Madhuri’s list. I hope Dhak Dhak tops….
After Saif’s list I think you should publish the evergreen songs of Emraan. That will definitely be your hardest task. Plz, also try to publish the top songs of Atif Aslam & Shafqat Amanat Ali.
Thank you.
hrithik and aishwarya jodi is the best jodi ever on celluloid
I think meri sanso me basa hai tera hi ek naam from aa ab lout chalen must be in the list. This is the best song in terms of melody.
Thanks Arman.
I agree Barso Re is great but could not include as the count is only 10.
We will definitely publish Emraan’s list, may be sometime around Ghanchakkar’s release. It wont be harder than Salman/SRK, I guess. Atif and Shafaqat will also come down the line. Till then enjoy Aish, Saif and Madhuri’s songs. And keep rocking with the comments.
Thank you all.
Best Regards,
Abhishek Sharma
