Don 2 released today and while the reviews are mixed, Shahrukh Khan’s performance has received tremendous appreciation from both the critics and movie-goers.
Which brings us to the question; Will SRK win the Best Actor award for his performance in Don 2?
Before we pick our choice, let’s look at some of the best performances of the year (from commercially successful movies only, as others don’t stand a chance)
These are also most likely to be the Filmfare Best Actor nominations for 2011
- Hrithik Roshan for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara – Has no chance this year as Farhan Akhtar’s performance received more appreciation. Is Farhan a contender for Best Actor? Unlikely, but these popular award nominations never fail to surprise!
- Salman Khan for Bodyguard – Well, both his roles in Bodyguard and Ready had no scope for acting histrionics. Salman fans won’t like it, but we doubt he’ll win the Best Actor award this year. If he does attend, a new award category is likely to be created!
- Shahrukh Khan for Don 2 – One of the best performances of the year and easily his personal best since Chak De India. Will he win this year too?
- Ajay Devgan for Singham – A box-office monster with good performances. But Ajay doesn’t attend award functions and has publicly said, he doesn’t believe in them anymore. He’ll be nominated, but they would rather give it to Salman than Ajay. Similar roles, but Salman being the more popular actor, chances of winning for Ajay are bleak.
- Ranbir Kapoor for Rockstar – Again, one of the very best of the year, but does he stand a chance against SRK?
- Amitabh Bachchan for Buddha Hoga Tera Baap / Aarakshan – Both films flopped at the box-office, no chance.
So, the two major contenders are Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Out of two, if we’d to pick one, it would be SRK for Don 2. Simply because we loved his character and his performance.

all these awards functions are fake. they will again chose SRK as a best actor. for Ra-one. he he he he it will be the jock of the decade.
ist of all i believed tat the best actor award should go to ajay for singham cos he has given such a superduperhit performance but after watching don 2 i found srk’s performance alot better then ajay..so the BAA 2011 should must go to @imsrk for his outstanding 100% bestest performance..it’d be unfair if salman khan wins for bg..very unfair..!!!

@indicine @isha and @Aryan I truly think SRK deserves it for Don 2…i m not his big fan (nor i hate salman) but wen u look at Ra.one and then Don 2 then he is a hands down winner two completely diverse roles and he does it flawlessly….im surprised @indicine u didnt nominate SRK for Ra.One…as regards salman there is no emotion or expression in his performance….his movies works coz of repeated views by his fans
In my opinion..to be honest I will say SRK and RANBIR are in limelight in order to getting the filmfare…..SRK was awsome in Don 2 and RANBIR was too good in Rockstar…..
But also,..I have to say that, Ajay Devgan was brilliant in Singham,…but remembar one thing ajay devgan fans,…Singham is a remake of south film ‘Bazi Rao the Tiger’…….
Thats way I doubt about him…….

3) Akshay for a v good nice film which we all loved in our country but didn’t do well in India, which is Patiala House ( he, at least, must be nominated for his performance in this film)
And.. what Salman did in that silly film Bodyguard?!! nothing special in his acting!!
I think that Shahrukh will win and no one else

I can assume that Hrithik Roshan too would deserve best actor award for Agneepath.. from the trailer we can say that he did a good job in this film
And yeah.. for those ppl who think that hit blockbuster movies means “good movies” go to masala website and read what Salman Khan (himself) said to Ashoutosh Guwariker.. he said the following: I don’t do good movies.. I do hit movies which make money” so.. the man himself is admitting that he gives the audience some silly stupid movies in order to make money.
All hit movies r not to be considered as good movies, u got lots of examples in bollywood for bad movies winning at the box office, and for some really excellent movies which didn’t do well!

No comparisons only SRK deserves it.A cheap dance can pull the crowd into theatres but it will not qualify to get a best actor award uske liye acting ki zaroorat hoti hai……woh sirf SRK hi kar sakte hai…..so no need for debate or confusion on this ;
