Don 2 released today and while the reviews are mixed, Shahrukh Khan’s performance has received tremendous appreciation from both the critics and movie-goers.
Which brings us to the question; Will SRK win the Best Actor award for his performance in Don 2?
Before we pick our choice, let’s look at some of the best performances of the year (from commercially successful movies only, as others don’t stand a chance)
These are also most likely to be the Filmfare Best Actor nominations for 2011
- Hrithik Roshan for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara – Has no chance this year as Farhan Akhtar’s performance received more appreciation. Is Farhan a contender for Best Actor? Unlikely, but these popular award nominations never fail to surprise!
- Salman Khan for Bodyguard – Well, both his roles in Bodyguard and Ready had no scope for acting histrionics. Salman fans won’t like it, but we doubt he’ll win the Best Actor award this year. If he does attend, a new award category is likely to be created!
- Shahrukh Khan for Don 2 – One of the best performances of the year and easily his personal best since Chak De India. Will he win this year too?
- Ajay Devgan for Singham – A box-office monster with good performances. But Ajay doesn’t attend award functions and has publicly said, he doesn’t believe in them anymore. He’ll be nominated, but they would rather give it to Salman than Ajay. Similar roles, but Salman being the more popular actor, chances of winning for Ajay are bleak.
- Ranbir Kapoor for Rockstar – Again, one of the very best of the year, but does he stand a chance against SRK?
- Amitabh Bachchan for Buddha Hoga Tera Baap / Aarakshan – Both films flopped at the box-office, no chance.
So, the two major contenders are Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Out of two, if we’d to pick one, it would be SRK for Don 2. Simply because we loved his character and his performance.

Just saw don2! Tremendous,stylish and slick…that are the three words which came from my mouth when i watched don2! Shahrukh’s acting is one of the best ever seen by me and he certainly deserves the best actor award though i am not underestimating ranbir’s performance. The film is a treat to watch in many aspects,the twists and turns in the film are fabulous, dialogues are a pleasure to hear, acting of all the characters is good with SRK standing apart,it is certainly a must watch movie.
As indicine said that there can only be one winner, and without doubt it iz Srk..

Rickshawala, Autotwala can make Salman’s film a blockbuster, bt can’t bring him award..

I think and surely know tht Shahrukh will win it. N others will b cheering up when SRK will b taking the award in the stage bcoz he is baadshah, baazigar n don of bollywood. Till now noone has got such a huge title in bollywood neither salman nor aamir. He works hard n dont show off like others do in the public. srk is the best n will b always.

Frankly speaking, it should go to Ajay Devgn…..Look what he did 2 Singham,he took the film 2 another level……But since he often doesn’t attend award function,I think it will be SRK because he works for award not for satisfaction as said by himself…no offence to Mr.Khan’s fans…cheers

Don 2 king is back rocks.shahrukh doing best and deserve for best actor. If u r fan of lallu,dont mind its look budha in bodyguard with killing human nature by wearing ek tha whisper.12 flops or 20 movie without acting jo ek sath de sakta hai vo akela salman hai jisne last kab acting ki ti use bhi pata nahi shayad hum dil de chuke sanam.
