Aditya Chopra’s Befikre is not holding up at the domestic box office, as the film continued its downward trend on Day 5. The drop in business is 31% from Monday, even though Tuesday was a holiday in some parts of the country for Eid Milad.
The film has collected Rs 3.59 crore on Day 5, taking its total to Rs 43.22 crore. The trend was poor right from the second day of its run, even though the opening itself wasn’t upto expectations. The drops during the weekdays has pretty much sealed the fate of the film, which is likely to be the first box office flop of Aditya Chopra’s career.
Chopra made his debut with all-time classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in the mid-90s. He followed it up with ‘Mohabbatein’ at the beginning of the century and returned 9 years later with another box office blockbuster ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. All films featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, Befikre was Chopra’s first directorial without the superstar.

SRK wasn’t a superstar before DDLJ….Aditya tried To copy Hollywood and he failed otherwise only Because of Him & Karan SRK became Superstar.
Say whatever but big directors is not evrything. Trade was expecting Mohenjodaro to be a classic but we know what it was.
Similarly no one expected Sultan to be so good.
Its all about directors vision no matter whether he is big or new director.
Lets wait nd watch what Kabir Khan had for us. Even he can go terribly wrong.

Adi looked a gudd director because he had Srk as the lead role… And SRK was a perfect fit for his characters… ddlj would not have been classic widout SRK… Mohabbbatein would not have been that lovely if it had Ranveer Singh(Supposedly) or any others… Itz Srk and his charisma that makes simple scenes loom brilliant…!@!

I still wonder how come the collections reached to 40+ crore till now, it should have been wash out till now. What Bombay velvet did to Ranbir during his peak career, history repeated, Ranveer can say proudly that he has Befikre after Bajirao Mastani. Lol. Ranveer fell into the trap of Aditya chopra, I think he is so much frustrated in his life after marrying old age aunty Rani mukherji!.

Bakrid and this date both were great for Raees and Kaabil. Both dates were wasted by lame rom-coms. Believe me, Raees would have done at least 200cr solo on Bakrid, and Kaabil could have done at least 125cr on this date!
Now Aditya Chopra won’t forget SRK ever.

But the biggest production house unfortunately didn’t choose akki for any of their films till 2008.
And when they did the result was flop.
Tashan and Brothers.Two biggest flops for the biggest production houses.Maybe akki is a panauti for festivals,yrf and dharma.
Befikre didn’t flop because Adi took Ranveer instead of SRK. It failed because Adi made a bad film.
It was not a well made movie and thus flopped.
