Bang Bang 2nd Week Collections

Bang Bang continued its steady run in its second week at the domestic box office. The film has grossed Rs 308 crore worldwide, as the overseas markets have contributed nearly 75 crores to the film’s worldwide total.

Hrithik Roshan has become the first actor to deliver two back-to-back worldwide 300 crore grossers, as both Krrish 3 and Bang Bang have performed well all over.

Bang Bang should have collected much more in its first extended weekend itself, which would have ensured a much bigger total in India. But given the fact that the film was panned by the critics and the word-of-mouth was mixed to negative, Bang Bang will finish with lifetime business of 175 cr (including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions) in India – the second highest grossing non-festive release after Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Bang Bang First Extended Week (8 days)

  • 2nd Friday (Day 9) – 4.9 cr
  • 2nd Saturday (Day 10) – 6.3 cr

  • Very gud… By the end of the third week it will touch 175 domestic nett & 325 Gross worldwide…
    Hit India…..
    Blockbuster in Overseas.. :)

FacePalm to Haters & Critics who bashed the Film….

  • Wow Indicine, with 5 back to back holidays, you are still calling it a non festive release. Before the release you were saying that Oct 2nd is one of the most profitable weekend nd now you have changed your words lol..

    • @King Khan

      1. Festive release is when a film releases during Eid, Diwali, Christmas. We are differentiating because ticket prices are increased for festival releases.
      2. We have never said 2nd October is the most profitable weekend. It cannot be because in the last few years very few big films have released in the first week of October. Besharam last year was one of the biggest disasters of 2013.

  • Bang Bang should collect nearly 190 cr.
    Thursday 3 Cr.
    Weekend 12 cr
    Next 4 days 8 crs
    Rest minimum 2 cr
    Totally 190.crs.
So @indicine pls reconsider your final outcome of Bang Bang.

    • @Arjun Kapoor and @Yuvraj, the festival itself doesn’t make a big difference, in fact it affects business which is why Happy New Year is not releasing on Diwali holiday (Oct 23).

Kick did well even during pre-Eid, but there is a huge difference between Pre-Eid and Pre-Diwali periods because the Hindu population is about 84%. Pre-Diwali has a much bigger impact on business, but the days that follow are excellent because people are more willing to spend money, workers get yearly bonus etc.

  • rohit…..hahahahah where are you no festival release….
5 holidays first ever for any bollywood film and only 165 crores….
if dhoom 3 , , chennaiexpress , kick got holidays then 300 crores is minimum for them…and krrish 3 300 crore great joke it didn’t cross yeh jawani hai dewaani papa roshan ka collection mat batao actual collection boxofficeindia. com who kept datas for more than 2 decades not other producers who show manipulated figures. …
happy for hrithik but show actual collections

  • everybody frm critics to social netwrking platforms were thrashng bangbang lyk its d worst film ever made….considring dat fact bangbang is super sucess…nd dis also proves dat WOM of bangbang is realy gud

  • Good! 175 Crores Lifetime now it seems!
My Love and Admiration to Duggu, a superstar with honesty, humbleness and humility!! All the best Bang Bang and also for your next film, Mohenjo Daro!! Hameehsa Aisi Hi Rehna!!
And Kick to two of his treacherous fans: Babaji Ka Thullu and Critics Obsessed Nipun!!!

  • weak point of bang bang a small director, clash with haider; no promotion on tv like khans even breaks record of many movie and verdict blockbuster its power of hritik

  • @Indicine: The ticket prices were same as other big releases i.e Kick. I went to watch the movie myself nd there was no difference in prices.
And talking about Besharam, it didn’t have a huge budget like BB and it didn’t have a huge star cast like BB. There can be no comparison made between these two films.
With 5 back to back holidays, the film should have easily crossed 200cr in India. Disappointed :(

  • @ indicine- i feel u have sympathy for hr fans thats y u r not considering navratri and dussehra as a festival. both are imp festivals of hindus but for you only deepawali is hindu’s festival but in my village some old people says deewali for rich people and holi for poors.

  • ANUP… if you dont have any knowledge, please dont comment here. Why did Krrish 3 not cross 250 cr worldwide according to BOI??

I dont believe their collections, but K3 has easily crossed 250 even with their figures

176 cr Hindi net = 235 crore gross HINDI ONLY

11 crore Tamil and Telugu net = 13.5 crore gross Regional

    Overseas = 46 crore gross

    Worldwide Collections = 294.5 crore.

These are BOI figures so please STFU.

  • ya hrithik is not less than khans
saif ali khan , imran khan, fardeen khan , zayed khan hahahah
but forget salman, shahrukh and aamir khan
these 3 are legends of indian cinema
hrithik is a superstar not legend
so compare hrithik with superstars not legends. …

  • difference between trade fig and producer fig comes around 28 cr which is huge. trade 137.5cr producer 165.19cr.
look at ett -186cr,198cr difference 12cr
    yjhd – 179cr,189cr diff. 10cr.
    this is what happening
    worldwide trade 255cr tax 31%, producer 308cr tax 42%.

  • I am not getting about Producer figure and trade figure.According to trade figure Bang Bang collected about 258 crores till short of 42 crores and also Krrish 3 had only 185.2 crores collection and distribution share of 101 crores which is less than kick,CE in India(See BOI).Now tell me how both earned 300 crores. Replay me indicine with proof.

  • @indicine: Though you have already answered some users on the same, but still I want to ask, why are you considering Eid, Diwali and Christmas only as festive release??
Just because three khans took these slots respectively?? But according to me and most readers, festive release should be a span where viewers are getting plenty of holidays so that they can go and catch up a movie irrespective of the ticket price.
Nothing against Hrithik, but Bang Bang is the first film in Bollywood which enjoyed 5 holidays/semi-holidays in its first week itself. Is that not sufficient to declare it a festive release? As far as tickets fare are concerned, I myself watched Bang Bang with a ticket price more than CE/Kick but less than D3.
Please indicine, I’m sorry to say but change your marking standards. Movies releasing on Dashehara, independence day, republic day may indeed considered as festive release provided by sufficient number of other holidays associated with it, as happened in the case of Bang Bang.
Correct me if I am wrong.

    • @Goutam, the average ticket price of Bang Bang was lower than Kick. We have spoken to quite a few exhibitors who have confirmed the same. There is a reason why Khans want those three big festive weeks. They are the biggest stars in the industry, capable of bringing in audience even at the smallest of centres. The trade, especially the exhibitors, want their films during this period too.. Releasing a Varun Dhawan or Ranveer Singh film during Diwali would be pointless, because footfalls will be much lower.

Couldn’t agree more with your second comment. Bang Bang was a 200 cr film, content let the film down big time. We said this in the review too. Crash always looked inevitable, but it has sustained pretty well in Week 2.

  • @ indicine but neutral audience who are nt fan or hater can watch the movie on these holidays thats why after bad reviews bang bang did that kind of business and u knw about opening of besharam.

  • Please note that even now, nothing is stopping Bang Bang to cross 200 cr mark. It’s only the poor scripts and negative reviews/WOM which helped Bang Bang to get a HIT verdict instead of getting a BB/ATBB status.
    All the best for Mohenjo-Daro!!!

  • non-festive? It was still released on a national holiday with a 5 back to back holidays or semi holidays which is better than a festive release.
