Baby has collected around Rs 8 – 8.5 crore on its opening day at the India box office, as per early estimates based on collections from a few centres. The film has done well at major cities, but business at other places was below-the-mark throughout the day.
The opening in the morning was decent, a few centres up in the North opened at 35-45%, which was a good start for a film like Baby. Evening shows did show reasonably good growth too, but business was limited to multiplexes in cities. While Delhi/UP did fairly well, thanks to the strong opening in the National Capital Region, at mass centres the occupancy was poor.
Mysore and West Bengal circuit were below average on Day 1, while central India was poor too.
Baby would have to show tremendous growth in business over the next 3 days to have any chance at the box office. The costs are on the higher side and the film has to gross much more than most Akshay Kumar films in recent times.
If the final collections do come around the Rs 8 – 8.5 crore range, it will also be our third consecutive accurate prediction in 2015 after Tevar and Alone. Read the #IndicineFBO article for more.

If theres one thing I have learnt from now is that d Hindi cinema audience are very very unpredictable!… Such a stylish and qualitative script again fails to float on d masses boat!! Well still have a strong feeling that d movie will excel SLOWLY but SURELY!!

Great movie. Rating 4/5 from me. But lifetime of the film will be less than it deserves due to 60 cr king.

the movie has not been promoted enough to be blockbuster at box office….it surely has the potential but the problem is, most of the people don’t know this film has already been released….I hoped it to be a 150cr movie when tge the buzz was full on when the teaser was released. …promotions should have been started then….and you would have seen one of the biggest openings…I read somewhere yesterday in an article, “singh is king released on 1350 screens and collected 7.5 cr on opening day…that is equal to 25cr or more of an opening todays time. akki surely has lost most of his fan following. . he though is not down nd dusted enough to not get back to groove. but he needs to rethink that whether he wants to do good movies like baby holiday etc or craps like boss ent. khiladi 786 etc. Money is the most imp thing to him right now I guess. I hope gabbar and brothers will be promoted more and more and most of all….the content of those movies should be nice too :) .all the best akki sir :)

Akshay has lost his stardom and there is no doubt about it. still it could have taken 12 crore opening but Baby was hardly promoted and this is the reason for such poor opening. I have never seen such poor promotional strategy for a big movie.

Awesome movie.. no one can do such types of role.against terrorism like akshay did..Such an inspriation we got from this movie.. Its against terrorism so every one must watch atleast once…
