Aditya Chopra’s Befikre is not holding up at the domestic box office, as the film continued its downward trend on Day 5. The drop in business is 31% from Monday, even though Tuesday was a holiday in some parts of the country for Eid Milad.
The film has collected Rs 3.59 crore on Day 5, taking its total to Rs 43.22 crore. The trend was poor right from the second day of its run, even though the opening itself wasn’t upto expectations. The drops during the weekdays has pretty much sealed the fate of the film, which is likely to be the first box office flop of Aditya Chopra’s career.
Chopra made his debut with all-time classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in the mid-90s. He followed it up with ‘Mohabbatein’ at the beginning of the century and returned 9 years later with another box office blockbuster ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. All films featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, Befikre was Chopra’s first directorial without the superstar.

Aditya has proved that he needs SRK and even KJo to an extent..although Kjo has dkeivered hits without srk also but none has become a blockbuster without SRK. THEY NEED SRK, period.

the initial of befikre proves the superstardom of deepika. people say madhuri, karishma were superstars but actually they were zeroes. superstardom of a heroine is proven when her films with not so big stars collect huge and that’s where deepika stands apart. you have to agree that ram leela opened to 15 crore net 3 years ago only because of deepika after seeing the initial of befikre. even bajirao mastani with a clash opened to 13 crore net because of deepika. those two films had nothing in them to collect huge apart from deepika’s stardom. and mark my words her padmavati will again collect huge with the same ranveer who without deepika is yet to cross 75 crore.
ce and hny also collected mostly because of deepika though those two films starred decent star srk and he also deserves little credit. the best thing about deepika is that she is yet to work with any superstar but still has achieved one 200 crore grosser and three 175 crore grosser, hats off to her.

By the time Adi directed his first movie, SRK was already a star with 3 HITs (Deewana, Baazigar and KHKN), one superhit (Darr) and one blockbuster (Karan-Arjun) in his kitty.
By the time, KJo directed his first movie, SRK had earned the tag of superstar with number of his movies attaining ATBB/BB/HIT status.
But according to this lunatic called “Sunny Urinoholic”, SRK became a star only because he got a chance to work in the movies directed by Adi and KJo.

With Befikre I started to think that it wasn’t Adi behind DDLJ,Mohabtain,RNBDJ.I always believed that his father had more impact on the three classic movies than him. It seems he just used to follow Yash Chopra while making movies.Now he is no more in this world and Adi is infront of us
