Aditya Chopra’s Befikre is not holding up at the domestic box office, as the film continued its downward trend on Day 5. The drop in business is 31% from Monday, even though Tuesday was a holiday in some parts of the country for Eid Milad.
The film has collected Rs 3.59 crore on Day 5, taking its total to Rs 43.22 crore. The trend was poor right from the second day of its run, even though the opening itself wasn’t upto expectations. The drops during the weekdays has pretty much sealed the fate of the film, which is likely to be the first box office flop of Aditya Chopra’s career.
Chopra made his debut with all-time classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in the mid-90s. He followed it up with ‘Mohabbatein’ at the beginning of the century and returned 9 years later with another box office blockbuster ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. All films featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, Befikre was Chopra’s first directorial without the superstar.

@dishonest We all so the superstardom of Deepika in Finding Fanny, Tamasha and Piku. So you need not elaborate on it. Deepika is a bigger star than lallu who was dependent on Madhuri and Karishma till 2010 and then became dependent of Eid after 2010. Chennai Express and HNY was all about SRK and we people outside India don’t know about any local star like Lallu and Peedika. We only know global megastar SRK.
@nn and we also saw the superstrdom of srk in films like one two ka four, phir bhi dil hain hindustani, paheli and many films which came in his best phase. not only they were utter flops but they took disastrous opening at the boxoffice. all his films released in 2000 took lower initial than debut actor abhishek bachchan’s refugee at the boxoffice. is this superstardom for you? if a established star’s film in his best phase takes lower initial than a debut actor’s film for me he is nothing but a useless garbage.

otherwise after that she gave only flops after flops like lafangey parindey,a arakshan,break ke baad,kartik calling kartik like many more uncountable flops.

and who cares what happened in 2007 and how deepika did her first film. right now she gives huge grossers even without big stars. madhuri’s superstardom was proved with the 9 lack opening of hahk. she was just an utter nonsense. but deepika’s film even with ranveer singh took huge start. ram leela took a 15 crore initial on a non holiday which was bigger than any srk film released on non-holiday at that time. that is called stardom. none of madhuri’s film worked due to her apart from raja, so she was basically a onefilm wonder.
and stop this nonsense that srk is going to make a comeback, i have been listening it for a long time. not a single person in the whole world can save srk, not even deepika. in 2018 the same thing is going to happen with srk what has been happening to him till now. srk got solo holiday release with happy new year which was a masala film but at the end of the day it failed to beat dhoom 3’s weekend record despite of being a holiday release and in lifetime it failed to cross ett.
