Three big films are scheduled to hit screens on the same day this Gandhi Jayanti – Hrithik Roshan’s Bang Bang, Shahid Kapoor’s Haider and Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom biopic will all compete against each other at the ticket window.
Last year, Ranbir Kapoor’s Besharam got a solo release on the same day and went on to collect more than 20 crore at the domestic box office. A clash between three films would obviously mean much higher revenue for exhibitors, but producers of all three films are likely to suffer.
For obvious reasons, Bang Bang is by far the biggest film of the three and the most commercial too. The second choice for the audience is likely to be Haider, even though Vishal Bhardwaj’s last three films have failed at the box office. The Mary Kom biopic will rely on word-of-mouth publicity, which if good, could affect the box office prospects of the other two releases.
Sources say, the budget of Haider and Mary Kom is around 37 crore and 30 crore respectively, while Bang Bang will be made on a budget of more than 75 crore. The stakes are high for Bang Bang, more so because it will be Hrithik Roshan’s first release after the phenomenally successful Krrish 3 and Katrina Kaif’s first after Dhoom 3.

Intial wise Bang bang will open huge(katrina,hrithik star power),haider will be distributed by utv and they wil definitely book good screens,so in the long run it wil be haider..mary kom doesnt hv any scope and it wil be postponed

mary kom and Haider will not release on 2nd october if Bang Bang makes it by then….thats for sure!!!
Bang bang can be amongst the top 3 grossers of the year even though the khans are coming on festive seasons…..dont forget that 2nd october is a big release weekend this year as 3rd october is dusherra followed by bakra eid…..it is the biggest weekend of the year……
Plus bang bang is a hardcore mass masala film…..and hritik would be red hot as he would be in the same dhoom 2 avtar….plus makers of bang bang ie fox star has already announced that bang bang will be as big as it gets in terms of production quality……..
hritik may beat one or maybe even 2 khans this year!!!

Khans are manipulating the distributors and others to get solo national holiday release dates , recently aamir tricked anurag kashyap who had blocked christmas 2014 a year ago, to get date for PK. its totally dadagiri of khans.
hrithik has the guts to face competition from two films but khans are scared to face competition from even one small film, thats why they beg others to give them 2 open weeks

Producers of Haider should really reconsider their release time. It may be a publicity stunt, but I do expect either Haider or Mary Kom biopic to be postponed, as they will get more affected as compared to Bang Bang should the clash happens.
